Google
We enjoyed our luncheon 😄 here in September 2023 recommended by tripplanner.ai; First lunch I had in Paris 😌 friendly staff, good energy with nice food priced relatively. Everything was satisfactory. The cafe was small & cute too. Became super crowded when we were leaving which can be a positive point.

Google
Place Dauphine is an oasis of Parisian delight in and of itself, but Ma salle à manger is the gem that makes it sparkle. We enjoyed three lovely courses each. A menu of Parisian staples is combined with basque fare and the end result is all you need for the perfect afternoon or evening. To top it all off, locals of all ages play pétanque on the square as you enjoy your meal or drink. A La Cuisse d’Or classic. Discover delicious

Google
Very nice small place, food was ok. Very friendly staff, good English. We had long chat with Rayan who gave a lot of info where to go in Paris. Overall very good expierence!

Google
Very nice dishes, service and atmosphere. Highly recommended for those (tourists) who are in the area (probably visiting the Notre Dame) looking for authentic French dishes. The space is not big (only a few tables inside and outside), but the place is cosy and the personnel is very kind. A unique experience that we'd be happy to relive at a later time as well.

Google
Cute little French gem that delivers a typical French food experience in Paris. Not only was the food great, but also that the service was good and especially support from waitress. The creme brulee is out of this world, the beef burgunnion was great and portions really big.

Google
The crepe with cherries was incredible! They were handmade probably and the flavour was amazing. The staff was patient and kind even with us talking in english. The service was fast and the environment is comfortable. Also recommend the café noisette.

Google
Fantastic French restaurant with the friendliest owner you can possibly imagine. He speaks English and recommends which dish to get when you can’t decide. Delicious food, cosy atmosphere. Will be back again!

Google
found a worm in our salad, made all of us feel sick and did not want to eat after that. server told us it didn’t matter and could not get the meal removed from our bill. do not recommend this restaurant at all

Yelp
Our favorite spot in the Notre Dame area. Cute. Cozy. And the best Boeuf Bourguignon I've had. Bon Appétit!

Yelp
Escargot. Camembert. Onion soup. Beef Bourgogne. Wine of the month. Almond cream cake and chocolate cake. Great service. Amazing food.

Yelp
Spinach Ravioli & duck confit were delicious. We didn't have reservations but we got a table anyway. The staff was friendly and were excited my husband tried to speak French. We got a baguette sandwich to go. Thank you for the quick service before our ghost tour.

Yelp
Had the opportunity to visit Ma Salle a Manger during my trip to Paris. Translated to English, this place would be know as "My Dining Room", and after my experience there is definitely seemed that I had been served a great meal in the coziness of someones own dining room. When I arrived I was surprised to see how small the space actually was. They do have outdoor seating but since winter was wrapping up it still was too cold to have tables placed outside at night. We were immediately seated since it seemed to be a quieter than usual night. Our server was extremely attentive! We were immediately greeted and asked for our drink preferences. When it came time to order I had asked for something that would be considered the restaurants staple dish. The waitress recommended the Basque burger with fries and black cherry ketchup. It was SO GOOD. If you're on the fence while reading this, just make yourself happy and choose the burger. You won't regret it. Overall this place seems like a good spot for a casual dinner experience. The season waitstaff and decor made for a homey feel. Come here with a friend or significant other if you're just looking for a really great and relaxing dining experience.

Yelp
My wife and I had an incredible romantic dinner here. Our server was quirky, delightful, and gracious. The restaurant is tiny - maybe 8 tables, so a reservation is recommended. Fellow foodies will love it. This is what Francophiles picture when they think of Parisian cafes. The food was spectacular and plentiful.

Yelp
Great restaurant, with delicious food from the South-West of France. All meals on the menu are worth trying, I liked very much the burger and the duck. Be sure to make a booking for a table, for the place is quite small and does not offer many seats. Special thanks to the waiter, super service and great (French) humor!

