About 2½ weeks ago I brought my daughter into this hospital because I was concerned that her bowels might be impacted, she was in a lot of pain and has IBS so she is no stranger to pain, but this time felt different for her. So I brought her into this place where most of the night staff spent the next 8½ hours avoiding her, and when they weren't able to avoid her, made sure we knew they didn't want her there. Intake was fine, they were nice to her, but once we got her into a room, this emotionless red haired nurse came in to put an IV into my daughter's arm. My daughter is autistic and asked the nurse if she was able to put the IV into her forearm instead of the inside of her elbow, and said if she wasn't able to, it would be ok. The nurse, instead of just telling her she wouldn't be able to after looking at her arm, instead took her time shoving the needle into my daughter's forearm, then pulling it most of the way out before moving it around and shoving it back in again, over and over. My daughter was in a lot of pain and was crying. The nurse just kept going, before taking the needle out and doing the same thing again on a different part of my daughter's forearm. My daughter told her to just please put it wherever was best as she was in a lot of pain and the nurse finally just put the IV into her inner elbow. My daughter's arm is still so bruised from the first 2 times, the 3rd spot is fine but her arm is just covered in bruises still. The nurse was apathetic about the whole thing. She got her IV bag hooked up and was told she would have a CT scan soon. Then, about an hour later, the one really nice person who worked there named Kylie came to get her for a CT scan and I thought ok it was just the nurse that was off and the rest of the people here will be nice, and then the DR came in later and was polite enough but definitely not a warm person, said he ordered an enema for her and that someone would be in soon to administer it for her. Hours later and I'm sure the red haired nurse was just waiting out her shift to avoid doing this, a Muslim nurse came in and I thought maybe she would be nice, but she was practically seething that the job was left for her. She even said nobody likes doing these things and instead of being gentle with my daughter, she hurt her and my daughter bled for days afterward. I will never go to this hospital again, for any reason. I will go miles out of my way to go somewhere else, where people actually care about their patients. Avoid this place like the plague of you have to bring someone you love in for help. I would give zero stars if I could.
