This was my third time staying in the Mackenzie and it's still the best stay you're going to find in Inuvik outside of perhaps a private AirBnb. The location is excellent and they keep things up very nice. The only two complaints I have are first, the restaurant. Inconsistent quality and you never know when it's going to be open. One morning I had the best breakfast ever. So I decided to order the exact same thing two mornings later. Almost inedible. ||The second complaint, that really needs looked at, is the room temperatures. We were there winter and it was mild temps outside (about 0 c). The room temp got as high as 28 c. Nothing we did would bring the temp down. Turned heat off, tried turning on AC, nothing. I have no idea where it was coming from. The only thing we could do to regulate heat was keep windows open for long periods of time. We'd eventually get it down to about 19, close windows, wait a couple hours, then have to repeat. During the entire stay and throughout each night. ||Other than that, we enjoyed the stay. As everyone knows, you don't have many options in Inuvik.

Best Hotel Option in Inuvik: A Solid 4-Star Stay I rated this hotel four stars, considering the amenities and services available in Inuvik. For the area, it’s easily the best accommodation you’ll find. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-maintained, providing a comfortable stay. However, one drawback is that the air conditioning is centrally controlled by the hotel. This can be inconvenient, especially if you prefer cooler temperatures in the summer or extra warmth in the winter. The location is a big plus—it’s conveniently close to a grocery store and several shops, making it easy to grab anything you need. The on-site restaurant has irregular hours, so it’s a good idea to check their schedule ahead of time. Personally, I often opt for the grocery store across the street, where you’ll find quick meal options like KFC and Pizza Hut counters. Overall, this hotel is a reliable choice for a comfortable stay in Inuvik.

This hotel is great. The location is very central in Inuvik, all walkable. Downtown etc. the room is clean and hospitable. The Maqmaqtuk restaurant downstairs has good options and is super fast. Fridge, microwave and coffee maker in room. It was super hot in the room with the air unit not seeming to cool anything down but nothing an open window didn’t fix.

Having stayed at a couple of places in Inuvik, can confirm that this place is worth the extra money. Great service, clean, comfortable rooms and an excellent restaurant. Will stay here again next time I'm in Inuvik.

Here’s the good:|Good sized beds.|Clean room. |Nice bathroom|Air conditioned|Microwave, refrigerator, coffee machine |Serve yourself breakfast - breads, muffins, juice boxes, fruit, yoghurt, cereal, coffee and tea. No fried foods. No table service. I’m ok with getting my own breakfast but not everyone is. ||Here’s the not so good:|Internet was down. Cell service was not great. We didn’t eat in the dining room because it was takeout and pay with cash only because internet was down. Not entirely the hotel’s fault. There were wildfires surrounding Inuvik and we were told that affected the connection. |A little noisy but that didn’t both me too much. Heavy doors and people forget they’re in corridors with guest rooms either side of them - don’t shout, people!||Here’s the bad:|Check in. The girl who checked me in was really not personable. I understand it was the end of the day and you might have had a difficult day. But I work in customer service and you need to be ‘on’. Being grumpy and not explaining things nicely or even at all isn’t effective customer service. Her colleague who checked us out the next morning had a totally different attitude!

We luckily found this hotel after running out of the horrible capital suites. It looks welcoming from the outside and everything inside is more amazing. Front Desk staff were helpful. Room was well appointed and had great space for us to eat in the room. |Fabulous free breakfast with lots of choices. |They even had a weight room (which we did not use). |Hands down, this is the place to stay in inuvik

Rooms are clean, but too warm. Staff is not able to fix anything. “Breakfast” is a joke, some cereals and toast with coffee(don’t eat the cream cheese, I’m pretty sure it is left out overnight. Seems very expensive for little to no services. Also, the elevator is broken and only energy exit stairs can be used. I wouldn’t complain so much about a hotel in the arctic, but they advertise as an amazing place and it is a big let down. Finally, they don’t clean your room each night and the restaurant is take out only. They need to hire more people… someone is pocketing a lot of money without putting anything back into staffing.

Yelp
The plushest hotel in town. Recommended by practically everyone. It's nice and quiet. Bed and pillow are comfortable. TV has many cable channels. Room has a nice view of the outside. There's also an exercise room. Staff were helpful with my needs. Will stay again next time.

Yelp
Other inn across town is newer and has better rooms. Ok to stay but not as good as other option.

Yelp
Terrible, do not go to this hotel. Terrible service and contentious logging in the wifi. Some of the staff are very rude and not for the paying customers. I suggest another inn or hotel if you're in Inuvik NWT. It's a good thing for them that they don't have much competition because anywheres else in Canada, they would not last.
