MacSantaFe Gourmet Mac & Cheese

Stopped in on a Monday afternoon and ordered a Sml Classic Mac, Green Chili Grilled Cheese, and Tomato Soup. Yummy and large portions. Our waiter was very friendly, attentive, and even gave us recommendations for local restaurants and attractions. Would recommend for a quick, casual bite to eat!

This is the best Mac n cheese place I have ever been to. The decor is amazing. The owner is so kind. !! And the food here is Gordon Ramsay level. Love this place so much! I recommend this place to anybody who visits Santa fe!!

The restaurant is in a really cute location. The food was amazing. The grilled cheese with tomato soups alone was one of the best grilled cheeses I've ever had. The macaroni is so cheap for the quality and quantity of food you get. Went with a classic four cheeses, but there are plenty of nice gourmet options as well. The owner is so kind and so fast. Worth the visit while you walk around Santa Fe shopping!

I really love the lobster sandwich. The right amount of toast, delicious gooey, stringy cheese, the perfect grilled cheese. The tomato bisque is the perfect side to compliment the sandwich.

The Mac was amazing! So many varieties to choose from. The Mojo with chorizo and the carbonara were both excellent. Cheesy and fresh. The small size was plenty. And the candied bacon with red chile was divine.

My wife and I went to MacSantaFe yesterday. We were told that we have to try the Lobster Mac and cheese. We weren't told anything about the grilled cheese until we got there. Honest opinion, The Lobster Mac was not that good at all. Now, the rest of the food and the service was absolutely amazing. I had the Club grilled cheese and she had the Buffalo chicken. Now, I am not a big fan of spice or Buffalo Chicken but i tried hers and I'm still not a fan. However, she said it was the best grilled cheese she has ever had and my Club was the best I have ever had. Definitely go for the grilled cheese and they won't disappoint.

We showed up with a gate closed and a sign that said will be back in 10 minutes. SO GLAD WE WAITED!! The server was amazing and very friendly. Food came out in 10 minutes and the server checked and chatted with us the whole time our food was cooking. Then we got our food and WOW! He even split our grilled cheese and soup in half since he knew we were sharing. We were able to finish the sandwich and soup. We only ate few bites of the mac and cheese, that was amazing! The portions are great and we had leftovers for later. Would come here again. So cheesy, so delicious, tomato bisque was muah!

Great place to relax after being on our feet all day. I got the traditional grilled cheese. My friend got the carbonara Maccaroni and tomato bisque soup. Recommend when you're in Santa Fe. The owner was fun to talk with.

To be honest, my friend wanted to eat here, but I wanted pho. Then it turned out the pho place was too busy, so I came back here - and I'm incredibly happy I did. This was one of my favorite meals in New Mexico. You sit at the counter, and the Owner is a one man show - he greets you, takes your order, then goes and prepares it in the kitchen. This was handy because he could answer my questions about dairy in the tomato soup (just a little). I ended up getting the tuna melt with tomato soup and it was wonderful. The soup was thick and tasty, and the sandwich was out of this world. Piled high with tuna, and lots of cheese, on thick, delicious, sourdough (?) bread. It was so filling, that I ended up eating the insides off the piece of bread. My friend had a combo mac and cheese, and wasn't blown away, but maybe she just put together the wrong combo. In addition to counter seating, there were also a few tables out front that the Owner seemed to monitor too. I would definitely return here if I were in the area.

I was in the mood for something other than Mexican food and Mac & Cheese sounded like just the ticket. When we arrived at Mac Santa Fe, we were the only patrons. We sat at the bar and the owner was the only one behind the counter. There were only a few tables inside the restaurant, but there were more just outside in the interior section of the mall area. A roomy diner-like bar was great. He greeted us, took our orders, prepared the food, and brought it out to us, all while smiling and greeting others who came by to look at the menu. I couldn't quite decide on what to get, so I ordered the small portion of two different types: Mushroom & Truffle and Shrimp Scampi. My bestie ordered the Tuna Melt with the tomato soup and she loved it. Mine was very good. I appreciate that the owner was kind enough to let me mix two different ones. While the Mac & Cheese was good, it didn't blow my socks off. A very solid choice for lunch.

