Machchafushi Island Resort & Spa Maldives, The Centara Collection

We had a wonderful and relaxing 7 night stay. We had an over water bungalow sunset facing with a pool. The staff are all very friendly with plenty of activities on offer. They made a big deal of my birthday with decorations on the bed, cake and bubbles! The Club was a fantastic place to relax with afternoon snacks or evening canapés. Rishard made sure our glasses were always full and the service was over and above, we wanted for nothing. The spa experience was also amazing, we returned 4 times!!. My masseuse Pin was very skilled and I left each treatment beaming. My husband described his masseuse as the Mr Miyagi of massage. Highly recommended.

It's a beautiful property in the middle of the ocean. It has a fabulous view and the coral are outstanding. The hospitality is next level. The sea plane experience is awesome. The staff (specially Aman, Michel, Rishard, Madu, Chef Jitin, Pradeep, Sajiko, Sherry, Sunny, Photographer Shafiu) is well accomodating and the chef also customises the food as per your preferences. Over all 8/10 it was an amazing stay.

This was the resort we chose to celebrate our wedding anniversary. All the staff were friendly, but Mr. Samsul, the housekeeper, was the most memorable. He decorated our room every night with his own special talent, making our anniversary even more special. I think the memories of a good trip can be felt through the kindness of people rather than the luxurious facilities of the hotel. In that sense, I would like to leave a message of gratitude to him. I have been to several other resorts in the Maldives, but this was the only one where I had the luck to see whale sharks and manta rays. I would also like to thank the staffs who joined in the activity with me, who were experts in spotting them.

Overall, this is a fantastic island, and with some improvements would be truely outstanding. We choose this island for a number of reasons. a) One of the few places that have full size twin beds in the family villa for our adult kids b) good location for Manta & Whale Shark and c) reported quality of the house reef. d) Appeared good value for money compared to similiar options.||Whats great:||* Staff - everyone were really friendly and went out of their way to make you feel welcomed and did everything they could to ensure you had a great trip. Special mention to Mitchel in the club area and Alex (dive master), but our room attendant who's name I didnt write down (sorry!)|* House reef - so much to see, reef sharks, stingray and a resident turtle outside villa 2|* Thai & Italian rest - good range of meals and high quality, we ate most of our meals in these resturants.|* The Club - (if in your package). Really nice place to have a few drinks and snacks 'all inclusive'|* Location - Very small island, most accomodation is over sea. The grounds & beaches are stunning. As mentioned, great for Manta / Whale Shark trips and lots of great dive sites nearby|* Spa - Simple excellent, one of the best of all Spas I have stayed in. Staff, treatments and venue are top class. This, and the house reef, are one of the gems of this location.||Could be better||* The Reef - The breakfast buffet is great (but I would eat in the Club if you have this access). Lunch & Dinner tend to cater more for Asian guests and many of the meals are lukewarm. For lunch, they served chicken and pepper sauce 3 days in a row. What is good value was the lobster dinner (at cost). Its a great shame as, compared to say Lily Beach, its the weak link in this Island|* Overall, the place has a sun bleached chic feel about it, but in a few places its age is showing a little where the chic turns to tired. Personally, it wasnt really an issue, but it you have stayed at 5 star islands elsewhere, you would notice it (but then, this is probably reflected in the slightly lower pricing). ||If I was the sort of person that goes back to the same place again (I am not), then I wouldnt hestitate in going back. Thank you to all the staff who helped make the trip for my family a fantastic one.

Had an amazing time at the resort, the staff were so lovely. Special mentions go to Sunny in the Italian restaurant & neeraj & team at the bar, but honestly everyone was so accommodating, friendly & helpful. Really great week with attentive staff. Beautiful beaches. Yoga and Pilates classes offered daily. A great gym. We visited the spa a couple of times, the massages and body scrubs left us feeling relaxed and revitalised. Would definitely recommend this resort

We had a week here with our family of 4. We opted specifically for this part of the Maldives in the hope of swimming with a whale shark. We were not dissapoitn d and felt very grateful to swim with one as well as manta rays and turtles, an amazing experience. The staff here are friendly and attentive, every one. Our room was looked after by Rocky and he was superb. Not only did he do his role excellently, he went above and beyond with towell and sand art to entertain our kids. They loved it and him and he made the stay extra special. One odd negative is the instance on you organising everything through the hotel app which was not very user friendly. That aside the service was as excellent and would love to come back again.

We had a great time at the resort. Great room services with very cute towel arts (bed decorations) with Amanulla. The room was always kept clean and freshened twice a day!
