Beautiful location and basically right on the beach. The condos are very nice. The pool is small, but clean and well maintained. Nice little beach, water is fairly calm for swimming and for kids to play. Very sandy beach and sandy ocean bottom, virtually no coral or lava rock. Great for kids, not great for snorkeling. The water is also not very clear. The increased price is the only reason for 4 stars. There are plenty of other less expensive places along the same beach or at a different location in Maui.

Perfect stay, listening to the ocean and enjoying a beautiful view from our balcony. We fit 5 comfortably in F5. Ideal location to explore the island, near to the highway and just north of Kihei town. A few minutes walk to the Maui Farmers Market, a bakery, and ABC store.

They got one of the best spots that doesn’t feel touristy and you can literally walk out of your patio to the ocean. The beach is not crowded and there are a ton of food options from near by food trucks closer to Acela Mauka. They don’t have the packages like snorkeling tours, food, all inclusive etc. and if that’s what one wants then up north at Kaanapalli will be better fit. This is the right place for families that want to stay in an upscale beach focused resort closer to where locals call it their home. The swimming pool is warm and cleaned daily and the premises are well kept too.

Amazing location and facility!!!!! We came on a family vacation with our 2 young children and parents. We loved the close proximity to the ocean… STEPS away from the beach! And the pool is centrally located. I am not sure if it was an off time… but it literally felt like we had the place to ourselves… appeared to be mostly older retired types that were here. They keep everything clean and top notch. Condo was well stocked, comfy beds and hot showers! If you are looking for a party/ night scene type of place… look elsewhere. If you are wanting a quiet, relaxing, private getaway, book here!

NO ALOHA SPIRIT!  My husband and I were preparing to celebrate my Mom’s 90th birthday in beautiful Maui and we were scheduled to stay at Ma'alaea Surf Resort. My Mom would be joining us on the same flight since she needs assistance because of significant vision loss.  A few days before we were to depart from Portland, Oregon, I tested positive for COVID 19 and given the risks to my Mom and other passengers on the plane, we had to cancel our trip, which I had hoped we could reschedule.  I immediately contacted the property manager at Ma'alaea Surf Resort to explain the unfortunate situation and to my surprise and disappointment, the property manager would not allow me to reschedule our stay and kept all of my $3,300 advance deposit.  I did the right thing and the only thing I could do, and the penalty (complete forfeiture of my $3,300) was WAY TOO HARSH!  To the property manager and owner, I would simply ask you to reconsider this unreasonable decision and allow me to reschedule the trip and use my $3,300 when a unit becomes available.

The resort and people are a 5 star, however planning is a problem. We stayed in Sept of 2021 and just before arrival were notified of construction in condo next door and we elected to stay and deal with it. Fortunately it wasn't too bad and we liked enough to book for Nov 2022. On our date to pay our remaining reservation, we were notified that again construction was going on and this time after several rounds were notified our reservation was cancelled entirely. Flights and other reservations have already been made so now we find ourselves in a last minute dash to find alternatives which is problematic. So book at your own risk. We love the place, but I don't know how we can rely on it for future reservations. Please note the service and overall rating apply to the resort and condo owners in general, not to the person who manages the reservations and gets you settled. She is wonderful, this is out of her control.

Yelp
This is my heaven. The place I have really good dreams about. I've been coming here since the 90s, it's was fairly easy to book then. It's not now, and I hate to post this great review, cuz then it will be HARDER! I've been thru a lot of managers over the years here. Mostly good, some just shitty and annoying. The CURRENT managers here are HANDS DOWN, the BEST. RYAN AND MALEA. Since they took over, everything has been excellent. The condos have ALWAYS been spectacular. All ocean facing, beautiful grounds, so SERENE and very well kept. Before Malea and Ryan there were issues with accountability when something went wrong in a unit. My last 5 visits, they took care of ANY issue, often when it wasn't their jobs. So- management is STELLAR These condos are ON MAALEAA BAY. The whales BREACH right there. The outrigger club paddles by every morning. Egrets chase the gardeners around. It's seriously paradise. If you like water slides, lots of people- this is not your place. The most people you will see is at sunset when the condo owners all bring there conch shells down to blow for the sunset. It IS a killer location tho. Close to all the Kihei stuff, not far from Lahaina or Paia. 2 pools, 2 groups of condos surrounding each pool. Beach is public but the only people you see are people walking by- otherwise it's quiet. Don't be an idiot, this place is AMAZING. JUST GO. Just not when I want to, DAMMIT!!
