This is a follow up to the Airbnb review. Hot water issues meant we had no hot water in our showers for two days. We knew there was no air conditioner with the stay. As there was no air conditioners in our prior two stays this trip (one in a rain forest and one in a cloud forest). This was the only place that needed it. I don’t think anyone of us had a good night sleep in 4 days. Guests visiting should expect to have comfortable stays. Cheap hotels had a/c. Either install a/c or let people know what to expect. This was our most expensive stay per night by far and it was not worth the price. The staff, food and wildlife were the only reason I didn’t give it a 1 star.
This edit is in response to the business reply. When we checked in, we were told the hot water was not 100% and that cold showers would feel good. The first two days, the hot water was hit or miss, so if you stayed in long enough, you could get enough hot shower to shower. It was managable. Day 3 there was no hot water. Day 4, when we checked out, no one wanted to deal with it anymore. I did and it was only cold water again. Since the staff knew about it on check-in, why tell them again if they could not fix it at that point. As to the AC, I knew the space did not have when we booked it. When I am backpacking, I expect the heat/humidity. As with our other two bookings, we knew there was no AC and it wasn't needed. We just assumed that near the beach and up a hill, we would have cool breezes which was why we went with the booking. The fans really did not cool off the rooms (and they were pretty loud). People need to know that this space does not cool off naturally, even with the fans. And as I mentioned before, not worth the price we paid.