(June 2025) After my wife and I arrived here from Albuquerque and checked into our hotel, it was lunchtime. As we walked by Mac Santa Fe, we said "sure, why not?" I got the Baconator grilled cheese with potato chips ($19) and my wife got the Ham & Cheese grilled cheese ($16) plus the tomato soup ($4). Both sandwiches were so good and filling. I definitely recommend this shop if you want a break from New Mexican food.

What I'm gathering from other reviewers is the man behind the counter was the owner - he was SUPER nice. I called about 25 mins before closing to pick up my order. I skimmed in just before closing time (I feel awful doing that but I'd actually driven a couple of hours to get down there and it sounded so good). I got a 3 mac sampler with the Santa Fe, carbonara, and 4 cheese. It was really good! Definitely recommend the Santa Fe, it was my and my husbands fav out of the 3 (all were good though!)

Food is tasty but basic comfort food. Takes awhile to get the food from order to receipt. Owner is very nice. Food had cool spots in it when served. Very filling - ordered the smaller size and couldn't eat more than 1/3. We did get light diarrhea the next day but I am not sure if this was the source or not. Protein included seemed a bit skimpy?

Yes, when you are in Santa Fe, New Mexico, you should eat Southwestern food, but we had been indulging for several weeks and needed a little break for lunch. Mac Santa Fe was the perfect spot. Located down a few steps in an indoor mall, there is a few seats in the eatery and up at a bar, and there are tables in the middle of the mall to enjoy your Mac and Cheese. Mac and Cheese seems pretty easy to make, but it takes the right chef to make it the right way. Mac needs to ooey gooey cheesy goodness and to many times there isn't enough cheese and it is dry lacking even the basic salt. But not at Mac Santa Fe. We ordered the one pound container to split and it was the perfect amount for two. We chose the Santa Fe Mac, it was pasta cooked to al dente, just the way we like it, topped with a crunchy bread topping, it had roasted green chile and Monterey and Cheddar cheese. It was spicy, but on overly so. The sauce was creamy and cheesy. Located in downtown Santa Fe, it is a great find when exploring the downtown shops.

I have two young daughters, so when I found Mac Santa Fe I knew I would score brownie points with them... It's a sit-down restaurant in an indoor mall with mostly mac and cheese dishes. On June 26, 2024, we ordered: + 2 sodas ($6) + Billy the Kid grilled cheese with tomato soup ($22) + Green Chile grilled cheese with tomato soup ($20) + Large lobster mac ($36)! So good... We had leftovers to take to our next destination. Our guy gave me a bottled water on the house. Both employees we interacted with were super friendly and quick to get our order out. I just wished our grilled cheeses weren't grilled so long. The slightly burned taste was there. This place is small, but humble. If you're new to Santa Fe, New Mexico, come here for the Zozobra artwork. The Four Corners flags on the ceiling. The quirky Breaking Bad picture and other oddities scattered throughout. The code-accessed restrooms were a short walk nearby in the same building. I parked in the lot across the street. It was $4 for 2 hours. Like most Santa Fe parking spots, they are on the small side.

Stopped in On a road trip celebrating my in-laws 50th anniversary. The owner was a hoot and went above and beyond. The atmosphere was just fun and playful. The Mac and cheese was to die for

Tasty treats! We had a mac- and- cheese-aholic visiting, so we took her here. She was IMPRESSED & we tried SEVERAL of their creative, custom dishes! They were generous serving sizes so the 4 of us got to sample everything. ;) They can do some without cheese, for those of us who have to watch such things, but the cheese is a STAR in the show, so I don't recommend it... although the guys running it would bend over BACKWARD to accommodate you, should you venture in.

It's Mac and cheese, plus a protein. Tasty and reasonable. Yum yum. Thanks for being available.

We were visiting Santa Fe from out of state and decided to give this place a try for dinner as we were looking for some cozy comfort food. Service was excellent. Super great. We both had grilled cheese (with green chilles) and the tomato soup, Sandwich was tasty, soup could have been like 15% warmer. Also it was bit cold inside as well, but not terrible. The food and the service still made for a worthwhile visit.

