This is a weird one for me. Let me explain. The restaurant is in the Military Club and the history I don’t need to mention here as you can do a quick search on Google. This restaurant was recommended to me, so we turned up right at their opening hour but without making a reservation. Sadly I do not find the receptionist being friendly and she made us waited for 20 mins (without telling us, despite I asked after waiting for 10 mins, whether there is a table available or not) before showing us a table. There is very little interaction between the waiting staff and the receptionist. Typical old fashioned European clubs in Asia where service is that important anymore but they can rely solely on the historical background and history. We stayed for over 3 hours and it turned out that the restaurant was never used to its full capacity. Sorry for ranting, I just thought they really should do much better. The coldness and unfriendliness is absolutely unnecessary for a crime of not making a reservation. I said it is weird because despite of all this, I still give a 5 star. This is because the food is truly amazing. I had the lobster bisque. Usually restaurants do a gimmick when serving without much substance when it comes to the soup. This is different, the soup is actually hot exactly the right temperature taking into account the time of consuming from start to finish. The seafood with wet rich is truly exceptional. Rich and generous in the variety of seafood! It was excellent. I do however have a problem with Portuguese wine I guess. I am not very familiar with their wine. I must say we did not enjoy their “Tiara Douro”, it was so plain and odd that I thought it must be off (not corked) and I asked the sommelier to taste it but he confirmed that is the taste. We find it hard to adjust our palate and we just order another one which turned out to be a bit more suitable. The service is ok, not very attentive but at least not pretentious and they were friendly. Don’t expect 5 star service here. I like the decoration of the restaurant and their food. Because of their food, if I visit Macau again, I will definitely come back. Food 9.5/10, ambience 9/10, service 7/10, value for money 9/10.

Haven’t been here for years (probably already 20 years) We came late for dinner before heading back to HK Then we quickly ordered a few dishes (Portuguese Macau food?) 1. Suckling pig - very delicious that is better than many other restaurants in Macau 2. The beef/ribs on the top rice - this is very good 3. Seafoods rice -very tasty and worth to order 4. Veggie - we ordered it to have a balanced diet (this is very Chinese dish) 5. Draft beer - can’t remember the name and I like it Price - very reasonable Services - the Filipino servers are very helpful and nice Hope we will come again soon

Very homely environment in a historical building Food and service was outstanding Recommend to give them a call to book The ham appetiser and crispy skin suckling pork were the highlight of me

The evening we chose to eat, was also the night that the bar was booked for a private party so the cocktails we hoped to have before dinner were off the menu. The staff were stretched between the bar and the restaurant making the service a bit slow and impersonal. However, the food was excellent and made up for any temporary shortfalls from the service. Will definitely go back to sample some of their other dishes. The highlight was the suckling pig which was so soft and juicy, just amazing!

It is always nice to dine in a historical place. The experience will be enhanced by knowing what has happened in the building. Lot of old photos around and you could still see the resemblance. The waiters are diligent in refilling water and very efficient in settling payment. However , for the food, I tried the buffet which cost 198 mop per pax. I have to say that I do not know how to appreciate the food. Not many choices and the taste of most items are a bit tasteless (for me only). But I did see ppl happily taking food fro moths table again and again. So I guess it is my problem. To me, the experience is more worth it comparing to the food I paid for.

Good dining experience. Weekend three is option for buffet. Good service. Some of the dishes the portion are too big. Check before you order.

The food is just okay and overpriced, with main courses starting at $200. However, the atmosphere and service are excellent.

This restaurant is definitely over-rated. I booked this restaurant as it is highly rated and we picked the signature dishes. Yet, everything was quite disappointed. The tuna was overly cooked, it was so dry and hard, not much of a flavour except for the olive oil. Then came the risotto which turned out to be the best dishes among all. The scampi with codfish was super disappointed. The scampi was wayyy over cooked, they were super dry and hard. Wasn’t expecting codfish already mixed with the mashed potatoes but that was the dish. The suckling pig was toooo oily and fat and the meat and the sauce both had no flavour at all. Hence, we didn’t bother to stay for the dessert. The restaurant is spacious with high ceiling but the decoration but it’s quite a simple restaurant without much details. The only thing I admire is that the drinks are very cheap, small jar of sangria only costed 75MOP.
