Yelp
Overall, this was a solid and pleasant stay for me. Quick overview of the place:
((PROS))
--Location: Outstanding. Lybeers is conveniently close to everything you would need (supermarket, restaurants, atm, etc). You really can't go wrong staying here.
-Room: I stayed in a single and it was great! I paid just a bit more than staying in a dorm room and the perks that came with this was: bed already made + comforter & towel provided + sink in the room = nice. If you stay in a dorm room (I saw my friend's place that had six people), be warned that there is limited space for your belongings and that the room may feel a bit cramped.
--Amenities: Free wifi (which was quick and reliable)/ kitchen (where you can cook/store your own food) / common room (perfect to chill / meet other guests) / bar (awesome happy hour for beer) / free luggage storage (helpful for early check in or storing luggage) / free maps & guides / overall, Lybeers was quite solid in offering useful features to their guests.
--Hostel Activities: Loveeeee the pub crawl! Highly recommend doing this if you're strapped for time and want to know about the fun local spots and such (quick shout out to Shiva who was a great host for the pub crawl!). Lybeers also does free walking tours and beer tasting, so make sure to look into those activities!
--Pricing: Very reasonable! Book far in advance if you're requesting a single and such. :)
((CONS))
--Bathrooms: There's a weird bathroom set up if you happened to end up in a non-ensuite room. Each floor has its own variation of the toilet/shower/sink and on the third floor, there was 1 separate shower only room, 1 toilet + shower connected, and 1 sink room only. For me, if I realllly wanted to pee and someone happened to shower in the toilet + shower room, then I would need to search for another open toilet on the other floors (which also had limited number of toilets).
--No lift/elevator: If you happen to stay on the 3rd floor........be warned that there is no elevator/lift. So time to use your muscles to haul up your belongings! Be careful when going up/down the stairs since the steps are quite small.
--Staff: Hit or miss....sometimes it can be a challenge to find the staff and some of the people weren't too friendly. Overall though, the ones I did get a chance to talk to were pretty chill.
--Security: There are 24hour cameras situated in the building, but it's a little irking to see that ANYONE can just walk on in (no extra requirement to get in the front door during the day) and walk up the stairs like it's nothing. So do exercise some caution and remember to lock your door.
Despite some of the cons, it didn't ruin my experience here much. I would recommend this place to any solo traveler / people when visiting Bruges.
