Macaron Bar

I ordered a macaroon tower for an event. It was the perfect addition for the party and not as messy as cake or cupcakes! The staff was so helpful and professional with the ordering process, and subsequent changes I needed to make. They even helped with coordinating delivery. The macaroons themselves were fresh and the flavors were outstanding!

WE MADE MACARONS! I've enjoyed their macarons for a long time. Yesterday, I had an opportunity to learn the basics of making this sweet little cookie. My grandson and I took a class at the Downtown location. A Macaron Master taught us a lot of nifty skills. We followed her step by step and ended up taking home about two dozen macrons. Everyone was pleasant and helpful. The class was fun, interesting, and far different from other baking classes I've taken. I enjoyed it and recommend it to all the adventurous bakers out there.

We’ll definitely be making the trip down more often for these macarons. The place was so clean, very peaceful vibe, and absolutely delicious macarons with some really good flavor options. My favorite was the cereal milk and the pistachio was delicious as well!

Didnt have the chance to join the hands on making macron (though it sounds absolutely fun, I'm down to do next time) But I do enjoy the macron they made. I had a six piece macron in 14 dollars. My favorite flavor definitely goes to the Irish cream. The delicate cream taste layers on the sweetness made this little macron a lot of surprises. If your down to have some sophisticatedly pleasant afternoon dessert you must try them.

Everything is gluten free!! Lots of unique flavors, a few of our favorites were lemon lavender (not overpowering, just enough), salted caramel and gingerbread. They had a holiday special: $25 gets you a 12 pack, t-shirt and a $5 coupon for your next visit.

12/3/22 we attended a macaron making class with Tanisha. There were 7 of us which was perfect. All of our tops and bottoms turned out perfectly because we were instructed so well. All the ganache flavors we made were yummy too. If you’re tired of gifting ties, socks, underwear etc., try gifting an experience instead. It was so much fun and you’ll take so many home. Tanisha was great and really added to the fun.

My food blogger kiddos stopped in on our trip from Cleveland. The owner was super nice to them. We LOVED these macarons! Some of the best I’ve had.

Me and my boo had got like 3 macarons and 2 cookies from them. I don't know exactly which ones we got because it was a surprise bag but if I had to guess one was strawberry, one was salted caramel, and the other had to be like pistachio or something. The Macarons were so soft and had the perfect amount of flavor and balance to them. The two cookies i think were biscotti type of cookies and those were pretty soft and flavorful too. I didn't expect them to taste like that . Definitely will be back. The place was cute and they offer classes

I have been eating at this establishment since it was a pop up inside kenwood mall! These are the best macarons! The flavors have changed over the years and a lot of my favorites like the rose and black currant barely roll around anymore. Thankfully there is a lemon lavender flavor and a earl grey tea flavor which I love and I hope they never get rid of or I would be sad. Please bring back the black currant for a seasonal flavor - I would buy so many of them! The staff is also always super nice and inviting.

This was the cutest little macaron shop. They had so many flavors in beautiful colors. I got the mimosa flavor. It was light and flavorful. The price is reasonable. The employee was so nice. There was also a class going on when we stopped in. I assume they were learning how to make macarons. Super cool! 10/10 will definitely go back.

Such a good place to stop in for a sweet treat. Especially if you just want something small! I tried the fruity cereal macaron and it was so good. The person helping us was super nice. The store was clean and has cool lighting. Definitely recommend, especially for a quick dessert.

Stopped here as part of a wine and dessert tour. Fantastic macarons. There were around 20 different flavors with rotating specials. I had the birthday cake and cereal flavored ones. Excellent. We bought some to go but haven't tried them yet.

What a fun afternoon learning g how to make macrons. As expected it is challenging but Nathan the executive chef did a great job helping turn out reasonably good looking macrons. Overall a very fun activity and I highly recommend giving it a try

Wanted to try but I have allergies and wasnt 100% sure about the ingredients. Thankfully Elizabeth was there to help. She was very helpful by carefully checked the ingredients for me. I feel safe to try them now Also the place is nice and clean.

