"Train Trip to Machu Picchu Machu Picchu is located just fifty miles from Cusco. However, there is no direct road between the two cities. Unless you're walking the Inca Trail, you'll need to take a train from Cusco. The main operators are Peru Rail and Inka Rail, each of which offers a variety of budget and luxury options. Peru Rail runs a luxurious train, named after Hiram Bingham, that costs around $475 USD for a round-trip. Demand is high, so be sure to book the tickets in advance. You can also take any of the trains from Ollantaytambo to the small town of Aguas Calientes. From there, Machu Picchu is a 30-minute drive up the hill."
Machu picchu station is very, very accessible. Buy a bridge which is connected from the plaza square. It has very good directions. Tickets need to be bought in advance and the Passport shown at the entrance. It has beautifully decorated walls and instructions. Systematically boarding is expedited as soon as the train arrives. It is very systematic and easy. Very, very impressed as a tourist love. The Peru rail and also the voyager. The luxury train must visit machu picchu

Clean train station with clean bathrooms, a small cafeteria and immaculate gardens surrounded by beautiful mountains. Buy tickets for Inca Rail or Peru Rail here but i recommend buying your tickets in advance online. Its recommended to arrive 30 minutes before your departure time. Safe travels!

Great little train station here in Aguas Calientes. The station is well maintained and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It is strategically located right by the market and close to the town center. We had one member in a group that required some assistance due to mobility issues and all the staff were more than helpful in ensuring that we got onto the train in a timely manner and was given a comfortable corner to sit while waiting. Especially Eric who was also the Warrior on our Inca Rail train from Ollantaytambo was very helpful to our family!

It is a small station and nothing special to mention about it. Facilities are limited and the toilets are NOT one of the best.

Small train station with AMAZING TRAINS.
If I had not been part of a group tour but travelling solo, I would have spent even more time watching the trains shunting!
Probably not as eco friendly as modern trains but..!!!

In the whole town of Aquas Calientes, there is not so many things what to do. But still, it is a nice place where to stay before/after the trip to the ancient town of Machu Picchu. The train station I located just next to the main market which is good cuz there are more options where to eat some local food or buy some souvenirs. Inside of the station is waiting room under the roof, coffee shop and toilet as well. Nice place before departure. Thank you 🤩

What a views during the train ride on the way back from the MP. Would definitely recommend to take the train. The only thing is that they have a lot of on-board entertainment which was a bit too much for me after doing a 5 day hike trek. Still couldn’t recommend this enough, take a window seat and just enjoy the views!

This is where trains come from and go to Cusco or Ollantaytambo. Those are the Peru Rail and Inca Rail lines. This station is very big and feels like a European station. You'll find lots of seating area, snacks, drinks and restrooms. The station entrance is an outdoor gated entry that's on the edge if a huge local market. You MUST go through the market to reach the station. Arrive at least thirty minutes early to catch your train.
