I’ve given Macondo several chances, but the service keeps getting worse. I’ve often waited over 30 minutes for my order while others were served quickly, and staff repeatedly acted confused or dismissive when asked about it.
On October 29th, 2025, my experience was simply unacceptable. We went straight to the bar to order, but the waiter laughed at us, refused to take the order, and told us to sit down. Ten minutes later he came to the table, took the order, and disappeared. After 25 minutes nothing had arrived, even newer tables were getting served, and he was busy flirting behind the counter instead of working. When he finally returned, he mockingly told a colleague that we “wanted to order,” as if he hadn’t spoken to us before. The level of disrespect was astonishing. We left after half an hour of waiting, completely ignored by the staff.
Macondo has a nice atmosphere and strong potential, but this kind of attitude destroys its charm. I sincerely suggest that the owner pay closer attention to staff selection—motivated and respectful employees could easily turn this place into one of Berlin’s most welcoming bars.