We stopped into Macaron Bar while walking around downtown Cincinnati. We were attracted by the Pride decorations and the thought of delicious cookies! The store is really cute and the macarons are front and center on display. We were greeted right away by a friendly staff member who asked if we had any questions and who helped us pick out our flavors. We ended up buying a dozen cookies for my grandpa's 90th birthday and got a nice selection of flavors. We loved that there is a black raspberry chip flavor. They put everything into a cute box and we ended up buying an Amaretti cookie as we were checking out. The staff person also gave us a pistachio macaron that had gotten smooshed since we were talking about it being one of their favorite flavors. My grandpa said the cookies were so good! A great gift for sure. The Amaretti cookie and pistachio macaron we ended up eating and both were great. I would absolutely buy the Amaretti cookie again if I see them again- it was my first time trying one and it was so good. Definitely worth a visit if you enjoy macarons or are wanting to try them for the first time.

Had an amazing experience learning to make macarons. Nathan and Kim are wonderful! This is the real deal - start to finish. Over 3 hours learning every step, including insider tips for macaron perfection. I highly recommend this class at the Cincinnati location.

Walked in when we saw their sign next to Al's popcorn. My mom is a huge macaroon lover and these did not disappoint. Quite a few flavors to choose from. They have classes that sound intriguing as well!

Food: 4.5/5 They have macarons in every color of the rainbow. After trying many flavors, our favorites are the pistachio, birthday cake, and fruity cereal. The pistachio has a great pistachio flavor and is not overly sweet. The birthday cake is strawberry-forward and is excellent if you have a sweet craving. The fruity cereal tastes exactly like fruity pebbles. They have other flavors we enjoy as well, like salted caramel and Madagascar vanilla. They are delicious and so cute! Service: 3.5/5 Since they have the macarons prebaked, service is usually fast. They have other baked goods for sale that I haven't tried. They have cute long boxes they put them in. Atmosphere: 4/5 The storefront is small, with limited seating. The space is mainly filled with baking equipment. It's very clean and has a minimalist aesthetic with pops of color.

This place is amazing! The macarons are so delicious! Black raspberry ones are my favorite. I took a class here on how to make them and that was an awesome experience and now I can make them at home. So yummy!

My absolute favorite macarons ever! I have had quite a few macarons from different places and none compare to Macaron Bar. They have the perfect chewy shell, with decadent fillings that melt in your mouth. They always have an abundance of flavors and I especially like their seasonal flavors. My favorite all time flavor is Birthday Cake. The customer service is usually pleasant, so no complaints there. There is seating inside, but it's not a lot. We haven't had a problem with this though, because there isn't usually a lot of foot traffic when we go. No public bathrooms which is a downer, but obviously not a dealbreaker. I have had them shipped to my house before and can say they do not travel well, so it's a must to purchase them fresh in-store. Highly recommend Macaron Bar!

Delicious & fresh macarons. The birthday cake was my absolute favorite. The shop is so cute and the service was great. I had my little girl with me and it was her birthday (she was wearing a bday sash), she gave her 1 free macaron. I thought that was so sweet. Well played, twist my arm to come back why don't ya!

My son said these are the best things ever. I can't say that I have tried them. But I would be willing to try something different. I would say try it and see what you think. I posted some pics of what they have to offer. I did try them and I have to say I may have crossed over to the dark side. Good news for this day. Is that they were having buy 12 get 6 free. Soooooooo I did buy 12 and took some home. Now parking really sucks. So have fun with that. I drive a large truck and the parking spots are made for compact cars. But let me add that you won't be disappointed to come in and try something delicious for your face. It will give you the yum yum wiggles. Doesn't that sound like something you want your body to do? Loved this little spot of heavenly, cloudy Macarons! Discovered this place thanks to the Popcorn spot right on its side and now I have two reasons to drive to this area. The Macarons where amazing!!!! Super soft but with enough texture and the European Merengue!!!, WOW! Talk about fluffy it was like a cotton candy that had a form of a merengue is as best as I can describe it. This is a most if your are in the area. You can get yourself a couple of slices of Pizza at Goodfellas right across the street, get yourself some popcorn at Al's delicious Popcorn right on its side and come over here and get you a sample of the best macaroons in Ohio and have one heck of a movie night! BTW the Birthday cake macaroon... Get at least 2, it's all I am going to say. In other words... It's a must!

