Our overall experience was very good. The location is amazing basically right on the beach. The sound of the waves is so relaxing. This is the real attraction of this hotel and is what will bring us back, one day, for a longer vacation. The bed was comfortable enough. The Wi-Fi was often non-existent to terrible to occasionally quite good. The room itself is on the sparsely furnished side with a small Roku TV, but these are all things that can be managed. We had a large balcony with good chairs looking out over the sea. Our room, 24 was very near to the Sama Restaurant so sometimes, in the evening, there was quite a lot of noise from there. Staff was friendly and helpful. It's walking distance to a number of good places to eat and shopping. I do believe that we'll be back.

Google
Concurring with many of the other reviews about this gem of a hotel. Great location across a small, reasonably quiet street from a nice beach with beautiful views of the windy, wavy Atlantic. The water temp is close to 80 degrees so the breezes are balmy but there were strong rip currents. The better beach for swimming (Luquillo Beach) with calmer, safer water is less than 10 mins by car. Our room was on the 3rd floor and at the end so no problem with any noise from on site restaurant, which looked nice but was pricey so we ate dinners at Board Riders and St Germain, both within walking distance with good food and reasonable prices. We would certainly consider staying here again if we ever return.

Google
This hotel is absolutely lovely! The staff is incredibly nice, the room was clean and in good condition, and we also had a balcony with an amazing ocean view. The location of the hotel is really good as well because it is steps away from a gorgeous beach and also a short drive from El Yunque. This hotel also had a gated parking lot which was really nice, and there is a restaurant called Sama connected to the hotel which was very good. I also felt very safe here as a young woman traveler with one other female friend. I highly recommend this hotel, I would come back here again.

Google
Great stay. We will make this our go to place. Clean, quiet, and across from the beach. The office staff is very friendly and helpful. Free private off street parking as well. About ten restaurants with in a five minute walk. Near El Yunque and the Kioskos. So happy we found it!

Google
This place is a little outdated, but the view is nice. The staff were friendly but the office is closed a lot so just make sure you don’t need your hand held. People mention a breakfast in the morning. We never saw anything out in the office. The bed was a little old in our room - glad we didn’t stay too long, but everything was very clean. If you want to come and live at the beach and don’t mind living it a little utilitarian, this is the place for you. The restaurant attached gets lively and the neighborhood is fun at night, but the sliding glass doors and AC blocked it out. The beach is right across the street, and the inn has a private parking lot just for guests, a beach shower and beach towels. The beach does say no swimming but plenty of people were doing it anyway - that’s PR. I would rank it closer to two stars but I would stay here again if they had a better bed as the price was right compared to other places in the area.

Google
We rented the main suite. The view is phenomenal, private parking, restaurant located at the premises, bed I slept in was hard, air conditioning worked great. Small fridge, small microwave. Comfortable living room. Walking distance to the coffee shop, ice cream shops and restaurants All in all we enjoyed the location.

Google
They assigned room #23 to me, the room has an ocean view. I Came back around 8:37 pm and I couldn’t get the right side of the patio door to lock. Also, the patio door was really flimsy and not suitable for safety as an outdoor door. I called them and they changed the room and I was satisfied. Also, room #23 is next to the kitchen door it is extremely noisy. Customer service was excellent, Im glad that they made it right. The hotel has a restaurant and the hotel has fruit and pastries in the morning. The beach had riptides and a red flag 🚩 and a skull 💀 and bones flag so I didn’t go to the beach.

Google
Look I wish I could give 5/5 but there was a small issue with the room that had to get resolved. Otherwise, service and location were great. Diana the worker was especially kind and accommodating. All the workers were extremely sweet and there was clearly good communication happening behind the scenes. You are literally across the street from the beach. Idk if it gets any better than that. The coffee in the morning was also nice and truly the breakfast items offered were not bad in my opinion. Also, there is a ton of places to eat and explore nearby. They also have a very sweet cat that appears to visit frequently.

Yelp
King room 3rd floor. Excellent view, helpful staff. The area has many good eating/drinking options within walking distance. Diane, Cassandra. Bed was ok, pillows uh. Chairs, towels, boogie boards free to check out at office. Safe and secure area barefoot walk to the beach. 45 minute drive from Sju

Yelp
No late checkin allowed! Guests HAVE to arrive by 8:00 PM! 'Breakfast' was a joke. Just packed muffins and really terrible coffee. The location was unbelievable, just steps away from the beach. Rooms were good, clean and spacious.