According to yelp they were open for business. Closed!!!! What a let down especially when it states that it was open.

The Mac and cheese was not creamy. It was like a pile of macaroni with only cheese melted in it. Sure there was plenty of cheese but stringy melted cheese is NOT Mac and cheese. It should be creamy and velvety. With maybe some broiled stringy cheese only on top. Try adding some cream boys. Go ahead. Try it. You will love it and you will save money by using less cheese and you will make a better product. The sandwich had some old ass chicken on it. It tasted old and it should have been tossed out way before going on my sandwich. But go ahead and convince yourself that is it ok. Try to keep saving money by using old food, and you will reap what you sow. i.e. no customers. The guy at the front talked too much as well. I don't need a conversation when I'm trying to enjoy a relaxing lunch that cost about $40. That's pretty expensive for a single dope like me for me to eat lunch. yikes. Good luck. Change.

Literally the best mac & cheese I've ever had. And the Santa Fe one with green chile is absolutely perfect. Very hardy portions at a great price. And the people working there are super chill and friendly. Highly recommend!

Five stars for creative but simple and reasonably priced super tasty comfort food. They have a good number of options. A pound of mac and cheese for under $12 is a fantastic deal. The staff were also super personable and really fun to chat with. Overall would recommend. Located inside the shopping plaza so easy to miss but worth looking for- they are on the first floor.

If you are cheese-aholic or macaholic than this is your spot! Nothing like abundance of pure comfort food in array of combinations when it comes to cheese types and flavors. I had the 4 cheese with side of chile. 2 lb of goodness and this gem of a place is in the heart of santa fe. If you are in town this is a MUST visit!

The dudes that worked here were probably the coolest people we encountered on our visit to NM...this mac n cheese smacked but that tomato bisque?!! made me regret my decision to order the mac n cheese in the first place! Thanks for the recommendations of the non-touristy places!

A little hard to find but you will be oh so glad that you did. This place is simple but devine and the gourmet Mac is oh so good. Imagine for a moment - mushroom and truffle oil macaroni and cheese. how about -Carbonara Mac and cheese? Gotta have that green chili? Try it in Mac and cheese! Getting the idea??? One important note. They only take credit cards.

Okay, so I thought the sandwiches were a bit pricey but my friend had eaten at another restaurant that specialized in grilled cheese snd she said they could be worth it. So we went there and she ordered a grilled cheese with jalapeños, sriracha, and chorizo. It was stuffed with chorizo and she was happy. I, on the other hand, ordered the macaroni and cheese which I thought had a great price point, It had chorizo and bacon and it was very cheesy plus had a great cracker-like topping. Bottom line was we were all full of cheesy goodness and happy! We were treated well by staff who were super friendly and the food did not take long to get. Win, win, win!

A bit hard to find because it is in a mall but it's worth it - cute ambiance, friendly staff, and the menu looks exciting but I really felt like the food was just fine. We liked the Santa Fe - the chile was fun (because we're from out of state - I don't think it was special) but the cheese and pasta were not anything noteworthy.

So nice, I did it twice! I had some time to kill downtown and ventured into this spot. The first night, I had grilled cheese with tomato soup and drunken riced pudding. Absolutely delicious! At the end of our trip, my husband and I went back and shared the HUMONGOUS "small" mac and cheese with shrimp. There was a bit of a mix-up when the meal came out. There was only one person working and it was hectic. But, he more than made up for it. We will 100% be back on our next trip to Santa Fe.

You are not prepared for this. Epic grilled cheese sandwich you won't soon forget. And friendly personal service too. Do yourself a favor and stop here!

This place is amazing! A simple , but soulful menu. Everything was excellent! We chatted with the cook and waitress as we waited for our food. I ordered the Santa Fe because of our green chile challenge. We want to eat green chiles every day of the week we are here. This was nearly a spiritual experience. So good! My partner ordered the Mushroom & Truffle that was equally great. Friendly service for amazing soul food. I wish we could take them with us! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Do yourself a favor and make this part of your Santa Fe experience. Tell them Kate & Murphy sent you!