Yelp
Gourmet food - absolutely delicious! Wonderful fresh flavors - dessert was great Also. Best creme brûlée ever! Friendly chef and waitress. Bon appetit!

Yelp
Ma Salle a Manger is located on place Dauphine which is a really nice, quiet square in the heart of Paris. The square itself is full of little groups playing petanque and molkky and it's surrounded by restaurants with outside seating which makes for an entertaining dinner. We came to SaM based on Yelp reviews and waited for an hour for people to finish before we were seated which is pretty normal for anywhere in Europe if you don't have a reservation. After some serious stalking, we were finally seated. And then we waited. About 15 minutes passed before we received a menu. Another family sat, got the menu, and ordered. We waited again and then finally put in our order. We were now a full hour and 40 minutes into our investment here and getting pretty hungry. By the time the food arrived, it didn't even matter that it was just 'okay' because we made it disappear we were so hungry. For service, I'll have to knock off a couple of stars because we waited far too long to get menus or even drink orders. I took off another star for price because everything on the menu was bumped up 3 euros for the dinner price. Our server/host was very nice and she was one of 2 people working so I understand that it's busy but maybe they should've not sat a couple of tables that way everyone could get a quality experience.

Yelp
OMG awesome! This is the correct choice on the square I had the Burger Basque delicious! My hubby had the boeuf bourguigon that was awesome, he loved it. Coffee large great now for the creme brûlée.... Oh yeah that was delicious! The flavour of everything was spot on and tasted homemade, try the burger it is different in a great way! Bathroom is downstairs and a bit daunting for BIG AMERICANS... We found it precious and the spiral staircase easier to navigate then the fire trap we rented through Airbnb.

Yelp
Fantastic. Great place to stop and eat after a day of walking. Extremely Nice staff that spoke some English. Great house wine. Very small spot with not a lot of tables and you might feel cramped but I found it cozy!!!

Yelp
We loved this little restaurant for its outdoor ambiance, the food and reasonable prices. If you are in the area come check it out. Just enjoying a glass of wine with an appetizer in this location on the sidewalk gives you a good idea of life in Paris. The park nearby provides lots to look at while you enjoy your meal. We did come twice, the first time the restaurant was not as busy as the 2nd and it showed in a slight decline food but it was still solid. In fact we had the same server both times and each time he was amazing, funny and welcoming even though the second time he was very overwhelmed by the amount of customers to servers. It's off the beaten path and yummy!

Yelp
The Service was disappointing. The waiter let us wait for 10 min and we couldn't place anything there. They ignored half of all guests :/

Yelp
Bro, you gotta hit this place. It's a perfect day for Valentine's, New Year's, anniversary, proposal, yadda yadda... It's romantic as hell. It is tiny. Charismatic. Perfect little slice of Paris. Bro, you will always be talking about "that little cafe by Notre Dame" with your lady ... or your bro. I don't judge, bro. Take your boyfriend. Loved it. You'll love it. It's small, delicious and unique.

Yelp
Oh my goodness! This place is to be avoided at all cost. We have tried an onion soup. It is very hard to make a poor onion soup but the chef has created a masterpiece that is absolutely impossible to eat! So disappointed. Try something else. You will be saved from dissapointment from poor quality food.

Yelp
This is a great place for lunch after sightseeing at Notre Dame, Pont Neuf, and other sites on the Ile de Cite. The staff is friendly, perhaps even a bit eccentric but in a fun way. We went traditional and shared cheese and charcuterie plates, and I had a fantastic onion soup. The wine is excellent, and the lead server (maybe owner?) provides good descriptions and background on the wines. A mix of locals and tourists.
google avatar

Tori W.

