The M Lounge is a nice new place in the Lake Ivanhoe area down on N. Orange Avenue, just South of the hospital. Because it's fairly new, staffing seems to be rather slim at the bar. Took me 20 minutes to get a drink upstairs on the rooftop. For this reason and the class the bar is trying to attain, I had to give 4 stars, instead of 5. Quick and efficient bar service is key. The 3 guys behind me left to go to another place because of it. I was with a party so I wasn't going anywhere. However, the guy playing Lady Gaga on his electric violin, did help the wait. Loved it!
There are actually several spots down in this area that I just adore for its artsy unique flare. However, The M Lounge has just stepped up the game here. This lounge just enhanced this area and marked it with a unique bit of vintage class and style. Perfect area for it. The M Lounge is very unique to the area and is sure to catch the eye of all age groups. I noticed a nice blend of clientele, which is nice. If you like old cars, whisky, and wine ( just to name a few) this is definitely the place for you!
The M Lounge offers free valet (don't forget some cash to tip the valet), downstairs is full of old antique cars with a very large open space and plenty of comfy areas to gather together with friends. Play some pool on one of the car tables and when your finished, close out your tab and head upstairs to the rooftop bar to enjoy music air and a surprisingly beautiful view of the area. Great place for a birthday or other group gathering.
If you are out to visit more than one place, this would be a great place to start. Other nearby walking distance places to check out are the Antique Wine bar, the caboose or, you could head over to the Lucky Lure for a game of oversized Jenga. A little further south, try out The Hammered Lamb and enjoy a train shot, it's like koolaide (dangerous) or, The Hideaway, over in Virginia is always a great spot, parking is a challenge there though. A nice blend of patrons in this area, definitely a better blend then what you would find with the downtown crowd.
I love this area a lot and there are still many others not mentioned here. I will have to just bring you more reviews on those later.
Take uber for sure and don't ruin your toes with fancy uncomfortable heels if you don't have to. This area is artsy but still very casual too. Have fun and drink responsibly.
