Haifa’s best restaurant at any price. Formidable execution of East European classics. Simple, clean room. Attentive service. Superb food.
Our most recent meal:
Combo appetizer of chopped liver/ikra/eggplant. Served with thickly-cut, freshly-baked white bread.
Plate of zakuski type pickles: cucumber, cabbage, sliced radish, peppers, horseradish.
Main dishes:
Romanian kebab with a side of garlic. Amazing.
Kreplach soup. Straight out of my childhood in the Bronx only better.
Sautéed chicken liver served pink (the way we wanted it) with coarse salt.
No dessert.
As you can tell, I’m a real fan.