Yelp
"We have good cheese " said the amazing waiter. He wasn't wrong. Small selection of of meals but it's only because they are gourmet and perfected to the "T"! Great selection of wine. The waiter knew every detail about everything on the menu. He spoke English perfectly and was very patient. The menu is translated in English. It's located in a cute, quaint square with outdoor seating but not too much street traffic. It's call and peaceful where you can have a good conversation. Just go here. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
We just had dinner at this place that was highly recommended by a couple of locals. The service was very unpleasant, especially when the server realized she made an error with our salad order. Not only that she did not offer to replace it, she insisted we try the sales served and only if we didn't like it, she will replace it. Two other diners recieved steaks that were not done as requested (and no, it is not the French thing). The medium steak was unacceptable to the person who ordered it and when taken back for some additional grilling - it returned charred. When the bill came, it included two glasses of wine that we ordered and never recieved. All in all, wasted meal in a city with great options all around. Wouldn't recommend or go back to.

Yelp
My first meal in any new and foreign city tends to be my most favorite. Such was the case with me and this restaurant. My dinner here wrapped up a nice long day after traveling into Paris. Ma Salle a Manger is a small unpretentious restaurant located at the northern tip of lle de la Cite (City Island). I chose it because it was rated highly on Trip Advisor and I happened to be in the neighborhood. Like I mentioned it is tiny, and on the night I visited the inside was packed with customers so I was forced to eat outside. But that worked out fine because directly above my head was a warm heating lamp. Plus I got to enjoy the very cool looking cobble stone street. My dinner meal couldn't have been better. My duck confit was superb. My au gratin potatoes were to die for (cooked in a cute ceramic bowl). And my onion soup was proof that onion soup doesn't need cheese to make it taste good (yup, it had no cheese but the onions were caramelized to perfection). However the most memorable thing about my meal was my dessert, creme brulee. It was perhaps the best creme brulee I've ever had in my life. Take a look at the photo I snapped. Tell me that doesn't look like a work of art that should be hanging in the Louvre? It tasted even better than it looked. Prices were very very reasonable. I got an entrée|plat|dessert deal and a glass of wine for only 31 Euros. Wow. So one of my best meals in Paris was also my cheapest. Lastly, the cute server girl working the whole restaurant was super terrific. She was very accommodating with my English, and helped me out with the menu and wine list (her wine recommendation was spot on too). If there weren't so many darn choices in the city, I could have easily eaten here every day for four days straight and been perfectly happy.

Yelp
We had such a nice time here in April. The beer and food was tasty. The onion soup was delicious. The location was great with seats outside, but not really an area with cars and a view of people playing bocce ball. The man and woman working were both very nice. The man was particularly funny, wishing me bonne chance (good luck) after warning me about the low ceiling in the ancient basement where the restroom is.

Yelp
The food was amazing!!!! The lasagna is very good and the prices were reasonable considering the portion sizes, i would definitley eat here again!

Julie M.

Yelp
We loved this place!! Definitely choose this one for one of your dinners. The service was perfect and personal and fun. The food was everything we'd hope for in a Paris cafe. It's hard to know from reviews which one to pick- this one. This is the one you want to go to. It was clear this was a local favorite for diners who enjoy quality without the attitude. He went out of his way to be sure our experience was incredible and it was! He checked on us regularly and was utterly patient and funny as we bungled our way through communicating with our spotty French. The food was incredible- French onion soup, the fish, desserts. I want to back! I can't recommend this place enough.

Yelp
This was my final meal in Paris, and it was superb. The food was outstanding, the service was the best and most congenial I had in Paris, and the outdoor atmosphere was just perfect. So glad I came here!

Yelp
After a picturesque morning walk through Paris (with a photographer, so there are pictures) we ended up in a small park lined with cafes. Randomly chose Ma Salle à Manger and had an excellent lunch. Once again our lack of French wasn't a problem as the staff was bilingual and had English menus available. If you find yourself nearby I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Lily A.

Yelp
Excellent meal. We ate all over Paris (including a Michelin recommended restaurant) and this was our 2nd favorite. My husband got their burger and said it was the best one he had in Paris. I had the salmon tartare and it was delicious! Very very friendly people working there. Plus, the park outside is adorable. Great experience!

Roxanne C.

