Rooms very smal but very functional, clean and tidy. Service was excellent on both occasions. While we didn't use it much, there is a big clean kitchen with plenty of fridges to store food and a clean and open common area. Location excellent- a short and very easy 10 min walk from airport; a 1min walk to a heap of restaurants for dinnwr and a 10$ Uber to Jucy car rentals. Overall exceptional value.

Had a great stay at LyLo Christchurch! The receptionist was incredibly accommodating, professional, and genuinely kind, a special shout-out to her even though we unfortunately forgot to get her name. The hotel is budget-friendly, clean, and surprisingly spacious. Its location near the airport is very convenient, and it’s also easily accessible to restaurants and supermarkets, which made our stay even better. Overall, a comfortable and hassle-free experience. Highly recommended and would definitely stay here again!

Our ensuite room was more spacious than expected. There was one bed bug but we did not get bitten overnight so that's... good? I honestly didnt bother telling the staff because the one working at the desk did not seem very attentive to guests and we highly doubted they'd let us switch rooms. Otherwise, the room was good, and location was very convenient next to shops, food, gym, and of course the airport.

Landing at 1am in the morning and having this so close to the Airport was great. The lady at the check-in desk was amazing and super friendly, especially considering how late it was. This was my first time staying in a shared room and I loved it, and I was a little concerned considering how tall I am, but the Pod was comfy and I was able to fit in. This is 100% better in service and cleanliness than the one in Queenstown. The only downside was having to pay extra to store luggage, but the prices for that were at least reasonable and fairly cheap. I will definitely return.

Great value for money and very convenient to walk from the airport. Friendly and helpful staff at reception. Well signposted apart from bathrooms, but not hard to find. Clean and modern. Lovely big lounge and kitchen! Pods were good sized and cosy. Blackout curtain worked very well. One flat pillow so woke up with a sore neck and common areas had a bit of a stale odour. Room doors make a loud click which cant be avoided so earplugs were handy to have

Had a night at the LyLo Christchurch airport; super convenient location of course. Easy checkin (and checkout); functional small room - as advertised. Decent bathroom. Given the nature of people staying there, mostly international travellers, there was a lot of coming & going from rooms during the night. People arriving or leaving for flights etc. Overall not a bad experience, as a good location - just didn’t get much sleep

Ricky at reception is fantastic! He is the most hospitable staff I've ever encountered at this type of accommodation. He deserves a medal! Hangout area (lounge & kitchen) is huge, tranquil, and very relaxed. Showers are good with place to hang dry clothes and hot water with great pressure. The whole place is very quiet despite being close to a highway and obviously close to the airport (7min walk). The pods are spacious and comfortable. I'm tall and I fit in with room to spare. Each pod has a power socket, lights, extractor fan (which sadly is quite noisy), a smoke detector, and place to keep valuables. I will definitely choose LyLo in the future where it fits my travels.

Close to Christchurch airport. A great option for a few hours layover or a place to catch a few zzzz's before heading of on your adventures. Rooms adequate and clean for resting up with comfortable beds, good shower and bathroom facilities.

Yelp
Pod hostel! Plenty of parking, really friendly staff. Beds, pillow, and duvet are really comfortable, bathrooms are plentiful and clean. Common area and kitchen are also huge, kitchen is well stocked. Not very social though. One comment: female dorm rooms are more expensive than mixed dorms. Is that fair? Let's think about why women might want women-only dorms. One reason is because men are often creepy and don't treat women the way we should be treated. As a result, we feel safer in women's dorms. So not only do we already have to pay for period products for about 40 years of our lives in additional to birth control, the discomfort / fear / anxiety coming from how men treat us is being capitalized on? Think again, hostel owners.

Yelp
I was in New Zealand for work and decided to take a quick solo trip to Christchurch because I'd never been there. I didn't want to spend too much on accommodation, so I booked a night at LyLo. I got a queen room with a private bathroom, and it was very clean and simple. The room was a bit small and lacked amenities, but I didn't mind since I only paid about USD $100 for the night. There is a small shopping plaza next door with some fast food restaurants and a grocery store. The hostel is also nearby CHC airport. It does take about 15-20 minutes by car to get to the city center though. Overall I had a good experience. FYI JUCY Snooze has now been rebranded to LyLo.

Yelp
It is unlikely that we would stay in this particular Jucy snooze again given that we were just a bit far away from Christchurch centre. However, it is perfect if you're just flying in to make your way somewhere else in the South Island. The room was simple and clean, albeit small. Beds ok. The downstairs area and kitchen are pretty cool. Nice reception staff. It was only a one night stay for my husband, daughter and I. We were able to walk to the International Antarctic Centre right behind the hotel, and spent a few hours there - great to visit. We would certainly stay in other Jucy Snoozes elsewhere, like the one in Queenstown because it is much more central. On a needs basis, we would stay here again.