Yelp
Just returned last week from a three night stay here and we loved it! Our room had a great balcony with beach and palm tree views. The beach across the street has huge surf and we loved hearing the sound of the waves while in our room. They will loan you beach chairs in the office for your stay, although they were more like camping chairs they did the trick for a few days. There is coffee and self serve grab and go cold breakfast in the office in the morning, but we loved walking to a little breakfast spot called La Diferencia a few minutes walk away for giant $4 breakfast sandwiches that we could easily split and great coffee. Definitely not a resort, but a great comfortable place to stay and get a real feel for Puerto Rico.

Yelp
Worst night of sleep ever. The beds feel like sleeping on box springs and is a queen size. Roosters started crowing at 4:30 am and someone started blaring their music at 6 am. Throw in someone doing yard work at 7 and our night of sleep was over. I paid a bit more than I normally would for this place and it definitely was not worth it. Room is average to below average.

Yelp
This review is so overdue, I'm embarrassed. My husband and I stayed here for our tenth wedding anniversary. For my husband, it was an introduction to the island and the people I grew up with. The town is a bit more run down than I remembered as a kid, but the people (ah, my people) are still just as warm and friendly. The hotel staff reflected this warmth, always helpful and available to answer questions. The rooms, were clean and cozy, though they'll not win any HGTV design contests, but who cares about decor, when every room in the place faces the ocean? Get that? EVERY_ ROOM _ HAS _ AN _ OCEAN_ VIEW! Being close to the Luquillo Beach Food Quiosks (yum!), and El Yunque, was a plus. Not too far or too close to Old San Juan. The price was not only worth it, but also easy on the wallet. Breakfast was breakfast. Nothing too fancy, but still delicious and served with a warm smile and sometimes friendly conversation. I wish they'd splurge on a waffle machine, though. It would kick their waffle days up a notch, in accompaniment with a variety of local fruits. Not complaining, just suggesting. To the staff: We can't thank you enough for making our stay (and milestone anniversary) such a pleasant and relaxing one. It was nice to feel at home again... and my husband will never forget this experience. THANK YOU!

Yelp
Outstanding!! The rooms were clean and spacious and had highly effective air conditioning, a godsend in the July Puerto Rican heat. Mind, the rooms are basic, but well decorated and include soap and shampoo. Perfect for those looking to spend more time out of their room than on it. La Pared, a beach with waves begging to be surfed or boogie-boarded is literally a stone's throw away, across the street and the hotel provides complimentary beach towels. Chairs and boogie boards are available for rent on the cheap. We spent a day on the beach and had a blast. Then when you just want to watch the waves you can hang out on the second story patio and bask in the sun. Within walking distance there are at least three fantastic restaurants, and the hotel provides breakfast every morning which saved us a considerable chunk of change. The hotel is also gated, which feels nice even though the area itself didn't feel particularly rough. It's surrounded by beach rentals on both sides and there is a condo just down the road. I can't say enough about how amazing the staff was, friendly and knowledgeable about what to do and when to do it. We were given a map and advice in the best way to get around, including how to avoid construction. Super helpful. 10/10 would stay again! Luquillo is perfectly situated away from the bustle of San Juan, but close enough for easy day trips, and super close to Fardajo which is where you can catch ferries and flights to some of the best beaches in the world!! Go for it! You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Friendly place right across from the beach in Luquillo great staff very friendly and offering up information of local areas to go they serve a great breakfast on the deck oh and being able to open the door with the sound of the waves crashing outside is great while the town may have a few issues, the people in this area are friendly while there is not a bar per se on the premises about a block away is a friendly little bar/grill with great food an drink We called it our lobby bar :)

Yelp
Stayed here for 3 days while on this side of the island. The room was very clean and staff was very nice. They also offered information on things to do near by. The breakfast was so basic however if you pay $5 per person they would cook breakfast such as pancakes, eggs and bacon or sausage but I felt like that should have been included since it's a small hotel. So we paid for one day and found a couple other places for breakfast. As far as the room we have a queen bed (really the size of a full) with ocean view. The location is great right across the street from the hotel ...plus a lot of restaurants and bars in walking distance. We lucked out since there was a festival for the weekend right out side. They have their own parking lot with remote entry. The best part of the hotel is the location if you love the beach like I do. This hotel is good for a nIght or two but I probably wouldn't stay here for a week.

