Macau Military Club Restaurant

Good dining experience. Weekend three is option for buffet. Good service. Some of the dishes the portion are too big. Check before you order.

The evening we chose to eat, was also the night that the bar was booked for a private party so the cocktails we hoped to have before dinner were off the menu. The staff were stretched between the bar and the restaurant making the service a bit slow and impersonal. However, the food was excellent and made up for any temporary shortfalls from the service. Will definitely go back to sample some of their other dishes. The highlight was the suckling pig which was so soft and juicy, just amazing!

It is always nice to dine in a historical place. The experience will be enhanced by knowing what has happened in the building. Lot of old photos around and you could still see the resemblance. The waiters are diligent in refilling water and very efficient in settling payment. However , for the food, I tried the buffet which cost 198 mop per pax. I have to say that I do not know how to appreciate the food. Not many choices and the taste of most items are a bit tasteless (for me only). But I did see ppl happily taking food fro moths table again and again. So I guess it is my problem. To me, the experience is more worth it comparing to the food I paid for.

This restaurant is definitely over-rated. I booked this restaurant as it is highly rated and we picked the signature dishes. Yet, everything was quite disappointed. The tuna was overly cooked, it was so dry and hard, not much of a flavour except for the olive oil. Then came the risotto which turned out to be the best dishes among all. The scampi with codfish was super disappointed. The scampi was wayyy over cooked, they were super dry and hard. Wasn’t expecting codfish already mixed with the mashed potatoes but that was the dish. The suckling pig was toooo oily and fat and the meat and the sauce both had no flavour at all. Hence, we didn’t bother to stay for the dessert. The restaurant is spacious with high ceiling but the decoration but it’s quite a simple restaurant without much details. The only thing I admire is that the drinks are very cheap, small jar of sangria only costed 75MOP.

Don’t be fooled by my uninspiring and unappetizing photos of the buffet (yes, buffet) but this place is a home run. One of the best meals we had on our trip in terms of quality and taste. Try for a traditional Portuguese inspired meal with 4-5 courses of deliciousness.

They did not allow me to make a reservation, however I was lucky to get a place when walk-in, the wait was about 30mins. Service was excellent. We order the set dinner. As I was allergic to squid, they were really nice to change main dish for me. It was my good friend birthday and they will so nice to prepare the dessert with a candle and Happy Birthday 🎈 message. 👍🏼👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Good food and service, very reasonable priced food and wine. We booked 1 day in advance. Dress code smart casual (no shorts or slippers). It’s going through external decorations, but inside is not affected. Will comeback.

Delicious Portuguese buffet lunch on Sundays. Attentive and attentionate service, very much "club-like" style, with a feeling of exclusivity. The venue projects us in 19th century, with the weight of Macau history and many Western and Chinese Macanese guests speaking in Portuguese language make it a totally local atmosphere, outside of the usual tourist crowd and artificial gambling side of Macau. Located in Macau center, next to the Lisboa casino, with a very reasonable pricing and an excellent value. Warmly recommended!
