Macelleria Bondi Beach

Lots of promise not lived up to. The experience died when ordering and went down from there. The lad taking our order did not know the menus and his english skills were so poor he couldn’t understand our questions about menu. We probably ordered less as a result. Our pint of beer was pulled so there was no head. The wait was long with no offer of a drink top up. We along with others in the restaurant seemed to wait along time for our meal. We waited 30 minutes or more. After the wait the food. Cold soggy fries. I had to ask for a replacement. Burger bun stale, $50 steak was ordinary. Coleslaw just lacklustre. The meat was cooked okay, but it seemed a bit cold. Maybe I should’ve expected that since it was a thick piece of meat. The nice marble looking steaks in the window were not reflected with what hit the plate. I’ve had way more tender beef from Aldi. I have long look forward to trying Macelleria as it looks so good. Our expensive treat was a let down. So if you’re treating yourself, I would not recommend my Marcelleria. You’ll probably get a better meal a lot cheaper at the pub a few doors up.

We have been coming to this place for the past couple of years and it never disappoints. Over the years they have always maintained a high level of quality. The food is always fresh, made to perfection and has everything that you expect from a professionally made steak. The staff are polite and friendly. We are very happy with our experience and definitely come back again. Highly recommended to everyone else.

The food was amazing. Andy the owner got us a table for 6 when it was a full restaurant with a line. I love the concept of seeing your steak before choosing what you want. Service was so fast and the taste was amazing. We loved the steak, chicken pasta, and sweet potato wedges. Would definitely recommend!

If you're looking for a post-swim feast or just an awesome steak experience, my tip is to head to Macelleria. We had lunch yesterday and it was terrific. Steak was flawless, perfectly seared crust, tender inside. For sides, we had the broccoli, roasted veges, and sweet potato fries. Great beer too. Location is unbeatable, right across from Bondi Beach. Service was quick, Georgina and Andy were great. I'd give it six if I could… heading back Monday for more - everything coming out of the kitchen looked perfect.

The steak is extremely good and burgers are so fantastic. The surface is nice too. We’d like the waiter to cut the burger and they sent it to the kitchen to help us. The price is beautiful too.

Best dinner I had in Bondi, better yet, best dinner I had in Australia! The food was incredible, fresh, flavorful, and great portions. I was greeted so politely by the staff from the start and that same level of hospitality remained throughout my entire time. It was my birthday and everyone made a point to give me wishes and Miranda managed to make my birthday extra special. I even met the owner Matt who was so kind and a pleasure to meet. This is a great local spot, with a great all round experience! I highly recommend going to Macelleria for the food but staying for the people and the atmosphere!

The most amazing chicken burger I’ve ever had and I’ve had a fair few. The Ceezar my son had the rump steak with mash. He said it was amazing too. Such good quilts meat and reasonable for what it was.