Yelp
My sister and I stayed here for two nights and it was absolutely lovely, from the location to the staff. It is beach front and steps from Playa Pared. There is also a gated parking area for hotel guests. Complimentary breakfast was included and every day they would have a new hot dish along with continental. They had omelettes and coconut French toast stuffed with cream cheese as the hot dishes while we were there. There was a minor issue with our keys card not working but the staff was helpful and it wasn't really a problem. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Yelp
Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Room clean and comfortable. Breakfast included. We had a third floor room with nice balcony. Can't beat the location, across the street from beach, just a block or two to Boardriders, Lena's, panaderia, liquor store. Surf was a little rough during our stay but just down the beach a few hundred yards is a calm bay lined with palms for some nice shade.

Yelp
Awesome place- spartan but clean. Staff outstanding, food is simple , but good. Ask for the homemade hot sauce! Nice location- near the waves from room. Cons- some traffic noise at night- maybe not a great place to walk five mile beach at night, safe during the day.

Yelp
The only reason not to stay here is if you are looking for a resort experience. If that's the case, excuse me while I judge you (sorry, I'm not sorry). It's true that Luquillo looks rundown, but in my experience that's everywhere in Puerto Rico outside of San Juan and the resort areas and it just adds to the character. None of this makes the people any less happy or friendly. My wife and I spent two nights and walked to dinner in the surrounding neighborhoods both times and felt perfectly safe. Just like anywhere else in the world, use common sense. The hotel is great, situated right across the street from a nice surf spot, La Pared. If you want a beach view, make sure to request a room on the 2nd or 3rd floors when making your reservation. All those rooms come with a private balcony too, which was a great place to sit outside in the evening and enjoy the sound of the surf. The rooms also come with a mini-fridge, so stock up on your own Medalla or buy it from the front desk. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, for example we were here over Thanksgiving and they called around to make a list of places that were open for dinner. As others have mentioned, it is on the pricey side, but where else are you going to find a beach-front view for $150/night?

Yelp
I can't say enough about this place! It reminds me of a little beachside motel from the 50's but has the customer service of a 5 star Ritz Carlton. It is directly across the street from the beach. The beach is a surfer beach and not suitable to swimming without a board of some kind. The currents are wicked and not to messed with. To get to a swimming beach you literally only need to walk west (turn left out of the hotel) 5 minutes and you have a lovely calmer area. This is a locals area but everyone is super nice. No need to scared or anything. Just use common sense and don't take valuables to the beach. You shouldn't do that type of stuff in Miami Beach either though! The free breakfast every morning is absolutely amazing. Cooked to order daily specials and a very nice continental breakfast of you don't dig what the special is. The waffles you can make yourself are also very yummy. Katie was so freaking amazing and helpful it was beyond ridiculous. I would 100% stay here again or recommend to anybody. I stay in hotels all over the world and this is top of my list for pure homey feel and the lovely staff.

Yelp
This little bed and breakfast is great! The staff is wonderful and friendly and the rooms are clean and pretty (and most importantly air conditioned!). The staff were very knowledgeable about Luquillo and the surrounding islands, and pointed us towards some great restaurants like El Rincon del Sabor and Pasta y Pueblo. It's right on the beach and has great views from the room. We had a great time snorkeling and catching some sun. I can't plug this place enough! My boyfriend and I loved our stay, and if we ever visit PR again, we'll definitely be staying here.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm rating this based on the Luquillo area and what is available around there. I loved this place for its cleanliness, location, and staff. The room was neatly clean and had a very comfortable bed. It is right in front of the beach and close enough to the "kioskos" where you can find lots of food and drinks. It is also near El Yunque national park. The staff was courteous and attentive. Be aware this is no resort, but great choice for the area. A bit on the pricey side in my opinion, but if you are not in a budget, it is great.

