Lviv National Art Gallery - Borys Voznytsky

Has very interesting artwork and paintings. It’s a nice place to visit also at site is very pretty to take pictures. However there wasn’t much in the backyard there are a lot of parts but the explanation of the parts are not in a very detailed. It’s a really great place to be sure and relax and just have a look enjoys art and get a feel of saw artist bringing paintbrush to actually try to copy the painting and I am impressed by how much the gallery encourage people doing that! Good job on this

I really enjoyed this gallery wonderful art from the Ukrainian art scene it's a very quiet museum and you can take your time enjoying all the museum has to offer. The good thing is that there is also English explanations in each painting which is a little bit rare to find in the museums in Lviv. Also I need to point out that this is one of the most expensive museums in the City compared to the others it's approximately 150 local currency.

Tickets are not cheap, but I highly recommend to pay. This is great place with enormous number exceptional paintings. There are a lot of works od art from Polish artist, for instance Matejko, Malczewski. The staff is kind. Interior is interesting. I was delighted.

An exhibition of angels takes place these days in Lviv Art Gallery. A great scale event, represented in paintings, graphics, sculptures of angels and reflecting the Bible events. Works of painters of different times, nations, styles and manners. Watching this exhibition one really touches the eternity, finding oneself in high spiritual world, in the world of something completely different from everyday life. One can experience eternity through the viewpoint of great painters, sculptors. Known and unknown. And ponder about the eternal points of life. Organizers of this exhibition has carried out a great work. Great thanks to them.

A few rooms, good collection mostly paintings. Mostly c19th (and what seems like Polish artists) but some c18 and c20th. Id give it a c+ or 6/10, as far as collections go. Very little information about each painting or the collection in general and where there was more information it would of course only be in Ukraine. Looks like there is reconstruction and renovation of the building going on with view to expansion. Any collection such as this in a city such as Lviv needs English translation or audio guides.

This gallery provides a really big collection of paintings from all over Europe, the interiours as well represent the real interiors of the late 18th - mid 19th century. Save a half-day for this museum and preferably in the first part of the day. Even though you can book a guide,what I would recommend is to have your mobile internet turned on so you can check on any artist you will find interesting. Definetly highly recommend!

The exhibition is really badly presented - the only interior light in the rooms are big, old chandeliers emitting really warm, weak light; furthermore the paintings in restoration got replaced by photographs from the Ukrainian war, which totally doesn't fit into the theme and distracts the spectator from the Art.