Yelp
Our visit was lovely. Service was great. The waiter was friendly, attentive, and made us feel at home. The food was superb; we had everything from escargot, French fries, truffle pasta, French onion soup, duck and creme brûlée for desert. The best escargot I had. Brought my kids and they enjoyed it as well. Love meeting great people and paired with great food just helped make our trip extra special.

Yelp
So yummy! In a cute, quiet little square on Île de la Cité. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Really enjoyed everything here!

Yelp
They have breakfast but it is only baguette or croissant and jam, that's it, so we opted to have a coffee and wait for lunch to start at noon; interesting location on an island in the city near Notre dame. I started with the pate which was excellent. The beef bourguignon sauce lacked a little flavor in my opinion, too strong on the wine flavor for me, lacked depth/complexity for what I would expect for a traditional French specialty but I consider myself to be a very good cook and have prepared this before, so it may be very good to others. I had the onion soup and I have to say I was very disappointed, had high expectations for the dish as I love onion soup and this is Paris and very pricey (even for the "cheaper" items)...I found it to be very bitter, almost like it was a lemon based broth, not what I was expecting (was yellow and not brown). My boyfriend had the salmon cappacio (raw salmon dish) which was a disappointment also bc it was extremely salty. Friendly staff and fun location (which is why I gave it 3 stars and not 2) but not excited about the food overall.

Yelp
Hands down the best French onion soup and creme brulee I have ever had. Waiter was an absolute delight.
google avatar

Rusty S.

Yelp
Excellent. Good simple clean food for a good price with nice staff in a great area. The wine was excellent. The cheese platter excellent. The onion soup was amazing and it was so refreshing to have some normal decent food from French people.

Yelp
After a very long day of museums, including The Louvre just across the Seine and walking forever, we found this place online, just a few blocks away. A perfect spot for an early dinner and to relax with a glass of wine. It is very small and very cozy but friendly and super menu on a board. We loved our food and waited for the rain to ease. When it didn't and it looked like our table was needed, we called Uber. This was a great find!

Lucretia D.

Yelp
I would definitely recommend this fantastic restaurant to anyone looking for reasonably-priced, high-quality food in a casual setting. There was a delicious option for everybody on the menu from truffle-ricotta ravioli, to beef Bourguignon, to a simple burger. For dessert, I ordered the chocolate mousse and I can say, without a doubt, that it was the best mousse I had ever eaten! The dish blended rich dark chocolate with sweet, fluffy whipped-cream to create a wonderful mix of airy, chocolatey goodness. Just like the food, the service was superb. Our waiter was very friendly and outgoing and kindly spoke to us in English since we knew very little French. He really kept the restaurant running well and efficiently. The setting is the last piece of the puzzle that completes this delectable eatery. The quiet square on which it is located provides the perfect environment for a relaxing, enjoyable dinner whether you choose to eat inside or outside on the sidewalk.

Liv S.

Yelp
Located in the cutest hidden street. This is easily one of the best places I've eaten in Paris. The French onion soup was delicious and my friend got the Ravioli and said it was amazing. Would definitely recommend.

Chris L.

Yelp
Food was pricey and just Ok. We had a similar meal nearby that was not as expensive but food was so much better. The service was OK too. It was really nothing to write home about.

Yelp
We went here on a walking tour of Paris. There was a group of about 8 of us and we were all a bit tired, a bit hungover and a bit jet lagged. This is the kind of place that feels like a little hidden secret. The staff were lovely and kept the wine flowing. The food was delicious and the overall atmosphere was just charming. Loved it!

Yelp
A friend of mine and I held our birthday party there last weekend; the event turned out to be a nightmare! Besides the fact that the portions were ridiculously small compared to the price we had to pay and that the food was not as good as I have been told it would be, we suspected the restaurant staff of taking advantage of our disorganization. Indeed, we haven't all ordered the same thing, some had a menu (entrée + main course), some had only the main course, others had only beers... People left one after the other and while some paid with a credit card, others paid in cash but were never given a receipt. Once everybody had paid his/her share at the counter, they announced a deficit of € 77. After time spent tracking down every single penny, phoning people to ask them how much they paid and what for, we found out about hidden costs like - to mention only one - the € 20 they charged us to "serve" a cake we brought. Finally, we ended up paying for a deficit of € 13 instead of the € 77 initially announced...

