This is without a doubt the worst accommodation I've ever stayed in, including the time I slept on the floor underneath the seats at Hong Kong airport. The pods are sweltering hot (the loud exhaust fans do nothing) and the bright room lights cannot be turned off; the door slams every time someone comes in or out. I don't think it's possible for me to sleep here. No toiletries are provided which I was not aware of. The kitchen is overcrowded. For $70/night it's not even that cheap. This is the first of 6 nights I booked, I feel like just packing up and going home. Very upset Edit: the staff are very nice, no complaints there but unfortunately confirmed that the lights are seemingly unable to be turned off. There are some good things about the place like the community feeling in the common areas, very nice and well behaved guests. The shower facilities are also good. The hot conditions in the room are probably not very easy to solve. But providing a dark room is a low bar for a hotel.

Fantastic stay. Miss Lucy’s had a great menus & reasonably priced for the traveler. The staff are very knowledgeable & Simon from the travel agency was helping with the hostel amenities. It hour he was employed by the hostel. Great business partners make a great location. My wife & I are mature & seasoned travels. 5 stars just doesn’t cut it. Love to give them a higher rating. Outstanding stay.

We had an amazing stay here during our honeymoon! The location was perfect, and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier. A special shoutout to Jordan, the travel expert, who went above and beyond to help plan our tours and even surprised us with free tickets to a sold-out bar crawl. The hostel had everything we needed — a full kitchen, a great restaurant with an excellent breakfast and bar, and clean, comfortable rooms. The atmosphere was social yet relaxed, with plenty of spaces to unwind. Truly one of the best hostels we’ve ever stayed at!

We had a wonderful stay at Lylo Auckland. Would highly reccomend for an affordable overnight stay walking distance to the city and other things. We were a group of 10 adults in auckland for a concert at Eden Park! Lylo had everything we needed for somewhere to stay, eat and drink. Super friendly and helpful staff, beautifully clean rooms cant complain.

Stayed here for a full week, due to a couple of concerts in Auckland. Rooms are surprisingly spacious (about 2 meters length, just enough for me to be comfortable in), amenities are spaced out evenly and conveniently, and the central location makes it a very good choice, especially for those looking for a relatively cheap stay. The only minor complaint I would really make is the air conditioning: in summer, it can get really stuffy, making it difficult to sleep in. I imagine in winter, however, there'd be less issue. So, with that in mind, I would highly recommend at least giving LyLo a chance for your next trip to Auckland

I had a great experience with the staff at Lylo Auckland. Despite unexpected travel issues, they were extremely kind, understanding, and efficient in helping me. Their warm support really made a difficult trip much better. Highly recommend staying here!

Facilties at the hostel are great such as the kitchen and bathrooms, staff are also friendly and helpful. BUT, the pod rooms are unbearably hot and stuffy, the 'ventilation' they quote is a tiny and noisy fan that does nothing in terms of ventilation. After two nights here I switched to another hostel as I couldn't sleep due to the heat. After speaking to the receptionist it seems to be a common problem especially in spring and summer, which poses the question why nothing has been done about it. The rooms really need an air-conditioning unit in them. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you are happy sleeping in incredibly hot and stuffy rooms.

We stayed at Lylo two times for 2 nights each time. It is a friendly place but the amenities are not exceptional. I would say that it’s great for social people traveling alone and looking to make friends. However, their system of self check-in works perfectly and is great to use.