Yelp
Friends and I stayed here for three of our four nights in Puerto Rico. The property sits right across the street from the beach with a gated parking lot and key access to the property for guests. The location is within a fifteen-minute drive of Fajardo and El Yunque National Rainforest, and the staff was very helpful with suggestions of places to swim, eat and go for various activities. You can rent snorkel gear from the hotel, but be aware that the local reefs are somewhat dangerous to swim on - you will be better off on a boat tour. We found the staff to be very pleasant and helpful; I had accidentally booked a second room in the process of trying to change my reservation, and once the situation was explained the manager refunded all charges for it. The on-site breakfasts are great (we had criolle sandwiches, veggie omelets and coconut-stuffed French toast) and the open-air dining space is a great place to hang out throughout the day. Our room was well-situated and we had no complaints on any of the amenities. Overall we felt that this hotel was a great value for the money compared to other options in San Juan and Fajardo. Things to be aware of: most of the rooms sit above the ground floor and there is no elevator, so make sure to request a room that works for your mobility. Also, call the hotel directly to make any changes to your reservation. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Puerto Rico who wants more than the "all-inclusive" resort/casino experience. This is a great base of operations for those who want to surf, kayak, and hike their way through their vacation. We will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Very nice place! The people were very friendly and the rooms are very clean. The location is great as it is right on the beach. There are plenty of food places and grocery stores very close by. The breakfast in the morning is good as well. Overall, this is a nice place and I would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Yelp
Very nice place to Stay in Puerto Rico. Near the rain forest and steps from the beach. The Inn gets its name from the view of the sunrise from your room! Not near very many restaurants or shopping so pack your food and drinks and have a picnic on the beach!

Yelp
Loved this quint little hotel! From the friendly staff who always greeted us by name, to the clean and spacious rooms that had such a breathtaking view, to the delicious complimentary coconut French toast this hotel made us feel like we were at a resort! Will definitely make this our stay when we return to this part of the island!
google avatar

Yelp
Bed and breakfast was cute and quaint. Room was nicely sized with a queen bed. The water in the shower went from hot to cold to hot back to cold and was never consistent. I would've given the Inn 4 stars, however, the area is extremely rundown. The only thing to do in Luquillo is go to the beach that has very little beach and we were told not to get in the water because the waves are too rough. We were told by a local tour guide to be safe because the neighborhood looked very rough, this was very unsettling.
google avatar

Yelp
AWESOME AWESOME inn. This inn is right on the beach. The best part of the hotel is the continental breakfast it starts at 7:30 and goes until 10:30. Every day they make a different hot breakfast special! I recommend this place to anyone family or couple.
google avatar

Yelp
Great budget place to stay while in Puerto Rico. It's safe, relatively clean and close to the highway. However, don't expect any luxury at this place. Also, vegan is a foreign word for those preparing breakfasts here.
google avatar

Stephie Z.

Yelp
Nice place to stay. The service is great and the warm breakfast was delicious. They had "tropical" pancakes the day we were there. They rent out chairs and beach towels for free. The room was nice, but the TV was crappy. Who cares though? You're there for the beach. Right in front of the hotel is a surfing beach- they tell you not to go in if you don't see locals (non-surfers) swimming. Large waves and riptides are typical. You can walk 2 minutes down the beach to an area protected by reef and have a much better swim area. The town is a bit dumpy but has a couple of restaurants and a great bakery called La Exquisite or something like that. The Luquillo kiosks are right down the road. This hotel also has some nice hammock chairs on a big deck, a computer with Internet, and a small covered parking area. I felt very safe in Luquillo and had a fun time walking around. Paid $148 a night (includes tax) for a room with double beds in low season.

Yelp
What a great place! Good food, right on the beach, clean rooms with AC, good shower pressure, the list goes on. It's an easy walk to restaurants and night life. Highly recommend.

Christina O.

Yelp
The hotel is located right across from La Pared (great surfing beach). The owners and staff are very pleasant and the accommodations are clean and comfortable. The hotel offers a delicious complimentary breakfast (including a made to order hot breakfast option that changes every day) and many items for your daily use including: beach towels, beach chairs, boogie boards and snorkeling equipment! The staff has wonderful suggestions of where to go locally for food/beach/attractions. The property is gated for added piece of mind. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Luquillo, we had a fantastic experience during our stay!
google avatar

Paul M.

Yelp
Came here for one night because it was the only hotel with a room. Ended up staying an extra night at this great beachfront hotel. Rented a boogie board, ate where they recommend, and went on their very cool iguana tour. A great little hotel.
google avatar

Mary D.

