Lyth Valley Country House

Brilliant place to stay, host Pip was lovely and told us a great walk to go on. They happily made me a vegan breakfast both mornings which was really good and needed before a day of walking up hills, my partner enjoyed the regular full English too. Room and bathroom were clean and very comfortable, lovely place. Dog friendly as well which is an added bonus. Location is a little out the way although there are plenty of walks nearby, although there isn't a pub particularly close by, they sell drinks on site so no need to worry. Will hopefully be returning soon!

A truly fantastic hotel to stay at. The wife and I have just returned from a great two night stay at Lyth Valley Hotel. Lovely clean, spacious and airy rooms with fabulous views. The staff really helped to make the stay extra special, from Phil, who's natural enthusiasm for life and eagerness to make you feel welcome was hugely appreciated. The two young ladies at breakfast were polite, courteous and helpful, beyond there years. The unseen breakfast chef was VERY good at specific requests and the lady who kept these lovely rooms in showroom condition was really friendly and clearly happy in her job. Breakfast was great and for the wife and I, it was exactly what breakfast should be like. Without any doubt, the wife and I will return here and probably with relatives.

This is an absolutely stunning B&B. Gorgeous location with a beautiful interior and surrounding walks. We were greeted by the Assistant Manager Phil - who was so knowledgable about the area, very welcoming and made us feel right at home! He is a fantastic staff member. The room was stunning, with beautiful furnishing and a wonderful bathroom. Breakfast in the morning is definitely worth it!

Tucked away in the most peaceful location, this was really a perfect stay. The room had gorgeous views over the countryside and gardens. As we checked in after 5pm, there was no one to check us in, but the owners kept in contact and sent me via WhatsApp, walk by walk instructions as how to find our room and get settled in. Only downside was that there was no air con, and during the heatwave week it was difficult to sleep. Bedroom was tastefully decorated and had everything we needed. Breakfast was delicious with amazing fresh coffee, served on the terrace. Very friendly and kind hosts who even gave us a few free soft drinks on the house on our last morning. Although we didn't use it, the honesty bar was a great touch to make this place feel like home away from home.

Pros: location and the balcony view (balcony is a shared one) Cons: very saggy mattress, room is not as clean as expected, a lot of insects in the room, breakfast is not worth half the price you actually pay for. Bottom line, it was an ok..ish experience, but will never return here, sorry...

100% the best place to stay here. The hosts were super friendly, breakfast was incredible and the rooms were top notch! Scenery in the surrounding area is stunning! WiFi was hit and miss and there's not much signal, but other than that - superb!

Excellent stay. The food was exceptional and cant be recommended enough. The staff are all brilliant, friendly and invested in making your stay as good as possible. Hope it stays a hidden gem so we can easily book again but want it to be a real success for the family and team there.

We have just come back from a four night break at the Lyth Valley Country House. We had a wonderful family holiday - fifteen of us and three generations. We had the whole house and did self catering, except for one night when Phil The Chef and his wife Nadine came in to cater for our evening meal, which was totally delicious. . It was amazing from start to finish. Spectacular views of The Lyth Valley from all the rooms. Beautiful bedrooms all en suite . We all enjoyed the Hot Tub from our 8 year old to 74 year old. the Owners are so welcoming and on hand if we needed anything. I would highly recommend a stay here. Jill & Phil McConnell and Family
