This is “the sister” camp of “big” Machaba. It has only 4 tents and a super friendly and diligent camp manager , Kutlo. Tents are super nicely fitted, very clean and each a “terrace” with direct , unique & private view to the sorroudings. Yes, hippos and others came super close at night ! Food was always too good (and also too much !) and the comunal dinners made us all feel like a family. Game was EXCELLENT, and the guide we had, BT, was really really really great. He had so much knowledge but especially , a contagious passion for showing and telling us all about mother nature. We had an amazing walking safari with him and a canoe (mokoro) one with trained guides from the bigger camp. What I really enjoyed is that we didnt have to drive much to enjoy amazing sightings: we saw lepard, hyenas - including baby ones still nursing! - lions with their cubs or even swimming as they were following some impalas, elefants, giraffs , kudos… and so many birds, from big marabus to little blue kingfishers. An amazing stay! While tents were equipped even w a Nespresso coffee machine, they had no kettle or something to have warm water at night if needed - eg for a tea- which was only available in the main area but that required being escorted and after dinner, unless if for an emergency, there was no way to connect and ask for one. We really enjoyed the hospitality and the game here and would be ready to come back any time !

A truly unique and unforgettable experience. Chief, Ado, and all staff were very kind and happy to help in any way they could. The gift shop was very nice as well- some of the goods are even made by staff or locals. Our Safari guides Moss and Eric were extremely knowledgeable, kind, and kept us safe!

Beautiful lodge with a colonial feel to it situated on the banks of the Khwai River. Watched elephants and game drink from the river, so tranquil surrounded by the sounds of nature. Staff are very professional and friendly and have a great sense of humour creating a family and relaxed feel. Rooms are luxurious and very spacious and tents have lovely views. Had a lovely stay, only complaint is that my stay was too short. Highly recommend this lodge

Stayed at Machaba Camp for our honeymoon. The place was incredible and the tent was very well equipped. Service was excellent and we could not have asked for better views. The food was delicious and home made (especially the kudu pie). our tent was visited by some curious elephants. We were incredibly surprised by the knowledge of our guide (Moss), who tracked a pack of wild dogs by looking at their footprints and showed us how to examine/analyse footprints.

We’ve just returned from a stay of 2 nights there and it was an incredible experience!! Of course that guests have to be prepared for sleeping on a tent close to animals and nature, but it has an excellent service and people were all very nice. Food delicious!|A very special thanks to the manager Mrs Mutlo and the guide BT who made all their efforts to make our stay unforgettable. Thanks a lot!!!

Machaba was nothing short of spectacular. We stayed at 3 Machaba owned camps for our honeymoon and this was our first stop. The camp location is spectacular, overlooking the Khwai River and Moreno Game Reserve, and even though there are quite a few camps in the area, you can neither see or hear them from the camp, you truly feel in the wild.|The only quality of the game we saw in the Khwai concession was spectacular, within the first afternoon we saw elephants, leopards and wild dogs. The next days were equally spectacular and we saw incredibly varied game. ||Eric our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. He always managed to find the best animals, and best angles to photograph them.||One of the things about the Khwai concession is that due to the amount of camps in the area, you do have many vehicles around sightings, which can sometimes be bothersome.||The camps quality was incredible, the beds comfortable and even though we had a problem with our electricity one night, it was quickly fixed by the team. ||The food was quite good for a safari camp, although maybe having a menu option as in another of the camps we stayed at would give guests more variety. ||The general staff was very friendly, although they felt a bit more reserved and serious than the staff at the other camps we stayed at.||All in all we couldn’t recommend Machaba more, and we will be looking to stay there again in the near future.

We had been to Little Machaba camp back in 2017 with our daughter and it holds a place in our heart ! We were travelling back to the Delta with special friends and felt we had to visit the camp again ….. always a risk as it might have changed! We weren’t disappointed … it’s still holds a magic, small , intimate, friendly, quiet…only 4 tents ..you felt part of the family. I even recognised staff from 2017! Efficiently managed, lovely guide Shaun who was so enthusiastic and fun to be with …he found lots of animals we hadn’t seen before and was always happy to take us on long drives! Lots of lion, elephants at close quarters, even honey badgers. We followed a pack of painted dogs hunting…very special. We had a beautiful Mokoro ride in the beautiful morning sunshine which gave us a different view of the waterways. The beautiful tiny Malachite kingfisher swooped and dived as did the Pied Kingfisher . We saw fish eagles, brown snake eagles, Lilac breasted rollers and multiple aquatic waders…even the stunning Goliath heron. Eating in the evening was communal and fun with hot ashes under our seat to keep us warm . They even had a pop up Gin bar for our sundowners out on the game drive. Thank you for your hospitality …truly memorable!||( just one point …. Not the camp to blame but the concession is more of a “shared concession” in my opinion with many more self drive jeeps than back in 2017 which did take away from some of the viewings.. definitely busier …I think you’ll lose business if you don’t find some way to manage this.)

Such a special place for people, wildlife and the peaceful setting. From the moment we arrived to when we left several days later we were welcomed and embraced. We wanted a connection to wildlife that are managed ethically and respected, and where the local community benefits from our visit. We loved the glamping along the delta, the mokoro experience, eating beautiful food under the stars. We really felt immersed in our luxurious tent with the wildlife sights and sounds on the right on our doorstep and the through the camp. It was incredible, thank you
