This past weekend, I finally took some time to visit the Lusaka National Museum, and I’m so glad I did. Walking through its galleries felt like stepping into a time capsule of Zambia’s rich history and vibrant culture.
From the fascinating archaeological displays and ethnographic exhibits to the contemporary art section showcasing local creativity, the museum offers a beautiful blend of the past and present. I especially loved how the exhibits tell stories not just of artifacts, but of the people, traditions, and resilience that shape Zambia.
It’s not a huge museum, but it’s thoughtfully curated and easy to explore without feeling rushed. The staff were friendly and helpful, making the experience even more welcoming.
If you’re in Lusaka, I definitely recommend stopping by whether you’re a tourist or a local looking to reconnect with our heritage. It’s a quiet yet enriching way to spend an afternoon.
