Lux Cafe

We were in a hurry and were afraid we'd have enough time to order, get our food and eat in the time frame we had. Never fear! We were seated immediately and ordered. The food came quickly and the portions were huge. We ordered the breakfast sandwiches and we were surprised that they were a generous portion of scrambled eggs, a large sausage patty on a big croissant. Top notch!

What a wonderful way to start the day. We had Amanda she was awesome. So accommodating and nice atmosphere.

Great family restaurant. Visited first time 7/13/24. Arrived at 9:15, waited 5 minutes for a table. Service was very good. Huge menu, lots of choices. Prices are reasonable. It’s obviously popular breakfast spot, as it was very full entire time. Few negatives: coffee is weak, flavorless. I had a “skillet”, half way through I felt a hair in my mouth as I was chewing… pulled out about a 10-12” long strand of hair 😮 The food was ok, needed a lot of salt. The Chunky Monkey French Toast was the best meal at our table. Total for 3 of us was $47 with tip. Took us 50 minutes total to eat.

The people were kind and helpful with quick service and a lot of food for the price. Many menu options. For what it is, I think it's great. It's not fine dining, but I needed some food to wait out a snowstorm and this hit the spot. I would definitely go back if I found myself in Goshen again. I particularly appreciated that the sandwich came with a salad or soup option. I thought that was a nice something extra that we don't always find at restaurants anymore.

Didn’t mind the 20 minute wait to be seated, everyone was pleasant and friendly. We had The Farmer Scramble with a pancake and the Biscuits and Gravy with potatoes and fried eggs. Food was very good, waited a long time for to-go containers and the check.

Stopped at the Lux for breakfast with my girlfriend. Coffee was good. Had the House omelette with pancakes. The food was excellent and the service is awesome.

I love this place! I've gone there by myself and also with friends too. I always appreciate how smooth everything is and how great the food tastes. 5 stars would highly recommend.

Last time here great. Service great. This morning was order to go. They were busy yes. However they didn't tell me till after I ordered it would be a minute. Well that was 25 min for a scramble. Then they put a few orders in front of me. And finally I here please rush my order. And it comes out looking like a pos. Crap! Tastes bad looks bad. Service bad. Okay.. after eating and chilling for a minute... it did look like some ufo. Unidentified fly omelette. But it was not horrible, could have been a lot better. I get you ate busy but cmon. May rethink going back. But I like supporting local so I'll give them another shot when less busy.

Our last carry out order was LITERALLY the last time we will order carry out here. Dining in at this location is a much better option, generally. The food is delicious so two stars are definitely not enough. If I based this review on food quality and value, they would have 5 stars. Dissatisfaction is in the undertrained staff who take the carry out orders, this is the ONLY way to order carry out as there's no on-line option unfortunately. They don't KNOW THE MENU, they're rude when YOU have to tell THEM what's included in various meals and dinners. We have been shorted on carry out more than once and sometimes the containers didn't last on the trip home and contents were all over everything including my car. Which brings me to the next point: the carelessness of the food handlers or kitchen cooks bc they use Styrofoam carry out containers and the sides and bottom of the Styrofoam get holes melted through them from hot grill spatula. It's absolutely from this utensil and super cheap quality Styrofoam. Happens almost every time we have hash browns and gravy ESPECIALLY, any kind of waffles, French toast, crepes and pancakes. Sticky icky mess! Then the icing on the cake is being asked face to face by the rude one from the phone if you'd like to LEAVE A TIP???!!! FOR PICKING UP MY OWN STUFF AND EXPLAINING YOUR MENU TO YOU, A TIP FOR WHAT EXACTLY??? Oh my, a someone REALLY needs to teach them how to EARN a tip and when it's APPROPRIATE and how RUDE to ASK because customers DON'T LIKE IT, I heard others in the waiting area complaining about the 4 tip cups at the register at that time. People feel nickel and dimed by that in an already gloomy economy. Bad for business. If this were my business, I'd clean this behavior up with employees and use different containers for carry out or better quality container. Also when increasing menu prices, it's better for business if you ease patrons into it when your costs increase rather than suddenly increasing a lot. At least make sure quality and quality of service are on point b4 big increase...