We had the Classic and Carbonara - both were super delicious! The service was awesome. Highly recommended!

Ordered takeout from here on Friday. Called in my order and it took more time to walk over here from the train than it took for the order to be prepared (less than 10 minutes). It is back in part of the strip mall, unassuming, and has several tables in the middle of the mall. There is quite the variety on the menu for anyone who loves mac n'cheese. Originally, I thought about going with the sampler (3 smalls for $26), but I'm glad I settled on the small shrimp scampi mac ($9.75). The owner was friendly and greeted me when I arrived, as he whipped up a batch of mac n'cheese. It came in an aluminum tin, still hot from the oven. I saved it for when I got home. Even in the microwave, the cheese pull on it was incredible. The small made up about 2 medium-sized portions for me, and had over 20+ shrimp in the dish alone. The garlic smell was powerful coming from the box, but overall didn't have a super strong garlic flavor and possibly could've used something else to spice it up a little more, but the breadcrumbs added the perfect touch. 2023 #35

Something different! Was looking for a place to eat on Saturday night and found this place on yelp. Phil was great answered my questions about the menu and I ordered he served me this delicious tuna casserole. So good! Hit the spot as well as saving me a bunch of money if I had gone with another establishment! It is a walk up and order so it was what I needed at the time. I highly recommended it if you like Mac N Cheese type dishes. I did see sandwich, soup an desert options as well.

The Mac is good - particularly the lobster Mac. Good for take out or to sit at the counter for super casual eat.

We were so glad to find this yummy place in Santa Fe! We decided to try both a Mac and a sandwich. They were so good! The Mac had just the right amount of ingredients so it wasn't too cheesy. the truffle and mushroom! Amazing! The sandwich was tasty and had plenty of chicken and bacon. We dipped it in the soup, and it was delicious which is just as the counter guy recommended. I can't remember his name, but he was very friendly and also gave us some great shopping tips in Santa Fe. Highly recommend this terrific comfort food!!!

Ordered Mac sampler. Went with traditional, the mushroom and truffle oil, and the four cheese. There were also willing to make any option vegetarian. There are plenty of great options to select from. Each order is made to order. Ultimately, the short wait was well worth it. Nothing artificial about the cheeses or ingredients. We enjoyed all three dishes and wished we lived near here. Give this place a try if you're looking for great food from a counter service establishment.

Great service, best mac n cheese ever! I liked the Dreamcatcher with green chiles and my son enjoyed the classic. We would drive all the way from San Diego just to come here.

What a great place! Had to try this place during our visit. We have been to Theo's previous restaurant and knew it would be great! The service was great and the food was fantastic! We shared the tomato soup and garlic bread and I ordered the Greek Mac with Green Chillies and he got the Santa Fe Mac. Definitely, recommend this place. It is a must try!

Stopped here on a roadtrip because of all the great reviews. It didn't disappoint. Huge portions, great selection, extremely tasty. And the owner was a wonderful host!

This is my new favorite place. Theo the owner was so friendly. We chatted about various things. While we waited 10 minutes for our order, he brought out a sample of his rice pudding that was still warm from the stove. Phil was also very friendly and welcoming. The Carbonara Mac was delicious. I loved the perfectly toasted breadcrumbs on top. When you take a bite, the cheese is stretching from your dish to your mouth. A 2# large is only $11. Great bargain. It is served in a tin which helps keep it warm while you eat it or you can get a cover and it will stay warm until you get home.

The best Mac n cheese we have ever eaten! Filling and flavorful grilled cheese and savory tomato bisque. Perfect on a cool, rainy afternoon. We were so full we didn't need dinner. Friendly staff and great service to boot.

