Luz Cafe

This is a little heaven in east village. The garden is so cool and all employees are so welcoming and friendly. All dishes I’ve tried so far where so good too and I heard my neighbor table calling their meal the “best meal ever”. The only change that I would love would be no plastic cups or containers. It’s so much waste and drinking matcha out of a nice class or cup and eating acaii out of real bowls is just a different feeling and it fits the vibe way more. <3 Love this place And maybe lil cocktail nights or mini events ? ;))) Like semi healthy cocktails after learning there or enjoying a Hugo there wow

🙋 What a night🌃 😋Got a bite to eat at Restaurant Luz🫒🥣🫒. This vegan friendly plant based restaurant was perfect for a December night. Upon arrival we quickly felt at eased and welcomed🙋🙋‍♀️. Comfortable place to seat down and dine in🍽️. The atmosphere was amazing🌟There was a joyous vibe throughout the place. The staff was very nice and friendly. There was pride and love in the look of the place. The other customers seating next to us were very polite too. The was a 👍😁Beautiful, gorgeous decor scenery that I took a picture of but sadly was deleted so I added a picture that I googled to show the door in the back that adds to the magic of the place💫 Very the beautiful🤗 The food was delicious 👩‍🍳🫒👨‍🍳. Definitely try one of their flatbread🥖😋 Thanks to my good friend Li💁🏻‍♀️for the invite. Major 🙌to your restaurant🥄🫒🥄 Definitely highly recommended and planning to go back🤗

I attended a private event there. The poor waitress was brand new and alone which was shocking. She ran herself ragged, poor lady doing her best to handle a sizeable group by herself. She did her best and kudos to her, but the restaurant should have provided two servers. The flat bread is delicious and I liked the burger dwluxe as well. I had the GF bun which is definitely made in house and seemed very healthy. I'd try the regular bun next time. They didn't have ketchup for the fries and I couldn't get any other sauce for dipping. My main complaint really is that sitting by the folding doors which were not latched into the closed position made my food cold very quickly due to the draft. My companion and I dined with our coats on. These issues all could have been dealt with easily if there was more staff on hand. I'd give them another shot, because I enjoyed the food.

I remember Yaffa Cafe fondly so I was excited to try LUZ. They have a great patio space which is very nicely appointed. Friendly service. I liked the flatbread with pesto - tasty would have liked more of the Ricotta. I personally didn’t find the Romaesco very flavorful. The frozen oat milk ice cream was disappointing. There’s some really great vegan ice cream out there so not sure why this was such a miss. I would go back to try the lasagna and have a glass of wine. They do have bowls which sound super healthy but didn’t inspire me in any way. It would I have been nice to have a leafy green salad on the menu. Maybe something With a ginger carrot dressing for old time sake :) If I lived closer I would drop by for a latte or glass of wine.

This place was magical!. Lol. This is a wonderful spot. Family owned business. The food here was awesome!.. Had the avocado flatbread. My friend had the burger and we had another flatbread dish. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the name. They sell a tasty Pinot grigio named duck from Portugal. It paired well with my meal. Anyway, the flatbreads are great and filling. I was fortunate to meet the family that night and they provided excellent customer service. Lastly, the lasagna. The lasagna was awesome!! I was blown away. Some of the best lasagna I had.. 🤔🤔🤔made the best. Lastly, special note to the owners. Thank you for the birthday lasagna!!! This is a place I have to come back to. Try some of this vegan food when y'all are on your drinking night..

Had the best time here on Friday! The food was great and I’m not even vegan! We tried the beet tartar and the pesto flatbread, and not only was it beautifully presented, but it was delicious! Drinks were great as well! The garden space in the back is absolutely breathtaking. You almost feel as if you’re not in Manhattan anymore. Can’t wait to come back and try more!

Enjoyed the zucchini lasagna which was light and flavored with basil. The watermelon jalapeño was too diluted and watery. Beautiful backyard and friendly service.

They are open on Sundays! Went in on a Sunday afternoon for an iced matcha. It was $8 including tip. The vibe is very relaxing and they have a great garden in the back. This would be a great place to work or get together with friends. They have many coffee/drink options as well as food.
