We’ve had a wonderful stay at Mababe River Lodge. The room as well as the pool area are beautiful and clean. Moreover Christine is such a well-caring and lovely person. She did a fabulous job organizing our game drives which were operated by Bogale - such a wildlife expert and kind person. Also the hotel staff is super friendly. Food is nice and various.

Mababe river lodge was excellent. After one of the hardest drives of our 3 week drive across Southern Africa, we really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are and staff are wonderful. The staff cleaned our car without even asking (and it was badly needed). The rooms are lovely and have a private varendah that look out over the planes and river with lots of animal sightings. And Dinner was excellent, and lots of veggies, which I appreciated. We also did a day long safari to Moremi park and saw two pairs of mating lions.

The manager/owner and staff are very friendly :). Good quality and taste of food. The view from the restaurant terraces is beautiful. The cottages are comfortable and well-equipped, with beautiful views of the savannah and the animals. Entrance is through a construction company. The only downside is the smell in the room....some kind of wood preservative/paint, which is a bit annoying. Furthermore, the wine glasses in the restaurant also smell like this because they're stored in a wooden cabinet. I'm a bit of a smell freak, hence my comments ;). Overall, it's a highly recommended place and very comfortable :)

We stayed at the campsite for two nights while passing through. Each campsite has its own washrooms, which are clean, tidy, and spacious. You are in the habitat of elephants, hippos, and hyenas, so don't be surprised if these animals are standing next to you in the evening or at night. The proximity to the lodge is a plus, and the pool is perfect for cooling off and relaxing, even if the drinks are quite expensive. The staff are hardworking and friendly. The hosts though still have a lot of room for improvement when it comes to hospitality. It may be due to the inexperience of youth, but warmth and a basic understanding of guest interests should be a prerequisite for anyone who wants to run a lodge.

Mababe River Lodge & Camping is located in Mababe at B334 Road (you need a 4x4), 115 km north of Maun. The lodge offers 5 chalets and 8 camping sites. There is a campshop, restaurant with breakfast, lunch & dinner, pool, bar & comfortable lounge, and terrace with view the waterhole. Outfit and layout provide a high-quality bush atmosphere. Service is friendly & helpful. A 3-hour game drive sits you back USD 95, a serious rip-off. We opted for camping and had dinner at the lodge. We had a site with barbecue facility, lighting, and a private shower & toilet facility. The camping in not gated. After dusk always walk with a torch. In the dark hyenas and buffalo roam the camping and often a hippo walks by. Mababe River is a nice lodge & camping, and a fine choice for 1 or 2 nights. Recommended.

Price 1.000 pula for 2 person in a campsite. Private toilette really clean , nice pool and nice area restaurant. I read other review about rude customers (not here, on iOverlander 2 app) ; with us they were really nice but i confirm that the price it’s really high, but we were really tired after a bad stat in three bridge campsite so we decided to stay one night. Wifi do not work very well PAY ATTENTION TO ANIMAL: clean always bin and do not let food outside, a huge hyena open the bin just at the bottom of our pick up and we were scaried, but bey welcome to africa.

What a fabulous place with amazing helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble. So much effort was made for one picky eater and one gluten free diner. Pool was lovely, rooms clean and well appointed with zebras for neighbours. A must stay place.

We stayed here for one night at the campsite and for one night in the lodge and it was an awesome experience! The campsite was very spacious, good equipped with private ablution, an outdoor kitchenblock and a braai station. We loved it! The lodge has a beautiful location with a restaurant, a bar and a swimming pool with a nice view. The room was cozy, clean and we really felt at home. The staff was great, always helpful, really friendly and did amazing service - a lot of other lodges should take an example from that! And the dinner was just awesome - really fresh, tasty and good portions. We would loved to stay longer and will definitely come back 🧡 Would recommend everyone to stay here!
