I stayed in Suite Sé (IX) for three nights over the holidays, and it was easily one of my favorite hotel experiences. The staff was exceptional! Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and ready to help with whatever we needed. One highlight was the breakfast service. Being able to order the night before and have it delivered to our room each morning (for an additional fee) was a treat. The options included a selection of breads, yogurts, fruit, meat and cheese, bacon, and a variety of egg preparations. The location was perfect! The hotel is right in the heart of the city, making it easy to walk everywhere we wanted to go. Despite being so central, it was quiet at night, and we loved sitting on our terrace in the evenings listening to the street performers. The bed was very comfortable, and the internet performed well for both working and streaming movies or TV shows. I had some initial concerns based on other reviews, specifically about the bathroom privacy and the need to ring the doorbell to enter the hotel. Neither turned out to be an issue. There ended up being nothing to worry about with the bathroom setup, and I never waited more than 30–60 seconds to be let in to the hotel. Overall, this was a fantastic stay and a hotel I’d happily to return to, and recommend to others, without hesitation!

Wonderful Stay for a Three Night Porto Adventure We found this to be a lovely hotel to explore Porto. We booked Room IX (9), and we particularly enjoyed the balcony overlooking a beautiful and active Porto square (while enjoying incredible views of the cathedral and Porto rooftops, as well as live music each evening). This is a boutique hotel with only 10 rooms and proactive service throughout by a welcoming team. Breakfast each morning was very delicious (and personalized each evening – both time and menu – the night before). There is also a nice coffee offering and honor bar throughout the day. The location is perfect to walk to any Porto activity. We did not once Uber or taxi during our three days in Porto. Room IX (9) is incredible and we’d look forward to staying again. One watch point: the bathroom configuration does not have a traditional bathroom door and therefore a bit less privacy.

Fantastic stay in Room II. Spent 3 nights last month on impromptu trip to Porto. We literally booked the stay while on plane enroute to Porto. This property is a 10-room, boutique hotel providing excellent service in a fantastic central location. Room was very comfortable with private outdoor patio. Breakfast was cooked to order with fresh bread/homemade jams/local honey/ house made yogurt, etc… Hotel arranged an excellent dinner and offered lots of options for tours. Will stay again. Fantastic service from entire staff. Thanks to Marco, Philippa, and Susan for their excellent attention to detail.

This is by far our favorite hotel we've stayed in. Beautifully decorated and a family-run feel. The location was central on a great pedestrian street not far from the river. Breakfast was included and very good. I recommend staying in the top floor terrace room - the view is stunning!

My husband and I spent 5 nights at M Maison Particulière, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. It was by far the best place we have ever stayed. First of all, the property is stunningly beautiful. The details they have put into the decor and preserving the history do not go unnoticed. We stayed in suite 4 (Spanish masters) and loved everything about the room. The dining room was also gorgeous, as was the lobby and the garden area. Everyone who worked there was gracious and kind, making us feel like they were welcoming us into their home. Lastly, the location was perfect, on a vibrant square filled with shops and restaurants, a short walk from the river, the city center, livraria lello, and many other sites. Do not pass up this hidden gem!

My favorite hotel of all time. The location on a pedestrian square was excellent and we had fantastic music from the street performances each day and night - although the room was soundproofed when we closed the doors. This hotel has been perfectly rebuilt to a very high standard and the rooms are beautiful and spacious. Every little detail was expertly constructed and has been meticulously maintained. The service that Marco and Susanna provided was very professional and helpful. I cannot say enough good things about this property and we loved our stay in Porto.

Absolutely beautiful hotel, dating to the mid 16th century, retaining many original features. Attention to detail was exacting. Susanna and the team could not have been more attentive. Great location for the water front and centre of Porto.

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The service was exceptional, and from the moment we arrived, we were treated like VIPs. The front desk staff were professional, helpful, and went above and beyond to make our stay feel special. They remembered us and kept our room key whenever we left the hotel, which was a nice touch.||The breakfast is ordered the night before, but this ensures that all items are cooked fresh. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful.||The hotel's location is ideal for exploring beautiful Porto. It sits on a picturesque street lined with plenty of bars and restaurants. We especially enjoyed the turndown service and the lovely terrace outside our room, which featured a stunning 16th-century blue tile wall.||We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. It offers a five-star boutique experience, and you truly feel welcome and special throughout your stay.