Yelp
Wonderful meal for our first night in Paris! Lovely! We sat outside and enjoyed every moment! Service and food were wonderful!! Go!

Melissa Y.

Yelp
A beautiful little restaurant in a cute square, not touristy, great ambiance, yummy food! Take my word for it and get the créeme brûlée! Also, this is the best service I've had in Paris so far, a great place to linger over dinner before an evening walk on the Seine.

Kitty W.

Yelp
This place has a great atmosphere, it is right on the Seine river (There are many tour services nearby), and it has great food. Our food came out really fast, too! The waiters/waitresses are very nice and very attentive to every table. Overall, this is just a great place to eat at. There is just one con to this great place - there is not many tables, so I wouldn't recommend coming here with a large group.

Olga O.

Yelp
For 2 nights in Paris we had our dinner there twice. Wonderful little place with a very friendly staff.

Yelp
Charming small bistro. Good food, friendly service and lots of locals. Still crowded for lunch in January.

Yelp
PERFECT services from the team!!! UNBELIEVABLE GREAT startes!!! SUPER DELICIOUS meals!!! One of the very best restaurants that I've been so far!!!

Yelp
Do not miss this gem of a restaurant. I brought my 15 year old daughter to Paris with me for a few days and we stumbled upon this lovely restaurant. It was so good - we went twice! Yes, with all the choices in Paris, we went back! If it's available, do not miss the beef bourguignon - truly it was the best I've had anywhere. When commenting "I need to figure out how to make this at home," the server whisked my daughter and me downstairs to their tiny but immaculate kitchen. Being an American, I speak no French (other than merci, and si vous plait), so the server translated from the chef and even wrote down the directions for me. Talk about being made to feel at home. Unfortunately, they were out of the beef bourguignon the next day, but we tried the lasagne (good) and the bell pepper stuffed with cod and mashed potatoes (excellent). Wine and creme brulee were excellent. Seriously, stop by this place - I want to keep them in business until my next trip to Paris! You will not be disappointed.

Robert H.

Yelp
Just stopped here for lunch with no recommendation. What a delightful surprise. I had burger, wife had salad. Both were excellent. Both ladies working were very nice and knowledgeable about out poor French. If you ask for a menu it has English translations. It's close to Ministry of Defense so caters to legal crowd so nice area. It's not inexpensive but I would definitely return.

Gillon S.

Yelp
Real a great restaurants. Small, hidden away around the corner. Wounderfull service and truly fabulous food

Barbara A.

Yelp
This is a cute little place on Place Dauphine that our walking tour guide brought us to for a snack. The food was good and the people friendly. I returned the next day for a meal and wqs not disappointed. Atmosphere is casual

Carl W.

Yelp
Wonderful service from attentive staff. Fantastic, simple cuisine. If you find your self in the area, eat here!!

Lala V.

Yelp
We were invited to celebrate a birthday anniversary there. We arrive only to discover prices were impossible, then when we saw the portions... are really tiny... so ok, then at the end they charged for a 4 dessert sup? for the fact that we took a cake we had previously stock in their fridges and the best they didn't tell us before eating or after but at the moment of paying. I find this very illegal and nasty!!!!! For a group of 12 people!!!! Then another surprise: They were asking for 100eu that supposedly were not paid but after some hour of calculations they just realize that only 10eu were missing!!!!! You think they apologized or something: n o t h i n g !!!!! So you can decide for yourselves!!!!!!! A shame my friend used to like the place but after this not only they lost her but I'm sure they'll lose more and more customers. Really unhappy about the whole birthday outcome of my friend. It stinks!!! :(