We were making our way to the car when we spotted this macaron shop. They had a variety of flavors and we decided to get 6, since that's what fits in a box. Each flavor was good. I have to say my favorite was the fruity cereal. It wasn't overpowering nor too sweet. I also had it the next day and it was still fresh. The young girl was quick at tuning is out. It was empty when we got there but I glad we stopped by. We were not disappointed with the flavors. However the earl grey tea was not our favorite.

My friends and I accidentally found this place while wondering around on our day trip to Cincinnati. Clearly it was fate. I love macarons, especially really really good ones. I have to say, these macarons were pretty fantastic. Are they the best I've ever had? No, but they are darn close. I loved the exterior and interior of this place, very well done. This place is definitely a stop-by-and-go type of place as opposed to sit-down-and-eat type of place but that's not a bad thing. I limited myself to only getting two (I had more than enough sugar by that point but still, I lamented only getting two) and decided on the earl grey tea and the lemon lavender. They were beautifully crafted, the picture speaks for itself. The earl grey was sweet with a bit of earl grey taste in the frosting. I would have liked it to have more of the tea flavor but still, very good and fantastic texture. The lemon lavender was fantastic, both tastes came across well and the texture was again, fantastic. They were each $2.25 which can seem a bit steep since they're no the largest macarons but the quality and the taste seem to justify it. Next time I'm in town I'll definitely stop by agan!

Really amazing macarons. I tried this place for the first time and I think I'll have to come back every time I go to Cincinnati. I got a box of six macarons and I got six different flavors; Cinnamon Roll, Toasted Coconut, Dark Chocolate, Eggnog, Coffee, and Earl Gray Tea. They were amazing, perfectly chewy and sweet. The decor is simplistic but modern and very cool. I also loved the fact that the flavors were written in both English and French, not only is it accessible for French-speakers, but it also gives in an original, authentic flair. Next time you want some authentic French macarons or just a really good dessert, check out macaron bar. ( (Shoutout to Amy, Ryan, Richard, Doug and Brutus.)

I was part of a team tasked with organizing an event for our Food Industry professional organization. Nicole was out contact at the Macaron Bar and made the whole plan very easy. We booked out a Champagne and Macaron Pairing event that happened last night. Nathan and Patrick hosted us and took amazing care of us, even providing an extra cheese tray for the event and allowing us to bring in more snacks and waters. Nathan was very knowledgeable and gave us the background on all the wines they served and Patrick efficiently made sure our glasses were filled. We had an amazing evening and probably won some major brownie points with our organization for arranging such a fun event (though all the credit goes to the macaron bar).

my boyfriend and I went here about a month ago for dessert on a tuesday night. we had an awesome experience! the store was on the smaller side but cute and clean. the girl working was so nice and explained all of the menu items very well. We ordered a box of 6. some of my favorites were the fruity cereal, black raspberry chocolate, strawberry milkshake, and dark chocolate! the worker even included a couple extra samples for free of charge since it was the end of the night, which was so nice and unexpected! we would definitely return again!

I love this place nestled in the OTR. I travel a lot and have had macaroons all over and these are just as good. I got the black raspberry chocolate and toasted coconut. They have many kinds peach blueberry Madagascar vanilla and much more.

I was intrigued to try these and didn't suspect these treats would turn into an obsession! I'm now going to order two boxes for my moms birthday next weekend because these macarons have it all- they're visually beautiful bringing you just the dose of sunshine you need and all of the flavors are delicious and unique. I definitely recommend getting a box of each flavor (and then a backup second box when the first disappears in five seconds).

