Lots of people have recommended that I try this place. I've been quite curious and finally found an opportunity to go. I got the everything bagel with lox and whatever else that came in it( I forgot the other things in it...oops). It was quite good. Mom got a sesame bagel with egg. Next time we need to come with time, to see all that they offer( there were many choices). We were in a rush and picked something quick. I most definitely enjoyed my choice. The atmosphere was chill and welcoming. The employees were efficient, quick and pleasant. I look forward in returning and trying something else. I ❤️ bagels and it's hard to find a decent place who offers them. It's hard to compete with a NY bagel shop. All the other bagels I've had in Macon don't compare to this place. Try it.

Never in your life have you had an Everything Bagel that is SOOOO GOOD! I usually get a sandwich…The Captain Planet (but with regular sausage and dairy cheese) or The Champ. The sandwiches are hearty and really filling. I do prefer the savory sandwiches myself. You can expect to pay about ~$10 per sandwich. The large pig in a blanket (the size of a hot dog) is a wonderful option as well. The coffee is superb too! Service is always friendly and short wait times. Fun aesthetic with a small breakfast nook corner complete with couches. Highly recommend. You’ll be hooked on the Everything Bagel for sure! Closed Monday and Tuesday. Opened from: 7am – 1pm on Wed/Thurs/Friday 9am – 1pm on Sat/Sun.

I love Macon Bagels! Ever since we went I’ve been telling all my friends that this is the spot to go. We tried so much on the menu, I don’t think anything will taste bad here. 5 stars!!

Very nice local spot. Had a wide variety of bagels and pastries. No decaf coffee, but otherwise all else was great. Friendly, helpful staff.

Fresh, delicious bagels. I'm very, very picky. I can't stand cross contamination of flavors on anything. I like things mostly plain, in this case, a salted bagel. These bagels were still warm and were so good that I could eat them plain, as is. No cutting, toasting, butter, nothing extra needed. They are THAT good. The chocolate chip cookie was a delightful surprise also. I had pretty low expectations as it's a bagel place, but it was also phenomenal.

Pricey, but worth every penny. Great, unique food options and friendly, helpful staff. Cute atmosphere with plenty of seating (wooden bench shared by multiple 2-top tables, several free-standing 2-top and 4-top tables, armless sturdy chairs.)

This place is a Macon gem. It’s a can’t miss for visitors and a local haunt for Maconites. We go almost every weekend when we are in town. The specials are creative and always delicious. The standard menu is a perfect blend of classics and inventive options. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. My favorite bagel is the “Champ.” It’s delicious.

Delicious bagel (The Champ) + Cinnamon Roll, Excellent Coffee (1000 faces from Athens!!!), great staff & atmosphere!! We will most definitely be back.

A cute bagel shop in downtown Macon! You walk in to a counter displaying the bagels available. There's over 10 to choose from! The staff was very friendly and helpful. I went with the cheddar bagel. It was dense and delicious. I requested for it to be toasted. I'd say it was slightly toasted & recommend if you want a little crunch then make a request. The cheddar bagel was good - I'd get it again! I also ordered a cinnamon roll. YUM! Not overly sweet - it had the perfect amount of icing. It was almost a little doughy, exactly how I like a cinnamon roll. They heated it for me as well. There's tables to dine-in or grab your bagel to-go.

This one jumped out to me as being a surprise. It's hard to find really high quality bagels anywhere, let alone central Georgia. But here, the line was consistent in an otherwise muted downtown area, and I left with little doubt as to why. Ordering a fresh bagel yielded a deliciously browned creation with a hint of sourness. The poppy seeds were thickly applied to the top and bottom, and the freshly toasted and sliced bagel made for a delicious breakfast, with a seltzer water as an on point accompaniment. They had a small selection of other baked goods, and I could have given them five stars for the cookie sandwich alone, centered around a majestic chocolate ganache and with a little strawberry note at the end. I got a half dozen bagels to go as well, knowing I wouldn't likely come back too often as it's not in my neighborhood. I'll be sad when they're gone.

Yum! I love breakfast and I really love a good bagel. As a first-timer, the cashier was welcoming and friendly and had good suggestions . I got The Champ added cheese! The everything bagel with avocado x cheese x bacon, caramelized onion spread was simply divine. The flavors are explosive. The customer service is superb, and the location is amazing, and it has ample seating.

Was apprehensive after seeing the downtown area. Fast, friendly. Steps on entry (not handicapped friendly.) Bagel dough was awesome. Proper. Everything bagel was missing poppy and caraway in my opinion. At $7 for 2 bagels, a bit steep.

This place serves up such tasty delights that often the line is literally out the door onto the sidewalk. The Fresh bagels & pastries are divine & the breakfast sandwiches are amazing!

