Beautiful museum, very informative. We arrived in Luxembourg in the early afternoon with the goal of exploring the city and getting a few bites to eat. My partner wanted to explore this museum. It was €5 per person. Reception was very friendly and explained how to go through the museum— bottom to top. The 4th floor was unfortunately closed for renovations, so we were unable to see that. However, the rest of the museum was extremely detailed. We loved the topological maps on the lower levels. Our favorite section was floor 5. You can get postcard paper and stamp it throughout the exhibit, creating a wonderful view of Luxembourg.

The museum is very interesting and cognitive. There are 5 floors showing the history of Luxembourg from foundation to the modern day. Lots of historical artefacts, pictures and models of the city at different times. There’s a beautiful view from the top terrace and very slow moving glass elevator.

Great museum with the biggest elevator in Europe! Good AC in summer, free water and menstrual products!!! I wish they had some magnets in the museum shop, I didn't buy anything now.

Lovely museum not too overwhelming but quite informative. The route is chronological and app guidance is fairly clear. The view of the terrace is pretty. Two or three hour should do for the entire trip.

I see Luxembourg as one of the best places to understand nationalism. It’s so small and linguistically diverse, yet it has developed its own form of nationalism. Perhaps patriotism and nationalism are often so naturalized that it’s hard to recognize their constructed nature. That’s why the city history museum offers a valuable opportunity to observe the contingency of nationalism and the human efforts involved in fostering and maintaining national cohesion.

Extensive amount of information, presented in an engaging way. Learnt lots about the history of Luxembourg. €5 for adult ticket which also includes free entry to Villa Vauban. Interesting temporary exhibition about languages on at the time of writing this review. Great outdoor view of the Grund area from upper levels.

If you have 1-1,5h -> go there! We learnt many interesting things about Luxemburg, EU and languages. Even my teenage son enjoyed this visit.

Luxembourg City History Museum made a great impression! I was especially pleased that the entrance is free for young people - it’s always nice. It was a weekday, and there were practically no people, which created the feeling that the whole museum was at your disposal. The expositions are interesting and diverse, you can safely walk and study the history of the city at least for a whole day. A great place for a leisurely dive into the culture and past of Luxembourg!