The Macaron Bar puts on special events and I went with a group of friends to the macaron and champagne pairing night. It's $40 ($34 if you sign up for the newsletter and use your 15% off offer). For that, one of the Macaron Bar's very knowledgeable owners walks you through of variety of four different bubblies, going over their history and how they are made. He pairs them with four different and delicious macarons. It's a fun, delicious and different night out. You go home with a sweet little reminder Recommended!

This is my second time eating a Macaron ever in my life. I've heard of it and wanted to know what this sweet dessert everyone is raving about. I know most know what it is but those who don't, a macaron is a drop cookie made of egg whites, sugar, usually almond paste or coconut, and sometimes a little flour. The first time I tried it was in Atlanta at a Paris Baguette- a specialty baked goods store. The flavor was caramel and it was okay. It was a bit stale. When I heard there would be a macron bar opening up downtown, I had to check it out myself. When I entered, a gentleman greeted me and was very friendly and helpful. There was many Macarons displayed and freshly made. It was so hard to choose. You can either get them: -$2.00 each -6 piece box for $12.00 -Dozen for $23.00 I decided to just try three flavors since the last time I tried a macaron, it was bad. I got: -Caramel -Praline -Pistacio My favorite was the Caramel!!! OMG! The taste just sat in my mouth and was so delicious!! Now I wish I would have gotten a 6 piece box!!! :) The Macaron bar is very spacious with seating. I love the retro decor! Besides Macarons, you can purchase beverages (coffee, tea, bottle/can products and more). After trying their product, I don't think I want to eat them anywhere else but here. An FYI, their macarons may contain nuts for those of you who have a peanut allergy and they are also gluten free. A great addition to the Over the Rhine area!

A bakery dedicated to nothing but macarons? I mean, how could this be anything but amazing?!?!? When I stayed with family over the holidays in Northern Kentucky, I got to meet the Yelp Cincy CM (Hi Cindy!) one morning for brunch. She mentioned that just down the street, a new bakery had opened up that we should try. And really, she had me at "Macaron Bar." The clean and white shop isn't very big, but considering it's only selling one type of pastry -- the delicate, French macaron -- it doesn't need much room. The front had a few tables, and separating the seating area from where the macarons are made is the counter, which displays an array of the colorful cookies. On my visit I got the six-piece box for $12, and filled it with one each of the salted caramel, raspberry, pistachio, chocolate, vanilla and pumpkin (seasonal) macarons. The salted caramel was my favorite. The mix of salty and sweet in such a delectable package really added complexity to the normal dainty macaron. The raspberry and pumpkin were also stand-outs. I was also impressed with Macaron Bar's packaging. The adorable blue and orange boxes give you such an adorable package to take home with you. Macaron Bar, please open up a location in Louisville! I would love you forever!

After a lovely lunch at a nearby restaurant in O-T-R my date and I decided to explore the rest of the neighborhood. We stumbled upon the Macaron Bar, which is in the middle of a block that appears to be going through some gentrification. As a big, BIG fan of macarons I was very, very excited this would be my dessert option. Upon walking in the first things I noticed... Wowzers, it's really bright in here! And hoooray for super cold air conditioning! The look to the MB is very minimal and lacking in color except for a few pops of color in the seating. I decide upon the blackcurrant and the green tea macarons. We take a seat in bright red chairs and watch the construction workers outside the window. Blackcurrant was up first. The texture of the macaron was spot on. The flavor was just ok. I try the green tea, and it was a total winner in my book! I loved it! Not too sweet. It for sure tastes like green tea.... the chilled kind with sweetener. So yummy! For spending only $4 on a dessert that I love, I felt this was worth the stop in. I would have taken a box home with me too if it weren't so warm outside that day.

Tasty pieces of sweet goodness! My birthday treat this year since I'm not big on cake. My favorite is red velvet & black raspberry chocolate but vanilla is up there too! I love trying different flavors and the employees are friendly!