Waitress seemed so intent on her job she forgets to smile! Breakfast was served in a timely manner but unfortunately the food was lukewarm bordering on cold. The biscuits were very thick , heavy and dry. Not edible!

This is a really nice place to eat breakfast. On Sunday it was so busy and yet they know how to handle a crowd. Waitress was so friendly. She provided refills on my coffee anytime my cup was getting low. I had a delicious 4 egg omelette with hash brown potatoes and 2 small pancakes. My wife had the fruit covered crepes. The menu is extra large. Very clean inside. Large parking lot with overflow parking if necessary. Food came out hot and fresh. Great family place. This is a gem for breakfast in this area. Value for the money. Large portions.

We were in Goshen seeing my mother and she wanted to come here for lunch. Great prices and service. I had the monte christo, mom had her staple the party melt, the wife had a cheeseburger, Munson had Mickey Mouse pancakes, and my sister had country fried steak. A good meal at a good price

I have heard so many great things about this place and once I tried it I can't say I personally would give it 5 stars. The pancakes were good but "fresh strawberries" definitely weren't "fresh". Everyone said how great they were but they weren't anything special ‍ The skillet was fantastic!! All of them looked great and I got the meat lovers and it was super good!

Love this place it always does great food is fresh and taste so good. The new host an older lady just seemed really mean over the phone but was really nice in person. My crepes were messed up no big deal because my order isn't on the menu it's custom so can be confusing at times and I said you guys forgot my Nutella on my crepes and she said well it wasn't me it was the cooks and she said do you want to come back and get some chocolate and I said no I'm already back home and then said "have a good day" really quickly and hung up. Contacted the manager and they were very kind and explained the situation and apologized and even offered another one. I understand mistakes but the host didn't have to sound mean. Tracy insisted that I would get a new one because although mistakes are made it should always be made right one way or another so she wrote my name down she was so kind and helpful!!!!

Four of us went to the Lux Cafe this morning for breakfast. We had oatmeal with fruit, a Hawaiian omelet with extra fruit, veggie eggs Benedict with hash browns, biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs with hash browns. Everything was very tasty. Very busy place with excellent service. Wish we had a nice breakfast place like this back home.

they went out of their way for us. its valentines day I asked for a heart shaped pancake... THE COOK GAVE A ME A HEART SHAPED PANCAKE!!!! totally awesome place!

The food was excellent. Couldn't believe how much food was included with the stuffed tomato dish. Fresh fruit, cottage cheese, boiled egg, and raisin bread. The hubs ordered a steak omelette. The waitress left us hanging for quite a while. She finally came back to table 25 minutes later to say they were out of steak and offered other meats for the hubs omelette. He ended up with sausage. While the wait was longer than necessary at least the food came out great. 4 stars only because of waitress being a little cool in her delivery. Maybe it was just a bad day for her. Will come back as this is a great restaurant from past visits.

Lux Cafe was billed as "the best breakfast in town," so we decided to check it out for breakfast the morning after a wedding. Our hotel was right next door, so it was easy to get to. The parking lot was nearly full when we arrived around 9:15 on a Sunday. Our party of six were seated right away but then waited around for awhile for our server. When she arrived, she apologized for the wait and got our drink orders. The menu at Lux Cafe is huge, with tons of options for breakfast and lunch/dinner. I ordered the NY strip and eggs, rare. My boyfriend got the farmers scramble, and other people in our group got the gyro skillet, another scramble, an omelette, and pancakes. Our food took awhile to come out. Everything arrived at the same time and was hot. My steak was steaming hot and on a plate in a big puddle of liquid. I knew immediately that it definitely wasn't going to be rare like I ordered... and it wasn't. Super well done. Pretty big bummer but I ended up eating a bunch of it anyway. The seasoning was decent at least. I really should've known better, but the menu even lists the temperatures for steaks! Oh well. The eggs and hash browns were great. The other dishes all seemed a little off in some way or another but everyone seemed to enjoy their food. The omelette looked like the best dish by far, I'd probably stick with those if I ever came back. Overall the service was good beyond the initial wait for our food; lots of coffee and water refills happening from multiple servers. Our specific server was super polite and apologetic about the slow service. I don't live in the area but I am guessing it is one of the few places to get breakfast; maybe why it's the "best"!

