Truly unique experience, and well worth the small wait to have an almost private 'fitting' each time. The quality of the golves are incredible. The lovely lady served me and was very confident in my hand size just by looking at it. She then pointed at a few of the gloves advising they were what she had available in my size. Honestly it felt almost like a scene from Harry Potter, with the sorting hat, or where the wand chooses you :). I chose a style, tried them on, and they were a perfect fit so I bought them. I also wanted a few pairs as gifts for friends, but I didnt realise the best way was to measure the underside of the middle finger. So I came back with my friend's measurements about 2.5 weeks later, where I was then served by the lovely gentleman, and i was able to purchase two more pairs as gifts, and i also got myself a second pair, in a different colour/style from my first. I recommend politely asking if they're at the start or end of their delivery to determine if they may have more arrive while you're visiting. I had a little time in Portugal and so I asked when I first arrived, and was advised they had received everything in August. My first visit was at the very beginning of September, so the August stock was becoming a little limited. When I went back towards the end of September, they must have got their Sept stock in, which I was anticipating, and so there were even more colours/styles to choose from. It's a beautiful little shop with not much space inside to be sized up, served, and also allow people to window shop, so be patient. If there is a little line, trust that it will progress.

Open since 1925, quaint and very small shop for leather gloves. Limited selection if you have larger hands. Definitely should stop by if you are in Lisbon.

"Saw you coming" We queued for maybe 20 minutes, my wide pointed to the kind of gloves she would like and the woman said no, and brought three plain black gloves to try on. The first didn't fit so was discarded and it became a case of "do you want these ones or these ones". For me, there was literally one pair of (also black) gloves that they had in stock. Neither of us have freakish hands or anything; I wonder if they just have a display of snazzy gloves but all they have in stock is €80 black leather ones. We did buy them. They feel nice. But I can't help but think of Harry Enflield's "Saw You Coming" sketch from the 1990s.

A very lovely store! My partner and I bought some high-quality gloves here, with the help of a lovely and fun senior lady. She was very knowledgeable about hands and gloves, and also helped to let us know how to take care of them. We enjoyed our short conversation with her, and wish her well, from Canada!

Looked at my hands, laughed at the size of them, and then said in an extremely judgmental way, “let me show YOU what I have in stock” then looked at my hands again, shook her head, clicked her tongue, and pointed at the two ugliest gloves they have. I have bigger hands for a woman with long fingers but, they are delicate and feminine. She made me feel like I was an absolute ogre. For a place that is known for making only gloves, they weren’t very size inclusive if they don’t even have gloves for my hands.

I bought a pair a few years ago. After the usual trying out sizes, where an employee tries different gloves on your hand in a very teathral manner, my size was determined. Already during the second winter I noticed that the gloves were somehow smaller and the cashmere lining had been worn on my thumbs and the pointing finger. At the time of purchase they had mentioned that the gloves are lifelong protected and all repairs are for free. I went back to the shop and required the lining to be fixed. Immediately they said that this costs around 10 or 15 euros and I said but this was not mentioned when I bought the gloves, especially remembering how expensive they were in the first place. The employee agreed and asked me to talk with the owner. I also mentioned that the gloves had shrunk and this was very strange for me since usually leather gives in and does not shrink and that the gloves were not fitting me anymore. They again referred me to the owner and agreed that gloves should not shirk! I was unable to this day to meet with the owner. I think the idea of handmade gloves in an artesanal way is wonderful and I am always pro supporting the craftsmen, but here I felt I purchased something only superficially well done. A pair of well made glove can live a life long but here it is not the case. I don't recommend their gloves, if you need gloves to protect and warm your hands.

This tiny little shop is such a hidden gem, blink and you'll miss it! The ladies who work in this shop were so friendly, helpful and funny. You really do get a personal touch from them and they are very knowledgeable. Definitely a great place to visit if you want amazing quality gloves. You may have to queue to be seen though as the shop is so small. There is probably only space for 4 people at the most.