I stopped her after getting locked out of my car. The girl working was gracious enough to let me sit with her after closing to let me wait for my husband to bring my car keys. It was super cold outside so I was super appreciative. I've heard of this place before but had never stopped by. But, i'm glad i did. First, i got a cup of tea. It was the best tea i think I've ever had. Rich and pipping hit. Very nice on a cold day. When I arrived, i was so stressed out because it was getting late and I'm not a night-time city girl, if you know what I mean. It was dark, I'm a woman and walking around alone down Main Street. Can't be good, huh? But, by the time I left, I was calm, relaxed and warm. This might be my new favorite place. It's location has a ton of character, clean, inviting and just a very happy place. Love it. It seems like it would be a great place for meeting clients, friends, work on the computer or just to relax.

Macarons are one of my favorite desserts and I was super excited that there was a place in OTR that specializes in Macarons. The shop is bright; the interior is white with hints of color. They have an open kitchen plan so you can see them making macarons. There were 2 small tables inside. I shared a 6-box for $13 with a friend. The packaging is cute and colorful. Perfect for a gift. I tried the raspberry, coconut and coffee flavor. The coconut was by far my favorite. There was a slight inconsistency with the texture of the macarons. The raspberry one wasn't as fluffy and more chewy than the other two, but all-in-all they were still pretty good. I definitely want try out one of their pairing events in the future!

We ordered 6 macarons ($15). The flavors were all good but several of them were a bit stale. At almost $3 a pop, they shouldn't taste like they've been sitting out for 1-2 days.

This place will take you on a flavor vacation! Seriously the best macarons I have ever tasted- they are a bit expensive, but worth it for the high quality and exciting flavors. I bought a six-box ($13) with 2 of each of their Madagascar Vanilla, Earl Grey Tea, and Pistachio. Guys I'm not kidding these were incredible. The store is small and there's a few chairs for sitting, street parking, and they also sell coffee. Worth every penny!

I actually placed an online order to have a box of macarons sent to my lil sis for her 21st bday in Colorado. Macaron Bar went above and beyond with their customer service -specifically want to give a major shout out to Maria Andres. I've never experienced such caring, thoughtful, and kind customer service before. This company really cares about their customers! Long story short, we had difficulties getting the macarons delivered and it never made it out to my lil sis, but Maria was so kind and offered to still send a box out to me at the least so we could still try. They arrived and they are amazing. You have a customer for life! Thank you a million times!!

Cool modern little shop featuring rotating flavors of homemade delectable macarons! This place is no frills, not much seating, maybe because the star of the show is just the dessert! I got a 6 pack variety box to go and my favorite flavor by far was the Black Raspberry Chocolate. They had a cool spicy one that I really liked too! These babies are a little pricey, but there is a lot of goodness packed into the small treat! Worth it as a once in a while treat! If you've never tried a macaron, you must, and these are the best!

OMG. This is going to stay on my 'to do' list for Cincy permanently. Love the color, the decor, the flavor choices, the big flavorful macarons--all of it. I tried an earl grey and a blueberry macaron and both were a delightful little dance on my taste buds. They also made fresh coffee and tea (hot or iced!) with individual little strainers/ steepers. It doesn't have a lot of seating capacity, but enough for two if it isn't busy. The staff was very nice and you could watch the magic being made from behind the glass--that was really cool too. Put this on your Cincy list if you like sweet colorful things.