We have been here a few times when we are in town on business or pleasure. The food & service are always great. The portions are amazing!! We have never left without being very satisfied.

I don't like to leave negative reviews but this one requires it. I haven't had a meal this bad in a loooong time. The burger looked and tasted funny, and my salad was dry. My friends said their food had zero flavor, but said the broccoli cheese soup was very good. Our waitress was a little slow, but they were very busy. She was also very nice. We enjoyed her smile. Zero gf options, if that's your thing.

Was invited for lunch here. Had heard that it was pretty good. I found the food all very average. The standard of food is rising world wide, so I think this place needs to rise with the times. If I hadn't had added my friends onion to my ceasar salad I don't think it would have had much flavour at all. It was an ok experience but not a place I'd gravure to.

This small cafe is brimming with variety and personality! We found that all of the staff is extremely attentive. We barely had time to sip our coffees or waters and they were refilled by any waitress or staff passing! Food was delicious, and the menu is huge. Lots of options! We had so much food that we had to take more than half of it home with us. All staff was extremely friendly!

Just had lunch there today, burgers are so good I needed a nap afterwards !I have never had a bad meal or service there .

For a very casual spot, I was very happy with my lunch here. Prices are good, service is fast, menu is vast (both breakfast and lunch options). My chef salad was full of toppings. The place is definitely casual / diner style, but it worked for a quick lunch.

One of the best in Goshen. A wide variety of food, for to enjoy and select from. Breakfast all day and food seems to be decent, not to bad price and seems clean. Good food, good staff and friendly ambiance.

Straight up, big menu, Greek-owned restaurant doing what they do best: feed hungry people without breaking the bank. Family place that anyone would feel comfortable patronizing, the hardest choice being "what's for dinner?" since the menu is so large. I settled on liver-n-onions which delivered as I remember. The green beans were not the canned, soggy versions akin to country-style dinners. I gobbled them down, too. Overall, a nice dinner with my parents and my tab was under $30 for the three of us before tip. I say, "Give 'em a whirl."

11/21/21 Came in on a rainy day for some breakfast. Wait time was minimal even though they were short staffed. Food was good, not bad but not superb. Menu had numerous amount of options as well. Customer service was nice and food came out fast. Overall good experience would come again

The overwhelming smell and feel in the air of hot water and cleaning supplies is uncomfortable. The servers are all very sweet and genuine but they have young girls at the hostess desk every time we've been and I know they are young but they have not learned basic respect and manors within the food service industry. Food takes a long time but they're always busy so it makes sense. Coffee is very watered down and to me the only good thing on the menu is their omelets.

The best place for breakfast! Huge portions of food and moderately priced. The place was very crowded, but we were seated right away. The staff did a great job! Fresh quality food expertly prepared.

An elegant greasy spoon with some Mexican oriented classics. Skillets are generous and great. Awesome breakfast spot.

Server was good the fare was fair at best.onion rings were dripping with grease the Pattie melt was very lite on onions an the burger was tasteless. Hostess was not engaging .at paying I mentioned the onion rings were greasy the response was yea that are.

Service was not any good. Waited until after my meal for a drink refill. No check in from our server.

First time here for me but most of my family has been here several times. We had a group of 12 and they accommodated us quickly. They have a large menu with options for everyone. I had the gyro and for a breakfast place, it was really good. We also ordered the veggie quesadilla, biscuits & gravy, taco salad, Lux burger, and had the clam chowder we. All were good and no issues. The prices are reasonable. We all really like their fries - they are the battered which most of us prefer. Good solid Goshen staple

I thought it was an ok place. Clean. We both ordered the 2 egg breakfast with toast, potatoes and meat. We both received 4 eggs each and a huge mound of potatoes. Way too much food. Bacon was very good. Toast was overly chewy.