Since when is buying leather gloves a mind altering experience??. Since Luvaria Ulisses, that when. You must experience this to appreciate it. Each glove is custom fit to YOUR hands. The women of Luvaria Ulisses know how to pamper their clientele to the max. The experience of outstanding! Soo personalized and tailored to you and only you. This place is a license to print money.

This tiny glove shop has the most exquisite leather gloves. I settled on a lovely pair of red gloves with a liner. Not a budget place but these gloves should last a long time provided I treat them well. No touching the snow with these beauties.

"The tiniest shop in Lisbon" selling high quality-custom fit gloves in a variety of colors and styles. Our guide pointed this place out to us so we wandered over one afternoon to check it out. The place is just big enough for two people to stand inside and interact with the skilled shopkeeper. She takes a quick look at your hands and knows instantly what the proper size is for you. Select a style or two and decide if you want lined (cashmere or fuzzy rabbit) or unlined. In a couple of moments she's back with the colors and options you selected. You put your elbow down on a round pad with your hand up (as if you were doing arm wrestling) and let her fit the glove onto your hand. She totally know what she's doing and my wife's were a perfect fit. While the window only features ladies gloves, they also sell gloves for men so I ended up with a pair as well. These are ultra high-quality so depending on the style you will spend about €75 but you can get a tax refund form (if you have your passport at least a picture of your passport) and get around €10 refund back at the airport when you leave Portugal. Definitely a great souvenir of the time spent in Lisbon.

These gloves are so cute and I'm happy with the one I bought. But ! It's a tiny place and there's only one guy handles everything which makes people wait in a long line. After waited in line for 40 mins and you enter the store, you are told some of those in the showcase are not available and only those on the wall are available. It's phycological since you waited so long that you feel like you have to buy one. They should at least put a SOLD sign for those in the showcase. どれもすごく可愛いし、買った手袋にも大満足。でもね！お店が小さい上におじさん1人で対応してるから長蛇の列。40分並んでやっとお店に入ったら、ショーウィンドウに飾られてる手袋のいくつかは売り切れで、私のサイズはそのうち4つしかないと。並んだ意地があるから、買わなくてはいけない心理が働く。ショーウィンドウにあるので売り切れのものはそう表示してくれたらありがたいのに。

Small quaint shop that a coworker of mine raved about. Little selection as this place is family owned. They take pride in what they sell. The craftsmanship of the product is very simple yet elegant for those delicate hands that will be covered in a soft and gentle leather statement.

This place sells fine leather gloves. This tiny shop has been here since the 1930's. Its so small only three people can fit in the shop at one time. There are gloves showcased in glass cases in front of the store, but it seemed like the only gloves that were available are the ones inside showcased behind the counter. The owner can tell which size gloves you need just by looking at your palm. The prices on the gloves, but they are great quality and will last forever.

A cool little glove shop. The place is only about 10 feet wide - no kidding. All they have are gloves. My wife as looking for perforated driving gloves, and they had them. The women running the shop was very friendly and very professional. She sized my wife's hands pretty much by eyeball. She then fitted the gloves to make sure they were just right. Very pleased.

Definitely a touristy, but fun experience. Leather gloves from a store that's been open since the 1920s. They have lots of options. The woman working there was funny and sweet and I came home with a pair of perfectly-fitted leather gloves.

We stopped by here. Small little shop, you can almost miss it. The woman running the shop simply looked at our hands, no measurement needed and came out, for the first time in my life with perfect fitting gloves. Amazing, this is pure skill and competence.

while traveling in Europe I had hoped to buy a pair of leather driving gloves. My search ended in this tiny shop in Lisbon, Portugal. Where my partner- took the opportunity to buy 2 pair for me for my upcoming birthday. I have been thrilled with my gift the quality is like nothing I have seen anywhere. A genuine highlight of the trip.

A must see,! a tiny shop in Rua do Carmo, hidden in between other shops.It is a historic shop, where ladies of the high society (since the 19th century) bought their gloves.