Yelp
Previous reviews regarding location and state of the town is accurate . You have a 7 minute drive to the part of Luquillo where you can safely swim . The service is impeccable although the decor is dated. Not much nightlife at the hotel or in the area. A bar opened for part of the evening and or some music would bring the guests together outside of their rooms. Maria is very attentive and the chef from Queens is an amazingly personable and excellent short order cook. The free breakfast , chair and towel rental make the price well worth it .

Yelp
Stayed here for 3 nights before the a cruise and had a fantastic time. Great location to activities and awesome beach front. Super breakfast each morning but best of the all the staff was Fabulous. Will definitely use this for future travel to Puerto Rico!

Yelp
This place is right in the middle of everything you want to see and do and everywhere you want to go! Its right on the beach with your balcony overlooking the beach and further down as well. You have the beach in front of you and the rain forest behind you only 10 min away by car. Clean rooms with AC and Satel Tv. Breakfast is included and served out on the deck which is great. They have everything you need to surf and go to the beach with downstairs (chairs, towels, boogie and surf boards, and drinks). The surf is amazing during high season and decent even during low season. The people who work here are friendly, helpful, and awesome! Safe gated place at night with room for your rental car out front as well. During our stay we did one day at the beach and one day up in the forest so we had the best of both worlds. Even after we had checked out they let us leave our car and luggage and come back and shower etc. As an added bonus they have THE COOLEST little spot to eat dinner at around the corner with only 4 tables and great food PASTA Y PUEBLO!! The owner and his family are good people. I would make this hotel my top pick for Luquillo
google avatar

Yelp
Well this certainly is a nice bed and breakfast style inn. My brother and I were desperate to find someplace to stay for the night that wasn't a seedy motel, and that place wound up being the Sunrise Beach Inn. They are located right across the street from the beach so the view from your room is excellent. The rooms are a decent size but the bathrooms are a bit small. Our room did not have a mini fridge as mentioned in a previous review. The beds were comfy and most of their good rating comes from this place being the first night of good rest I had since arriving in Puerto Rico. The breakfast in the morning consisted entirely of sugary pastries and other sweet things, which tend to make me sick if I consume them too early in the day. I was not quite enthralled with the coconut french toast they served the morning we were there. It really is a bit pricey for what it is, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here for one leg of our honeymoon in PR and loved it! The hotel itself, while not a 5-star establishment by any means, provided us with such a fun time right across the street from the best beaches in Luquillo. The service was absolutely unsurpassed, and the office manager we worked with was so quick to provide suggestions and help if needed. We spent the two days there in room 16, which is a room separate from the rest of the building and has its own rooftop terrace. The room was very nice with great AC (it was over 90 every day!) and we loved the ability to get right to the beach in a matter of seconds. They also provide a basic but delicious little continental breakfast included in the price of your stay (we didn't stay for the hot food that was served a little later in the morning, but heard it was also good). I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if I'm ever in Luquillo -- highly recommended to anyone looking for a simple but comfortable and clean place to stay while beach-hopping around town.

Beach Girl M.

Yelp
The staff makes this great little hotel fantastic. Wonderful, friendly, sweet and soooooo helpful. Great views, nice beach to surf or bodyboard. Very clean and comfy.

K L.

Yelp
We stayed here one night while on the island and it was as described by other reviewers. Not modern but has everything you need, clean and wonderful view and good location. No elevator and stayed on third floor but that did not bother us. Will stay here again if in the area. Breakfast was amazing! We stayed at a good time because Sunday morning was stuffed coconut french toast!!

Jessica F.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I stayed for 4 nights and look forward to when we can return. This was the perfect place for our winter getaway. The hotel is right across from the ocean on a quiet street. The facility, staff and service is outstanding. Maria, Sheila, Damian and the owners, Marsha and Gary, were extremely helpful and ensured that we had a great visit. Our room was simple, clean and comfortable. Breakfast (included) is a continental breakfast with a daily hot breakfast special. Our favorite was the breakfast burrito. Breakfast is served on the terrace with a beautiful view of the ocean. They also have a conference room with tons of information about the area: maps, tours and activities, restaurant menus, and 2 notebooks filled with handwritten restaurant and tour reviews. The hotel provides beach towels and chairs. The staff is happy to help with planning your activities and making reservations if needed. I'm so glad we stayed here! You won't find better value for the facility, staff, service and location anywhere else in Puerto Rico.
