Mabu Generation

Tried Taiwanese hotpot for the first time and had a wonderful experience at MABU Mississauga! With so many broth options to choose from, we opted for Spicy Signature. It was packed with flavour, perfectly spicy, comforting and savoury. I don’t eat beef so substituting beef slices was easily done. Also ordered Taiwanese minced pork on rice, takoyaki, popcorn chicken, Strawberry Snow and a White Peach Coronita. Amazing quantity and great value for food. The rice was delicious, the takoyaki was so soft and fresh, but the real star was the popcorn chicken! The chicken was crispy and seasoned well. The Strawberry Snow was a nice, not too sweet but the White Peach Coronita is also a must! With so many menu items, I look forward to going back for some more. Clean restaurant, friendly and knowledgeable staff, cozy and fun ambiance!

Recently I shared a leisurely lunch with my sister at Mabu Generation, a Taiwanese restaurant serving authentic cuisine. As we stepped inside, the vibrant neon lights and colorful decor immediately caught my attention, evoking the feeling of entering a lively alley. The animated menu and whimsical bearbrick display added a playful touch to the already inviting ambiance. The entrance seamlessly led us to a world of aesthetic delight. The array of colorful figurines lining the walls was particularly captivating, while the spacious table arrangement ensured a comfortable dining experience. With numerous delectable options on the menu, we ultimately opted for the Popular lunch set, featuring sausage and braised pork rice, accompanied by a sweet dessert and refreshing ice winter melon tea. The braised pork was cooked to perfection, boasting a tender texture without being greasy. However the sauce was a bit sweet for my taste (apparently I remembered the authentic braised pork sauce was sweet when I tried it in Taipei years ago.) The cold tofu and pickles provided a delightful contrast to the rich pork. The iced winter melon tea was incredibly soothing. Notably, the individual hot pots served at the next table appeared to be the perfect size for a solo indulgence. I'm eager to try it on my next visit. This restaurant offers a tranquil atmosphere, reasonable prices, and a beautifully designed environment, making it an ideal spot for a peaceful lunch.

Food is amazing and service is attentive! We got the hotplates with black peppercorn sauce and curry sauce, both are great and savoury. I love that they provide the table with a jug of water for your own refills. The server for our table is very attentive. Thank you I'll be back!

We loved their different unique dishes and massive portion sizes. Also absolutely delicious food. But honestly the best part was the great service provided by the servers 🩵 We got the sizzling beef hot plate with cheese and the sukiyaki hot pot. Highly recommend both! -Hungrybeanz.gta on ig

Fun place, delicious Taiwanese style cuisine! The pork belly on bun is definitely worth trying. Nice mix of flavours on a soft bun. Lots of choices on the menu to keep you coming back!

Tried their lunch special, it came with two side dishes, a dessert and a cold winter melon tea. Good value for money. Beautiful decoration inside.

Taiwan style chain restaurant, have a very specific style and delicious foods and snack and milk tea. We enjoy the stay in it.

Great place for late night snack. Menu is big with lots of variety. We love the atmosphere and service! High recommend.

I can't say I've had too many Hot Pot experiences, so obviously I jumped at the chance to check out a restaurant acclaimed for their Hot Pot. We decided to get the House Special Spicy Hot Pot Served w/Instant Noodles. It arrived a short time later and certainly looked impressive, portion-wise. (This is, after all, a dish that comes with Sliced Beef, Clam, Pork Blood Cake, and Fried Bean Curd, among other things.) Our waitress spent several minutes getting the cook started, and eventually we were able to start eating. The first thing I noticed was how tasty the broth was. I could've had that broth alone as a meal and I would've been satisfied. So it's not surprising to note that once you start incorporating all those other components, the dish becomes a seriously tasty and addictive concoction. The included hot sauce and chili oil really enhanced the whole thing, and that chili oil specifically pretty much knocked my socks off. The service was great and the ambiance was fine. I think if I'm ever craving Hot Pot, Mabu Generation is where I'll go.

Mabu generation is almost always a safe pick for ordering Taiwanese snacks such as Popcorn chicken (which I get at the Markham location). This time I opted for Mac n Cheese with Okonomiyaki fries. Decor is a bit different featuring neon signs and metal tables. Mac n Cheese was pretty standard and its a nice change of pace, but I wouldn't order it again. The Fries are almost always a 100% order when dining with me, You can't go wrong with it and it never disappoints. While I do praise Mabu overall, I see it as a late night snack establishment and their menu embraces that wholeheartedly. The entrees they offer are so commonly found from other specialty restaurants but also at a higher price point.

Fun resto to hang out with friends! I'm here right now with my kids and between the 3 of us (adult+6yo+8yo), we ordered 2 lunch specials. The main comes with 2 preset sides and a Taiwanese Style Brown Sugar Winter Melon Tea. We ordered the popcorn chicken and Taiwanese Braised Minced Pork Rice. Both dishes were flavourful and authentic. The sides were spicy tofu, tofu skin, bok choy and tofu dessert. It was my kids' first time here and they loved it. My only negative comment would be the speed of food service. Everything should be already pre-made and only the chicken needs to be deep fried. We came here on a Thursday around 12:30pm and it was only us plus one other lady. The waiters looked bored and just chatted among themselves. I will most likely return and try the other items on their menu.