The absolute best Eggs Benedict I have ever had and I'm 69yrs old. I had to let the cook know my extreme satisfaction. He just happened to be the owner and appreciate my comments. I will be going here again soon!

I'm so torn on this review. The food was decent, good really. It was better than I expected actually. My problem though, and why I knocked them down to two stars, was with the bathroom. It was dirty. I had no toilet paper and realized that a little too late. I had to text a friend to come in and hand me paper towel. It was 11am. You should not be out of toilet paper at 11am. Most likely it was an after thought the night before. That's not acceptable. I might order to go but I'm sure not going back in to stay.

If your looking for a good breakfast, come here. I ate here 3 days while I was in town, and everything was very good. The options on the menu are quite large, and offers something for everyone. The staff was very friendly. The prices here are almost as outstanding as the food. I feel for the portion size, this place is a bargain! There is definitely a diner vibe here, with the large glass pane windows and booth seating.

Yep, best breakfast in town! Good sized portions at a reasonable price with quick service. I ordered the gyro scramble because it sounded interesting and I like gyros. Plus it came with pancakes, which were delicious. The scramble was huge and very refreshing with fresh tomatoes and feta. The sauce comes on the side but one little taste and I smeared it over the whole thing. I get to eat some later too because there was too much for one meal. Wife ordered 2 eggs and bacon (boring). However it came with 4 eggs and the waitress said everything is doubled. Not sure why. Hers came with a slice of French toast, which she said was good. Overall a very nice place for breakfast and we'll be back for sure... But we'll split a meal next time.

Not as good as usual. I've eaten at Lux many times. It's always decent and often very good. Tonight, I ordered the Hot Beef Manhattan. A while later, we were told they were out of roast beef :( I changed to the Turkey Manhattan. The turkey itself was tender but the mashed potatoes were thin, the gravy lacked flavor and the meal was barely warm. I'll go back to Lux again this trip as it's convenient and usually much better - but tonight was a bit disappointing.

Generous portions, reasonable price and quick service. Extensive menu, lots of options and breakfast served all day. The gyros are large and were decent with fresh toppings. Sandwiches come with a side and soup, the soup options change daily. Creamy potato was good with small chunks of potatoes. Generally older crowd, no children seen at dinner.

Good food. Affordable pricing. Breakfast is awesome as is the coffee. Only caveat is they close early so get there before 3.

Great experience having breakfast at this restaurant. Portions are huge and tasty! Two of us split an omelette breakfast and still had leftovers. Watching the staff work together as a team was enjoyable too. If you are looking for a job they are hiring!

Lux is one of the best breakfast and lunch options in Goshen. They offer a diner-like vibe and huge plate portions. The atmosphere is loud, you can hear the kitchen working and since it is always busy there's lots of conversations going on from customers. If you go for lunch, practically every lunch option comes a bowl of soup and I highly recommend their tomato basil soup. It's one of my favorites! Sometimes for lunch I'll order just the soup to go. Plate sizes are huge and since it comes with soup I'm usually always taking half of my meal home. So go with an appetite! Service is fast, I can easily go in and have a sitdown meal and leave over a lunch hour.

I hadn't been to Lux Cafe in a couple of years, decided to stop by and have breakfast today... big mistake. The problem isn't the food, food is great at Lux but the service has always been terrible (main reason I hadn't come back in years) both of the hostesses were rude just as I remembered from my last visit so I decided to walk out and never come back. If you're in Goshen just do some research and you'll find much better places than Lux Cafe.

Lux has been a favorite restaurant of mine for a very long time. The servers are friendly and knowledgeable. The prices are reasonable with good sized portions. The food tastes great and is brought to your table promptly. The dining area is pleasant and clean. The people busing tables are constantly working hard. This is definitely a good place to go for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

The food is great, the service is usually very good, and at a great price waitresses are very friendly
