While this place has a really nice atmosphere and perfect to sit and enjoy a drink in the evening, the food wasn’t quite worth it for me. It’s quite expensive and portions don’t really match. The vegetarian dumplings, while good, were $23 for 6 dumplings and the tofu skewers were $15 for 2 thin slices of tofu - would not recommend. The best and most worthwhile dish here was only the tempura eggplant.

Loved the quality of Asian fusion food. The atmosphere and service were great as well. Would love to go back again when we visit Tauranga.

Came for a birthday meal out and was impressed. Expensive so be prepared for that. Hubby and I had a main, dessert and a drink each for $150. Was not impressed by the size of the raw tuna meal for $29 compared to what you get at Satori lounge. Very small and covered in so much onion the table was shocked. Had to order the cauliflower so I actually got a dinner, it was fab! The curries were amazing with lovely rich spicy sauces - be prepared for spice! The desserts were equally impressive. I found the drink menu expensive and would go to satori lounge for Sake instead. $15 for 90ml of sake is too much. Would only come here again if someone else was paying.

Very nice food but thought the chicken curry was over priced and rice cost extra. The rum blossom cocktail was superb.

Got recommended this restaurant and it did not disappoint! Macau Bar Kitchen & Lounge delivered an unforgettable dining experience. We started with the Macau Prawn & Chicken Spring Rolls, Korean Sticky Fried Chicken, and Ginger Prawn Dumplings – every bite was packed with flavor and perfect for sharing around the table. Then the mains arrived, and they exceeded all expectations! The Makhani Chicken Curry was rich, creamy, and perfectly spiced, while the Crispy Lamb Bowl ‘Bi Bim Bap’ was a vibrant mix of textures and flavors that left us craving more. If you’re in Tauranga, Macau is an absolute must-visit! Exceptional food, great ambiance, and top-notch service.

"Wow, I think this is my new favourite eatery", I told my family, while still browsing the menu. This is the kind of food I love and it was excellent. I absolutely loved the dinner here and left so full I was uncomfortably content. It's a great atmosphere and the waiting staff were friendly and professional. Seems to have plenty of gluten free options available for Coeliacs which pleased my wife and food came reasonably quickly too. I will definitely be back to try other dishes on the menu.

Just gets better and better! It's been some time since we've eaten here and tonight did not disappoint. Tempura eggplant (a total winner) ginger and prawn dumplings and spring rolls an absolute delight for a shared starter. My main was beef cheeks and noodles... Yummy! My dad had the duck pancakes which were also delicious. We finished off the dinner with a creme caramel. Absolutely mouth wateringly good and excellent service. Well worth a trip into town.

My wife and I were blown away by the food… Amazing taste, great portion sizes and was served in a timely manner. I don’t know what planet some of these low reviews are from, but don’t let them turn you away. We are from Auckland and used to paying a lot more for no where near as good food. We ordered the Cucumber salad, Lamb Lettuce wraps (wow), sticky fried chicken and the Short Rib Red Curry. Will definitely be coming back