I've tried Mabu Generation Markham location previously and I recently found out that they have a Mississauga location and decided to check it out. This location was quite cozy. The staff was attentive and the service was quick. Their food portions were big as well. We ordered Taiwanese style deep fried chicken cutlet, Japanese style pan fried beef (black pepper teriyaki & garlic sauce), and pork belly on rice. The chicken cutlet was crunchy and was a great appetizer to share with a small group. The pan fried beef was full of umami flavour. I'd definitely recommend this! The pork belly, however, was fatty. It didn't have much meat to it which was quite disappointing. My friends ordered the katsu curry and the house special spicy hot pot. I'd love to come back and try other food on their menu.

We tried the Taiwanese signature foods - popcorn chicken and stewed beef noodle. My favorite is the popcorn chicken rice. It was so crispy, not too salty and served a generous portion of chicken. Also, it came with a little bit of minced pork. However, I didn't expect them to use udon for the stewed beef noodle. Anyway, the soup was quite flavorful. We also ordered the Chinese herb rice wine chicken hot pot, perfect for cold weather. The hot pot included chicken, veggies, and fish balls. You can always add more food if you want. Personally, I think the soup base was quite bland, but it was perfect for someone who wanted something with light taste.

This is a lot of food for two! We also ordered bubble tea and tea. I would suggest ordering all three of the apps we got: popcorn chicken, squid roll and the taiwanese burger with pork belly. This would be a perfect lunch for two. The hot pot was good, very spicy! Quick and friendly service, but we did come at such an odd mid afternoon there wasn't alot of people. The seats and tables reminds me of taiwanese night market stalls, great vibe

It's a hidden gem!!! Delicious food, excellent service and great value for money. The menu of this Taiwanese restaurant offers wide variety of options. We had Deep Fried Squid Balls, it was the best we have had so far in North America!! Cheese Top Creamy Alfredo Mushroom Chicken, nicely served, and Japanese Style Pan Fried Beef with Rice from the sizzling hot plate. The servers were friendly and very caring. Definitely it'll be in our shortlist of the great places for good food.

Recently visited Mabu Generation in Mississauga. What a great experience including delicious food, friendly service and a nice ambiance. I tried the popcorn chicken, deep fried todu, chicken/seafood hotpot and topped it off with an amazing dessert. I will be back again!!

The food was very good and tasty! The service was quick and the online ordering system made things very easy and efficient! The ambiance of the restaurant was cute and decorative. Will be coming here more often!

MABU Generation is your spot if you're craving some tasty Taiwanese fusion meals and snacks! The space is relatively small so prepare to be added onto a wait list if you come during the evening. The cool neon light decorations and concrete walls give the place a very 'underground' type of environment. My partner and I ordered the Japanese spicy miso hotpot, Taiwanese popcorn chicken, and okonomiyaki fries. The mini hotpot is perfect for sharing with another person on a cold day! We were pleased with the amount of ingredients that came with it such as: fish cakes, cabbage, tofu, pork, etc. But we felt the broth was really lacking in flavour, especially the miso! Taiwanese popcorn chicken was fresh and crispy, and the okonomiyaki fries were a hit! The sweet and savoury sauce paired well with the fries. Overall, would come back to try out their other menu items and maybe one of their more popular hotpot broths!

Decided to bring my son and his friends here for a birthday get together. The atmosphere is really nice. It's a bit small and I imagine it would be very busy in the evening/weekend. We decided to go at 3pm on a Saturday. It was the perfect time because they were able to sit 7 people promptly. The servers were friendly and accommodating 8/10 We have 2 picky eaters in the group so they decided to go with a safe bet. We ordered the following Popcorn chicken: 8/10. Was crispy and tasty Okonomayaki fries: 8/1010. The kids love this takoyaki:8/10- it was the crowd favourite. You only get 4 for $10.99 pretty pricey but worth it since everyone loved it. The drinks were great but not much selection to choose from. Most of them got either the strawberry or the mango drink with the usual toppings ( tapioca, jelly etc) The drinks were better than other bubble tea cafe but taking some marks off for not having much selection 9/10. We had to order the tower dessert. All the kids were looking forward to it. It was aesthetically delicious but the kids were too full to appreciate the taste. Will need to give that a second try the next time we go. 8.5/10. Overall, the experience was good. Will definitely come back again.

Recent visit to the Mississauga location. The menu had so many options and we decided on: Sweet and sour deep fried tofu Taiwanese style popcorn chicken House special Taiwanese style minced pork on rice Chicken in coconut hot soup with vermicelli (hot pot) Mango honey cube toast with ice cream and fresh mangoes The food was delicious especially the dessert! The cafe had a warm atmosphere and the service was amazing! I will definitely be back to try other dishes.

Food was awesome, service was extremely quick and servers were very polite and helpful. Will definitely be back!

The food is good. Service is efficient. Ambiance is cozy as the place is quite small. On the pricey side.
