Lutyens is a lovely, welcoming home from home. The friendly family owners and their attentive and helpful staff made for a relaxed and easy stay. The breakfast was homemade and delicious, the pool was clean and the perfect temperature and the rooms were clean. It is set in a quiet part of Delhi but within easy reach of the sites which are just a tuk-tuk ride away. The highlight for us were Maple and Moka, the two playful and super friendly dogs!

A little corner of paradise in the heart of Delhi.|This family-run place is more than just a guesthouse it truly feels like home. You don’t just experience the peace and beauty of the surroundings, you become part of the family. The rooms are beautifully designed, full of charm and character, and I had some of the best, most restful sleeps here.|I spent some beautiful, relaxing days feeling genuinely welcomed and cared for. It’s rare to find such a warm and peaceful environment in a big city like Delhi.|Without a doubt, this will always be my go-to place whenever I’m back in town.

Absolutely delightful place to stay. The rooms are so nicely decorated, comfortable beds, clean everything. Shukla and her family and staff is very warm and welcoming. I really enjoyed staying here and the pool (and funny playful dogs) are a big plus. Highly recommended also and especially if you are a solo traveller.

Ideally located and absolutely perfect if you’re spending your days out exploring Delhi. It’s not fancy, but it doesn’t need to be — the place is full of warmth, charm, and genuine hospitality. Shukla and Vinita were incredibly gracious, and generous with their time and advice. The homecooked food was delicious, and the peaceful garden setting was a wonderful retreat after a day in the city. Highly recommended!

We had a delightful stay at Lutyens Bungalow on Prithviraj Road in Delhi. The property beautifully preserves its historic charm while seamlessly incorporating modern amenities. With six to seven well-maintained rooms, the ambiance is both old world elegant and comfortable. The lush greenery and calming environment make it an ideal spot, especially during the rainy season, which adds to the cozy vibe. The swimming pool is large and perfect for family time. The staff is extremely attentive, and I’d love to mention Lakshmi who helped wheelchair my mom, he was particularly helpful during our stay. Included Breakfast is homely and comforting, with classics like parathas and poached eggs. Mrs. Shukla personally ensures that every guest feels at home. Plus, there’s convenient on-site parking. Overall, it’s a relaxing getaway right in the heart of Delhi & very accessible to best eateries in sundar Nagar (saz), meherchand market (must try Elma), hauzkhas village (passable mia bella).

We had high hopes based on others reviews but were frankly a little disappointed. Starting with the positives, it is in great location with fabulous gardens with beautiful wild birds. The honestly central minibar is well stocked and there's unlimited chilled drinking water on tap. The hosts do respond to any issues immediately and are charming. It's a quiet location so a good nights sleep was had. The air conditioning was very efficient, if a tad noisy. Sadly, the room we had really needed to have been better aired as it smelt rather unpleasant when we first arrived. Most of the fixtures in the room we're lose. The door had a large crack with a view to the outside. The biggest let down was the breakfast. I appreciate the hosts are trying to create a homely atmosphere but there we lot's bits and pieces. The coffee area was separated from the area for asking for the hot food which was separated from the dining area outside. Probably more concerning is most of the spreads were home made and presented in jars with rusty lids flaking into the contents. None of jar presented for breakfast looked fresh and appealing. If you wanted a sweet spread the only offering was home made cumquat marmalade, which is black in colour and an acquired taste. While there we noticed guests mixing the utensils while using the jars, making it a little off putting for the rest of us. The bathroom was fine but the hot water in our room was coming out at around 80C with no thermostat so it is possible for serious scaling from the rain shower. I appreciate it is standard practice to fill a bucket and wash with a jug in the slums but was rather surprised to find this a standard option in the room. Perhaps the hosts could provide this on request.

The most wonderful sanctuary, such a beautiful garden with a fantastic pool. We loved the food and company especially the dogs the rooms are simple but have everything one needs and they are very clean with lovely cotton bed linen. The staff are so accommodating and we didn’t want to leave