So while on vacation I never eat anything cold or sandwiches. It's 100% eat out. So of course while in NM it's usually all about the green chili. Well I came across an advertisement in the newspaper, yes I said newspaper that was provided by our Hotel while drinking some coffee while planning our day. It was in the back of my mind when we took off to the Plaza to pick up some souvenirs for friends back home. Luck would have it that as we were contemplating what to eat for lunch this place showed up on my map only 200 ft away. So I called to make sure of thier location and that they were handicap accessible as he said they were garden level of the shops in the Plaza. Which was a big plus. When arrived we noticed it was kind of small with only a couple of round tables and a bartop to sit at but the gentleman said no problem we could use both of the two tables for our party of 4 . He walked us thru the menu and made sure we had no questions. Very accommodating. My wife and I opted for Sandwiches and my Father and Stepmother went for the Mac and cheese. This was such a good choice for lunch. The sandwiches were the bomb. The bacon on my sandwich was cooked perfectly and were placed on some awesome Texas toast. The chili was not hot but gave it a nice accent. I'm not a huge macaroni salad fan but I did eat all of mine and probably would have eaten a little more if there would have been more. All I know is if you have the opportunity to try this place please do the staff all 2 of them are such nice ppl and they are truly there to satisfy thier guests. And after hearing them talk to a couple of guests that came in while we were there you are not thier customers you really are thier guests. I don't give out too many 5 stars but I would give this one 6 if I could!! In the end would I recommend? He'll yeah!! If you miss this place you missed out.

What a little jewel in the heart of Santa Fe's historic district. A no nonsense eat at the bar place. I had the Mac and Cheese Buffalo Chicken which was hot and soooo tasty! My companions had the Mac and Cheese Chicken Cordon Blue ...chicken, ham and Swiss cheese. I asked for a little bite and it was superb!! They also have soups and grilled cheese sandwiches which I'll bet are just wonderful as the rest of the menu....great place!!

This little place is soooo good! I had the buffalo chicken mac and cheese, which was perfect, along with the delicious tomato bisque, and a slice of candied bacon for dessert! The owner(manager?) was basically the nicest man on earth. He was so friendly and chatty, but not at all in an overbearing way (I'm an introvert, so people can get very draining very quickly sometimes). My whole group was completely charmed by him. He even gave my vegan friend a free iced tea! Highly recommended.

Phenomenal place. We wandered in to this fine establishment on Easter with three kids and one gluten free adult. Not many places were open, at least that didn't require a reservation. The proprietor (Theo I believe) was incredibly kind to us and sensed our plight. Next time we're back in Santa Fe, this will be our first stop. Thank you, Theo!

Stopped by and talked to the owner. Couldn't stop thinking about it so we came back and ordered three different kinds. oh man! How can m&c taste this good! we were blown away! highly suggest Dreamcatcher, Four cheese, and best of all Mushroom. Service and kindness were outstanding.

Loved the food, something new is always good. Staff is great. This is a must if you are looking for something new and great to enjoy with family and friends. If you ever get to be near by definitely go and enjoy yourself.

One of my new favorite stops in Santa Fe. The Hawaiian grilled cheese is a MUST! We got a medium club Mac and cheese along with a Hawaiian grilled cheese and shared. Had some leftover for later. Loved that they are selling hot cocoa during this snowy day. Comfort food at its best!

Got lucky finding MacSantaFe today! More stars than other choices--and for good reason! Delicious made to order grilled cheese and fixin's sandwiches. The drunk razin rice pudding was great too! Yumm!

We visited this place since there were good reviews on it. My son is quite the picky eater and this place had a Mac n cheese just for him. He got the Classic Mac and I got a Lobster grilled cheese with chips. Both were very good. The cashier told me later that the medium sized pan could feed 2. He was able to eat half and we took the rest back to the hotel. The cashier/server was so nice and helped us pack the leftovers in a box and gave us extra napkins. She also gave great recommendations to see around downtown. Very clean restaurant. Would visit again.

I went there with some friends before a show at the Lensic. It was somewhere new so we thought we'd try it. The Hawaiian Mac and Cheese was amazing! There was a great blend of cheeses, good sized chunks of pineapple, and plenty of ham. The toasted breadcrumbs really topped it off. The staff were super sweet and very responsive. I can't wait to go back!

I've come here a few times now and I have always been impressed. It doesn't look like much when you walk by but the Mac n cheese is AMAZING. Cheesy, fun, and affordable, this place is a Santa Fe must! I got the small carbonara Mac and shared it with a friend since I wasn't too hungry. The portion sizes are GREAT. You definitely won't leave hungry.
