i wish these donuts tasted as good as they looked ! i was so excited to try these interesting, unique flavours, but i’m not sure if the donuts really CAPTURED the essence of these things. i will give credit to the quality and freshness of the donuts — every single one was super soft and pillowy (although they were quite oily as well) — as well as the generous amount of filling in all of these, because WOW THEY WERE ALL OOZING OUT.
the matcha banana pudding didn’t have a super distinct matcha or banana pudding flavour, i think it was more biscoff tbh. however, i’ll admit even the FAINT sweetness of the banana made a LETHAL combination with the biscoff. the filling was superrrr creamy too.
the dubai chocolate brownie one was a bit sweeter, but i think i would’ve liked a bit more pistachio cream and spreaded out the kunafa more, to balance out the flavours. the crumble of the sweet yet slightly bitter chocolate, the nutty, light, mellowness of the pistachio cream, and the veritable CRUNCHINESS of the slightly salty, earthy kunafa were all great together, but there was SOMETHING missing — it was missing a PUNCH (and maybe more kunafa spread out in the donut would’ve helped?)
the ube cream brûlée was also a bit disappointing? the top had a nicely torched burnt sugar aroma and was slightly crackling, but the ube filling was underwhelming. it wasn’t very sweet or flavourful, and i wouldn’t say it was the most memorable treat.