The place for a fantastic breakfast while in Macon. We visited during Macon's Cherry Blossom festival ,and stopped here for breakfast. Despite showing up super early, the place was packed already. You can tell this is a popular place with the locals. The bagels are fresh, and they offer a variety of sandwich combos. We went with a more traditional offering, and it was great. The coffee was so-so. Perhaps the blend of the day was more dunkin D type, and I prefer a more robust type. Overall, very cute place, with fresh bagels, and friendly service.

I love this place. Just chatted with all the employees in there. Normally I ask who the owner is but they were so nice. We just kept chatting away so I wanna come back. there's a line out the door this morning. I'm sure it's like that every day. Simple menu, lots of awesome bagels sandwiches just waiting in the morning perfect you could sit in there hang out or you could take it to go and have a great day so I'm a big fan of this place already I can't wait to actually eat the thing but everything looks great and I'll be back.

Very good and fast service. There was a line out the door but we didn't wait longer than 15 minutes. Bagels were good! There were pre prepared options or you can. Build your own. I would definitely go back.

Staff was pleasant and courteous. Open air place (loud). Cinnamon roll was good not great (think Rhodes frozen cinnamon roll). Coffee was horrible.

The bagels are made in house so fresh and good. Fast friendly service, you order at the counter and seat yourself. Has a a cafe feel and lots of seating. No high chairs available.

We were in Macon on Sunday morning and were craving a bagel- Macon Bagels saved the day! It was very easy to find and had street parking available right in front (very parking on Sunday AM!). The shop itself is just the perfect size - all the table the tables were full when we got there but within a few minutes of ordering, one was available. You order at the front and they call your name when it's is ready. My wife had a egg & cheese (add bacon + garlic aioli) on everything and I had the out of towner on everything with a pig in a blanket. Both of the bagels sandwiches were amazing- we both thought that the bacon, egg and cheese was the winner between the two. The garlic aioli really made the sandwich. We also appreciated that the eggs were patties versus friend eggs (it made it easier to eat). We really enjoyed it and have already planned to return next weekend.

The best bagels in town. I love the bagel breakfast sandwiches. The restaurant has a cute and funky vibe, and the staff are super friendly.

Native New Yorker (Brooklyn) here, & found these bagels better than many in NYC! We got the garlic, salt & Everything bagels, garlic herb cream cheese. Yum! Service is delightful, ambiance is charming.

I'm a Macon native living in the mid-Atlantic. I have plenty of access to amazing bagels (NYC, Montréal, Philly, DC). However I would not have expected my hometown to have anything close to the quality that Macon Bagels is putting down. Their bagels are legit. Not a huge menu of options, but it's a quality vs. quantity thing. If you go, show up early: there will be a line when they open the door.

Cute in downtown, free street parking on Sunday. Easy access from I-16. Sesame seeds on both sides of my bagel, nice touch. Highly desirable but no wait today.

After reading all the reviews we decided to give it a try. Even though a distance for us to drive. Having lived in NY and eating many bagels in my life, I can truly say, these do not compare to NY bagels. They are somewhat dense and chewy as a bagel should be, but lacks flavor. Sincerely disappointed. Bagels should have their own flavor before adding toppings. Nice little shop, friendly people, just no flavor. Not for me.

These 5 star review are dead on! Was in Macon for a meeting and stopped by late morning. Ordered the Out of Towner (appropriately) and was more than pleased. Definitely come here for a delicious bagel!

Apparently, they're a successful business that have outrun their capabilities. 10 minutes standing in line outside, 5-7 minutes awaiting order, and then no place to sit. Bagels are more than just plain bagels, which is good. Hopefully, they will find a larger venue. Until then, I'm a no-show.

They seem to make everything in house so everything is always super good from bagels to pastries to bagel sandwiches to whatever their weekend special is. The staff is always awesome and it's also a great spot to hang out.

What a great addition to Macon's breakfast. My husband grew up with good bagels in Detroit and gave their salt bagel a thumbs up. We had the Egg & Cheese sandwich and the Champ. They were both tasty. Get there early ...there was a line out the door when we left.

I stopped by yesterday and loved the bagels! The closest thing to bagels from NYC I've tasted here in the South. The everything bagel bun was to die for and my favorite thing there. We tried the Wise Guy, the Champ add egg, and Kentucky Derby. Our favorites were definitely the Derby and Wise Guy. Such fresh ingredients and amazing flavor combos. Not to mention a really fun and well-decorated space filled with plants and cookbooks and even a sitting area. Will be back!!

Move over Panera, Dunkin', and Lenders in the freezer aisle, authentic bagels have arrived in Macon! Totally worth the 25 mile trip north and getting there 45 minutes before opening to be first in line! Prices may be a tad higher than bagel establishments elsewhere, but considering they are the *only* true NY style bagel shop in the area, they opened in a prime downtown location during a global pandemic, AND the bagels are definitely worth every penny, I'm willing to spend my own dough (pun completely intentional). Thank you thank you Lauren and Patrick for helping me pass on my childhood tradition of a Sunday bagel and a shmear to my own kids.

