Very good food - wonderful and friendly host - nice place to sit and eat too. Try the sausage with honey and pepper tapas with the garlic bread! Very good! Also we loved the passion fruit punch special. If you are international, it's good because the host speaks great english. Recommend you all go and eat there :)

Pluses. Pretty square. Tapas good value. Cons. It doesn’t need to attract regular customers. Worst service I’ve experienced in Tomar and it’s attached to supposedly the best hotel here. Only 10 customers with 3 wait staff. It took 1 hour for me to receive a scrambled egg tapas. Wait staff wandered around back and forth clueless. I had to call them for service 3 times. No apologies foe the wait. No enquiring if I enjoyed the meal. No thankyou when paying. When paying at the counter I was bumped off in the middle of paying by other customers and they didn’t seem to care.

Service excellent and food very good. However asked for a bottle of the house dry white wine and was shocked with the price of €43:00, which was only disclosed after consumption. Lesson learned.... ask for the wine list. Foolish tourists was the impression and certainly don’t think this was the first or last time this trick will be play at this cafe. We will not be back, customer/tourist beware.. Don’t feel that there was any misunderstanding on the part of the waiter who served us the wine as he did a runner immediately after serving us. He was not available when we queried the price of the wine and left this unenviable task with his much more pleasant understudy. I will let the general public decide if this was merely a misunderstanding or a contrived attempt to deceive vulnerable tourists.....

Strange decor but I love this place. Air conditioning inside and outside terrace. Great selection of teas. Lovely menu if small bites including bolo de caco which is a speciality from Madeira you should not miss out on

The food was okay but the service seems a bit incoherent. It took 40 minutes to bring out 2 small plastic bottles of water. The table next to us left because it took so long for the drinks to arrive.

Fantastic atmosphere: unique decor, relaxing Fado music and welcoming owner and employee with a deep understanding of the history of the food and the country. One of those places close to home you want to come back to time and again.

Lovely little Portuguese cafe with some beautifully done up interiors and sweet fado music playing. Do visit if you're passing through Tomar.
