Ma Bourgogne

Ma Bourgogne is a classic Parisian brasserie located right on Place des Vosges, with a very pleasant atmosphere and an unmistakably traditional setting. Sitting here feels authentic and lively, especially thanks to the location and the typical brasserie décor. The food is good and well executed, with a menu focused on traditional French dishes. I tried the onion soup, which was comforting and correctly prepared, and the boeuf bourguignon, served in a cast-iron pot, rich and flavorful, although not particularly memorable compared to other places in Paris offering the same dish. Overall, everything was enjoyable, but nothing truly stood out. It’s a solid choice if you are in the area and want a reliable brasserie experience, however there are better options in Paris if food is your main priority. Good atmosphere, decent food, but not a must-visit.

I was craving a classic steak au poivre and they had it. Was so tender and easy to slice through, like butter. The restaurant is next to the beautiful park and has great vibes to people watch — or if you prefer, a quiet meal inside.

Despite the recent retirement of the former owners, this little cafe/restaurant is still my favourite on Place des Vosges. Focus on traditional French cuisine. A great selection of wines. Wonderful covered terrace beneath the Alcoves of the Place and a quaint interior. Try the chocolate dessert - phenomenal.

My wife was kind enough to make a booking for us to have dinner on a Friday evening. Thanks to the weather, it was still warm enough to sit outside and it adds to the atmosphere. We shared an Oeufs Meurette to start, and I had the Boeuf Bourgignon, whilst she had the Truffle Pasta and we shared a Crêpe Suzette for dessert. Along with a bottle of Chateldon water and an espresso the total bill was € 81.00, which was good value. The service was the stand out for us though, the servers were warm, engaging, attentive and genuinely lovely people. Highly recommended...

We discovered this gem while on our way to Victor Hugo's home across the plaza. We made reservations for Wednesday night August 20, 2025. It was not busy with many tables available. The restaurant has a charming atmosphere with its antique furniture and low ceilings, and a strong emphasis on French cuisine complemented by excellent service. I started with the escargot, served with fresh bread, and it was outstanding. Our waiter suggested a red wine that paired perfectly with the escargot. I also ordered the onion soup and the cheese plate, both of which were very good. For dessert, I enjoyed the mango sorbet and the hazelnut ice cream, and both were delicious. The server was knowledgeable and patient, offering great suggestions without pressuring us to choose more expensive dishes or rush our meal. The plates came in perfect timing. MA Bourgogne truly deserves five stars. I highly recommend this restaurant and plan to return on my next trip to Paris.

Lovely bistro at an upscale neighbourhood. Tartar had too much ketchup and salad ordered was tasteless. We left without eating leas than a half. Service was polite and professional. Just time to look for new kitchen staff maybe and source better quality ingredients.

We had such a wonderful dinner tonight. The food was great, the view was so nice (we were sitting outside). We had onion soup, cheese platter, artichoke and of course beef bourguignon. For dessert we had the apple tart. On top of that, service was great, Arnaud was super nice and made us feel so comfortable.

Lovely French restaurant in a classical old style. Excellent service with a smile.