Everything here is no short of excellent. The food is always a win every time, the service is always top notch, and everyone is always very welcoming. There's no other spot I'd go to for a morning bagel.

Perfect place for a fresh bagel! Definitely a hot spot in the area. My favorite and go to is the classic breakfast bagel on an Asiago bagel. Loaded with cheese, regular cream cheese, fluffy egg, and a savory pork sausage patty. I also asked for a side of their homemade jams a a sweet taste for my bagel. The name has fresh strawberry pieces and not overly sweet. The perfect combination!

I was in town last week on a business trip. Being the connoisseur that I am, I did not expect these folks to produce what could easily be my favorite breakfast bagel sandwich of all time. TOP NOTCH. 5 Stars. They even had caprisuns in the fridge, which I happily grabbed after a sturdy night of whiskey. Incredible service, immaculate vibes, fantastic food. Highly recommend.

Macon Bagels is a new bagel shop that just opened on August 25th. They are located on the corner of Poplar St and 3rd St next to Dunlap Park. If you want some bagels, I highly recommend coming within the first 2 hours of opening. From what I have seen firsthand and on their social media, they sell out of their bagels within about 2 hours. After that, they will just have pastries, scones, muffins, and cookies and of course coffee and tea. We went during their soft opening a little before 10am. Because this was new, a lot of people were waiting in line. It took us an hour to make it through the line and place an order and another 10 minutes until our order came out. Lauren was warm and friendly. When we in line had made it to the door, she stepped outside and warned everyone they were down to the last few bagels and apologized. Luckily, we were one of the last few people in line to have a chance to order a bagel. There was only Sesame Seed Bagel left, which was fine as long as I got a bagel. On one bagel, we added Kimchi Shmear and on another, we added Benedictine Schmear for a total of $4.50 each (pre-tax). The Kimchi might sound weird, but rest assured the Schmear is still predominantly cream cheese. It's not like there are big chunks of cabbage or spring onions. I would say the kimchi flavor is light and not overpowering with a hint of spice. The Benedictine is made with cucumber and I do taste it. Sometimes the flavor disappears because it's quite subtle, but it will pop up again on the next bite. We also ordered a tub of Garlic Herb Schmear to go for $6. I have to say this one is my favorite out of the three I've had so far. I've been eating it with my breakfast almost every day since I bought it. Partially it's because I don't know how long until it goes bad, but mainly because it tastes that good. It has a savory taste and you can actually see bits of the herbs. The shop is sandwiched between the Union Furniture Company and The Dannenberg Lofts. In fact, there is a door that connects the Lofts inside the shop. The tenants are lucky to have quick access to bagels. The interior feels spacious. The ceiling is high and the tables are spread out with lots of room to move. There are several decorations with bagel themes All around the walls. Lastly, all the parking spots are metered in this area. Next time I'm in Macon (early in the morning), I will be sure to come back. I have yet to try their special Adobo Cheddar Bagel, made with smoky chipotle and cheddar cheese.

My rule of thumb: bagels aren't good unless they are from NYC. However, these are really good. We needed a good bagel place in Macon. I arrived at 1pm, and sadly they were out of all bagels but cinnamon raisin. So, if you're reading this and want a bagel...go early! I love cinnamon raisin bagels and this tops it. There's gobs of cinnamon sugar embedded in the bagels. A mouthful delight. I also got it with the honey pecan schmear and loved it. Give it a try. The iced coffee was slightly bit too acidic for my taste.

Macon Bagels is Macon's BEST breakfast spot! The bagels and pastries always hit, and the service is unmatched. They have a good selection of rotating flavors of new baked goods to try.

I love Macon bagels! The owners are so nice and the location is so cute right in the heart of downtown Macon! I recommend the out of towner bagel because it is the absolute PERFECT mix of flavors, I live in downtown and love bagels so you'd think I've tried a lot of their bagels but the out of towner is so good I can't stop getting it. They make home made cream cheese in a signature flavor (I can't remember the name but it's sweet and has nuts) it is the best I've ever had.

Is it possible to give more than 5 stars?? This is my favorite place in Macon. The owners are fun and energetic, the food is top notch, and the coffee is the best in town. They always have fresh new food to try (if you're lucky you may find some pie or other desserts). I have never had a bad bite of food from here and I eat here a few times a week lol. Fresh bagels, great atmosphere, local coffee, what else could you ask for? Go get you some bagels

Best bagel I've had in years! Really, the best anything-to-do-with-a-bagel I've had in years. The bagel sandwiches are incredible. This schmears are unique and delicious. And I just love being inside of the shop. Everything about it is cool. The owners are so kind. Macon Bagels is somewhere you have to go if you're in town -- prices are low and you'll want to buy multiples of whatever you order, trust me!

Perfect addition to Macon! I ordered the Out of Towner (lox, capers, pickled onion, cucumber, and lemon). The ingredients were fresh and absolutely delicious. The interior of the shop is welcoming with lots of seating. I highly recommend stopping by this new gem!