Macaron Bar is so pretty inside! I love their Bar setup and contemporary yet casual feel in the establishment. AND They just keep getting tastier and tastier! Love being able to go across the street for these or getting a sweet surprise from hubs. Oh my gosh these Macarons were amazing! I have been looking for a good macaron shop and I am telling you I found it. I read some reviews from my fellow yelpers and they all had good things to say. So I decided to put it to the test my self. I ordered 6 Macarons: Salted Caramel Lemon Lavander Black Raspberry Chocolate Birthday Cake Earl Grey Tea Pistachio My friend ordered: Coffee Dark Chocolate Salted Caramel Coconut x 2 Black Raspberry Chocolate My Favorite out of all the ones that I had would have to be Earl Grey Tea and Lemon Lavander. I had a fear that the Lemon Lavander would have a really strong Lavander flavor, but that was not the case at all. It just the right amount, and extremly delicous. The earl Grey Tea was also made to perfection. All the Macarons had the prefect texture and you could see the its little feet. The one Macaron that I absolutly was not a fan of would be the Salted Caramel. I love salted caramel, but this one was a big disappointment. To me it tasted very buttery and very salty. My friend had one as well which tasted different from the one that I had, so I am assuming that they came from different batches. Over all I have nothing bad to say. The Macaron Bar met all my expectations. The only thing that was a bit of a bummer was that they ran out of cute boxes to place them in, so we got them in a bag instead. Was a little disappointed because I've seen them on other reviews and they were so cute. But other than that I can not complain. They have a rewards program that you can sign up for. (It's Free, I asked!!) Just for signing up you get a FREE macaron. I would definetley come back again. The employees were very nice, and they didnt mind at all that my best friend and I sat there for an hour, taking pictures in their shop, talking and devouring 6 macarons.

The best macarons in Ohio, in my opinion. So sad that I moved away from Cincinnati. Nothing compares. Also, the peppermint and gingerbread ones were awesome. Pistachio and dark chocolate are my personal favorites. Definitely a must visit if you're visiting the area and love these delicate French pastries.

A macaroon (mac·a·roon, makroon) is a light cookie made with egg white, sugar, and usually ground almonds or coconut. Nothing against macaroons, but this isn't your grandma's cookie. And, more specifically, macarons are what draw you to the Bar. They are colorful, delicate, and presented to their audience in a stark white, MODlike atmosphere that makes me feel like Twiggy and Andy Warhol are just waiting behind the counter to introduce you to their new art installation: Soup Can dresses and Macaron hats. Yes, macarons are an expensive sweet. A dozen dainty cookies will cost you 25.00 hard earned dollars. That's because those suckers are difficult to make, and it takes real artistry to perfect them. And Macaron Bar does just that. Offering about a dozen or so flavors daily, you can dive into all star favorites like passion fruit, lemon, and vanilla, or indulge in the more exotic Earl Grey, Bourbon Ale, and pistachio. I suggest making a visit earlier in the day for a few nibbles (they tend to run out of flavors) but if you are grabbing a pack of 12 on a hot day, wait until you are heading home. They are best at room temperature but tend to begin melting when left in the sunshine. I'm looking forward to taking one of their baking classes: 95.00 (or 85.00 if you bring a group of 4 or more) and you get to learn the art of macaron baking, sample the wears, and take home a box of your creations. Ummmm, yes please.

Visited Macaron Bar when attending my first ever Yelp hosted event onsite. Ever since, I always make sure to either stop in the OTR location when on Main St or stop to say hello to the manager when they are out at community events like The Best of Cincinnati event. The Macaron making classes they offer are cool, and could be a nice gift to that baker or want to be maker you know. This location has limited seating up front, with more space or hosting the classes. Ordering is pretty simple, pick your flavors, they box it up, pay and your on your way.

I definitely think this is a unique dessert spot in Cincinnati. I had high hopes for the macarons here but after visiting, I could only deem the colorful treats as average. I tried the dark chocolate, Madagascar vanilla, and red velvet macarons. The dark chocolate tasted the freshest. The other two tasted a bit dry. I think I'm a bit partial to tasty, authentic macarons, after trying a bunch in France. These are great macarons for Cincinnati but can't compare to their Parisian counterparts.

This was a great place to stop in. I loved the space, and the options for macarons were great- and delicious. I've not attended a class here, but I liked what options there were- the lemon lavender were amazing. Would love it if there were more flavor options in future. There's also a frequent shopper option that a friend went for- I'll have to check in with her and see how it went. The staff was friendly and attentive and because it was slow we weren't limited to what was just out on display already, which was good as a few options were running low.

They have a lot of different macaron flavors. My favorite are lemon lavender and earl grey. The coffee one was pretty creamy. I got 6 macaroons and all of them were full of flavors and fresh.

