Very good food overall, super tasty empanadas. 4 stars only because the rice (or the beans) from my dish tasted a bit old (like grains that have been stored for a long time). I also recommend the fruit juices.

We truly enjoyed our time here. First of all, the cozy ambiance makes everything feel so inviting, and the sofas create a wonderfully homey atmosphere. The background music is just lovely, perfectly balanced—not too loud, just right. The selection of cocktails and drinks is fantastic. We indulged in beef and chicken nachos, along with empanadas filled with spinach and meat. Honestly, these were the most delicious empanadas and nachos we've ever tasted. We absolutely cannot wait to return here!

I came here with two friends specifically to try aguardiente and to experience some hospitality. but the experience was very disappointing. I asked the bartender (who told us he was from Bogotá) which kind they had, and after some back and forth he said “the best.” When I asked for three shots, he was unnecessarily hostile — slamming the glasses on the table and pouring uneven shots. Having spent months in Colombia, I was excited to share this drink and culture with my friends, but instead we were met with rudeness. Won’t be coming back.

I spend about two hours in this cosy cafe with chill vibe and cool decoration. I have no idea about the food, cause I had just one tea. But I guess it has become one of my favorites. And the staff were also nice and friendly.

Really nice cozy atmosphere for drinks with friends. We also ordered some yuca frita which were really well made, with a nice sauce. Some review said the service is slow which is true, but really the place is so busy it's understandable.

Cozy place, nice Latin music, our hot chocolate and the nachos were really good and the waiter who works there is an absolute gem! Super friendly and welcoming! We came after the kitchen had closed on a Saturday night and he still managed to make us nachos! Really appreciated!! Totally recommended this place!! 😊

This just became my favorite Colombian Restaurant/Bar/Café in Berlin! As a Colombian i loved it! The food was really good! We ordered some snacks to share, the Patacones Chips, the Yucas Fritas and their Empanadas, the perfect combination of fried Colombian snacks with some Beers! And its location is really nice as well, right in front of the park! Their staff was also super friendly, most (or all of them) from Latin America always friendly and smiling! Really really nice place! I have to go back for sure!

I’ve given Macondo several chances, but the service keeps getting worse. I’ve often waited over 30 minutes for my order while others were served quickly, and staff repeatedly acted confused or dismissive when asked about it. On October 29th, 2025, my experience was simply unacceptable. We went straight to the bar to order, but the waiter laughed at us, refused to take the order, and told us to sit down. Ten minutes later he came to the table, took the order, and disappeared. After 25 minutes nothing had arrived, even newer tables were getting served, and he was busy flirting behind the counter instead of working. When he finally returned, he mockingly told a colleague that we “wanted to order,” as if he hadn’t spoken to us before. The level of disrespect was astonishing. We left after half an hour of waiting, completely ignored by the staff. Macondo has a nice atmosphere and strong potential, but this kind of attitude destroys its charm. I sincerely suggest that the owner pay closer attention to staff selection—motivated and respectful employees could easily turn this place into one of Berlin’s most welcoming bars.

This place needs more reviews!! Everything was perfect. I had the Colombian breakfast for 9 euros and I was STUFFED. Great spot for breakfast highly recommend it

There food is good the service no so much so make sure you have data on your smart phone so you don't have to rely on there wifi, to see the menu you have to scan the QR code with your phone and there is not other opción I you go directly to there website the menu and prices are not updated, and the servers are really inpatient so they want you to order quick, service is done on the outside tables so be prepared to inhale the smoke from the other costumers. I give then 4 stars for there food for the service I can almost give them 2 stars

Cosy bar with a laid back vibe. Our Gin Tonics where brought quite fast but afterwards we where left to ourselves which was more than okay with us. The girlfriend and I had just turned in from an all out shopping spree and where just unwinding in this comfortable corner sofas in the back.

.. The setting is gorgeous .. the music is beautiful .. but the breakfast I was not impressed ..

Great place, cosy and nice atmosphere. relaxing music and nice view to Boxhagener platz.was here for brunch on Sunday and totally liked it. Buffet could have sweets too but anyway everything that was there was tasty and delicious. Nice place for regular coffee or brunch.

Not the most authentic place but still good for a quick Colombian empanadas.

Cozy place with nice chairs and sofas to sit in. Quite dark inside but that's the kind of places I love.

I love coming here. During the summer, you can sit outside in the afternoon and watch people going by on Gartnerstr. At night, it's a great place to sit comfortably and have a momment with a friend.

One of the easiest going spots in the neighborhood. Good coffee, draft beer and mixed drinks. Haven't tried the food yet. Very well designed, the place is split in two sections for smokers and those who don't. Service can be a little slow.

Macondo is everything turns around the word "cosy". Drinking a fresh peppermint-ginger tee with my favourite book, computer or with a good friend when outside is cold and rainy is really priceless, thanks Macondo!
