"Historic Minor League Baseball Field Baseball fans will appreciate a stop at Luther Williams Field, the second-oldest minor league stadium in the country. It started as the home to the Macon Peaches in 1929. Since then, the names and teams associated with the park have changed, but many notable players have passed through the iron gates. Pete Rose played for the Macon Peaches and while the Macon Braves were an affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, future players Chipper Jones, Andruw Jones, Rafael Furcal and John Smoltz spent time here. The Macon Pinetoppers currently play at the field, which has also become a filming location in the movies 42 and Trouble with the Curve."
First time visiting the field for a Macon Bacon game. Our group had a wonderful time. Food was good. The huge fans helped us beat the heat on that hot summer day. This is a great place to take the kids or church group. My only complaint is bathrooms need to be updated. One of the toilets was leaking on the floor.

I didn't go to Luther Williams Field for a ballgame. My company has an annual businesses meeting and social function that kicks off our employee appreciation week. Apparently LWF can be reserved and rented for such functions and gatherings. We had a few hundred employees from all over middle Georgia. We had catered burgers, hot dogs, and other sandwiches. There was plenty of room for games, dancing, and socializing. I would much rather have had the meeting in a large conference hall because the wind was blowing hard. Other than that it was a beautiful day and pleasant facilities for the party.

Stadium was great. Bench style seating with back supports. Parking was free and entering was very easy through main gate. Restrooms were very close to stairs (entrance). They were clean and plenty of stalls with no wait. We were with a group and purchased the "all you can eat" option. That was my only complaint. The food (burgers, hotdogs and grilled chicken sandwiches) was not good. Chips, cookies and coke were prepackaged and fine. They also ran out after the bottom of the second inning. Other people around us with different food looked great though. Atmosphere of stadium was great. It felt very nostalgic and was just a great time. Biggest note****Majority of seats are under a huge awning. They have huge ceiling fans and even though temp was 87 it felt amazing!! There is a constant "breeze" and we were never uncomfortable.

Awesome facility. Went to see the Macon Bacon play and was pleasantly surprised to see how well appointed everything was. Great atmosphere, clean, and even in the heat, the big fans cooled everything down. Great experience, would recommend to anyone looking for a little amusement with some real baseball..

Facility is dated but maintained. Roof and fans make summer baseball as enjoyable as it could be.