What a cool place. 14 different flavors! And they were so yummy. My boyfriend got a dozen which comes in a nice box. I ordered two because I am trying to limit my indulging. The black raspberry chocolate one reminded me strongly of Graeters black raspberry chip so that the greatest thing ever. I HIGHLY recommend that. I would invest of one of this popping up in Cleveland, so whoever reads this, can you make that happen??

Ah, Macaron Bar. The highly anticipated and wonderful addition to Main Street is finally here! In case you are wondering - a Macaron is a French sweet meringue based cookie made with egg white, icing sugar, granulated sugar, almond powder or ground almond, and food coloring and filled with a creamy ganache center. Sounds delicious right? Well now you can stuff your face with these delicious little treats between the hours of: Monday - Thursday: 8am - 7pm Friday - Saturday: 8am - 10pm Sunday: 9am - 5pm Their macarons can be purchased individually, or in boxes of 6 or 12. To be honest, the ones I loved were the ones I least expected. The passionfruit & raspberry were bursting with flavor and were definitely our favorites. The pistachio just didn't give me enough of that salty flavor I was looking for. And the hazelnut & chocolate were just a little boring. If I were you, I would suggest stepping outside your comfort zone and getting a sampler of some of their more creative flavors. Overall loved my experience and appreciate the texture and delicate nature of these little treats. I know how difficult they are to make. Huge high five & a big welcome to OTR. A must-see and oddly specific venue catering to macarons and macarons only. For the life of me I can't understand how a place like this can exist from a business model perspective, but hey, I'm gonna love it while it's there. Not cheap, but not a bank breaker either-- for two bucks you can get a tiny and insanely delicious cookie in one of a dozen flavors --and just when you think you've tried them all, they throw out something new, like Chocolate Orange Blossom (magnificent). So far my favorite is Passion Fruit, but a wide variety is available including yummy Chocolate, an oddly perfume tasting Rose, and a couple of unexpected Tea flavors. You'll probably want to get a box of six for $12 or a dozen for $23 and then you'll somehow woof them all down before the end of the night. It's okay, nobody was looking! Macaron Bar also offers $93 classes on Saturdays (that include all the macarons you make - like 36ish) and some excellent graphic design choices Anyone else ever wonder why it's not spelled macaroons? I feel like I should be calling them MacaRONs. What's up with that?

I originally wrote a review saying that I liked Macaron Bar's macarons, but couldn't see myself coming here because of the price ($2/cookie). While I still maintain that their prices are high, after taking their macaron making class (which, btw, I would 100% recommend to any other foodies out there or people that are passionate about baking!), I understand the labor of love that it takes to make these little treats, and the high price tag makes a lot more sense. Making macarons is not easy ya'll. Especially making them as beautiful as the ones at Macaron Bar. The class alone took us almost three hours, so I can't imaging how much work goes in to making these every day. Plus, I often see the owner in the back cooking up a storm, so you know they're making these by hand. Now as far as flavors, some of them are better than others. My favorites are the salted caramel, pistachio, raspberry, passion fruit, seasonal gingerbread, and seasonal pumpkin spice. Their chocolate, vanilla, and tea macarons are more mild and don't pack the flavor punch of their fruit or caramel ones. My favorite thing about Macaron Bar's macarons though are the texture of the cookie...So crunchy but chewy, it really is a one of a kind dessert. Macarons are definitely a treat and not something that I eat every time I'm craving sweets. But every once in a while, it's lovely to enjoy something that is just as beautiful as it is tasty. Plus my husband knows they make perfect presents (I would much rather have a box of macarons than a bouquet of flowers!).

I did the macaron making class with three friends and it was a blast. We got a discount being a group of four and for being students, but even at full price it would have been worth it. You learn so much in 3 hours. Making the macarons is an extremely hands on process and they demonstrate everything before you do it. Each pair makes the own batch and filling (you share the fillings to end up with 4 different flavors). Our batch made almost 4 dozen macarons, which we got to take home!! Everyone at Macaron Bar was so helpful and fun to work with. This class is great for anyone interested in baking or wanting a special thing to do with friends!
