Saw this while driving to another destination early morning and decided to stop by cause of the Obey Mural right outside of it. There’s almost no parking during the weekends, I believe there’s only street parking available. I took a look at the menu and the guy was really helpful with explaining the taste / sweetness levels I could expect from the drinks. I settled on the Dolly Latte as it had sweet in the name. The coffee flavor was strong and it wasn’t that good. There was a small hint of flavor but it wasn’t as sweet as I had expected. Hard to recommend this style of coffee

Google
Coffee Near Me for the win! Took a shortcut back to my chiropractic office after a visit to AAA and discovered this gem of a place. Cool atmosphere in a non congested area. I've only had the iced latte but it was delicious. I'll be returning for beans and trying other items on the menu.

Google
i got the dolly latte and the chocolate walnut cookie. the cookie is sweet but was really nice with the coffee. They only charge 50 cents extra for a different milk so i really liked that!

Google
I will go anywhere else for coffee I love to try third wave coffee shops and creative blends/ co-ferments Usually try a few shops in any city I am visiting Got two bags of co-ferment here (usually very much look forward to co-ferments) and two cups of take away coffee Didn’t enjoy any of them. No matter how much effort I put into dialing in their beans, I very much detested them as did my wife Won’t be coming back especially with so many options nearby that I look forward to

It all started with the peculiar design of the cup that got me hooked and triggered my curiosity to pay the coffee shop a visit. Yep, that skeleton on the green cup. The cute coffee shop was located right at the intersection between Inglewood and Culver Boulevard, two busy roads making it bit tricky to find parking. The place was cozy and pretty quiet other than the background music, as most guests were on their own gadgets. It was pretty busy throughout the day even on weekday, I guess with the location being strategic. The service was swift and the barista was super friendly. I tried their Dolly, which was basically latte with Demerara sugar. I would say their coffee was pretty strong and tad acidic, so probably would suit those loving that kind of notes for their cup of joe. I would say it's pretty decent, despite wouldn't call it my top list.

Google
Double Matcha comes iced. I was hoping for a hot drink on this cold day. I should have stopped and changed my order. I also chose this spot, superficially, because of the branding. In a shallow moment, I feel disappointed the skeleton isn’t on my cup. Order a hot drink AND a sticker on a cloudy day.

Google
Hubby and I discovered a new coffee spot! Yay! Being a coffee lover, I’m always excited to try new coffee spots. Mad Lab Coffee Roasters, is this cute corner coffee shop located in Culver City. I have to be honest, parking is not fun! So, be patient when you are looking for parking. The space is super chill and very minimalistic. They have your traditional coffee beverages, tea drinks, and seasonal drinks. They also have small bites and kid-friendly drinks. I went for one of their seasonal drinks called the Dolly. Since I’m an iced vanilla latte kind of girl, the nice gentleman said I would enjoy their Dolly drink as it is very similar. I also had to get this sugary croissant type of pastry. Everything was delicious! The service was A1 and hubby and I left with smiles on our faces. I'll be back!

Google
Iced matcha latte is probably in my top 3 matcha I've tasted and the chai is very good. Great service!

Yelp
HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I've been meaning to checkout Mad Lab for a while now and am SO GLAD I finally did today! Both the Cashier & our Barrista were highly friendly, professional, more than courteous, and went the extra mile in customer service. I had the Cherry Pie Latte (WORTH IT!!), and my friend had a Chai with Stevia. We each tried different croissants, and they did not disappoint. We were both very happy with our orders. I'm not a coffee drinker, but I might have to pickup the habit just so I can enjoy this experience again. Only things I would change is adding Cinnamon Rolls back to the menu (that's what caught my eye when I first found them) and stock more pastries since they seem to sell out fast.

Yelp
Cute little cafe on a corner in Culver City. I stopped by on my way to run errands. Seems like a great place to study, work, or catch up with friends. Service is friendly but can be a little slow when busy. Drinks are decent! Standard coffee menu with some food items and grab n go as well. Parking can be tricky because it's all street parking and confusing time restrictions

Yelp
Finally got the chance to visit Mad Lab Coffee Roasters and it did not disappoint! I got an iced Dreamsicle latte with oat milk and it was delicious! Orange + Espresso combo is The interior of this location is cute. Simple & small but has a few tables inside and outside. I saw a couple people doing work but there isn't a ton of space. The barista was very friendly & was playing some AMAZING music (my fav band, wilderado :))
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
They keep it fun and new with various coffee and latte creations. Lately I enjoy the espresso or cold brew drink without milk. I love the various espresso iced with soda drinks. Less calories and lots of caffeine kick! Today I had a Fig Figtion cold brew with fig drink. While not carbonated it was not too sweet and I "get" maybe taste, the "Old Fashioned " reference. The slice of orange on top made it look cool too! The only negative here is parking is difficult and while on weekends a lot of people hang out, but for me it's not a warm comfy place sit and drink or do work. But the drinks are great

Yelp
they have unique signature flavors that's worth trying! I tried everything. and they are all very helpful. if you are lucky, you can park on the street. but sometimes i walk a little.

Yelp
First visit - won't be the last Good energy and mellow, local's vibe Croissant is/was delish - YUM

Yelp
A cozy place to get some work done. They have a few tables for outside as well. The coffee is good and they always seem to have new concoctions. I tried the Abuelita Latte with oat milk, tasted like my childhood hehe the right amount of sweetness and creamiest latte you'd want. 10/10 They also carry a variety of pastries for about $7. All in all a great addition to Culver City coffee scene

Yelp
Love this little coffee spot in an industrial space ... that's very reminiscent of when I ran a clothing company out of 5000 square foot warehouse in downtown LA. A very local yocal spot. Lots of young families ... parents getting their daily fix. Talked to Kai or Khai ( not sure the spelling ) and he was able to direct me to a few businesses that have or may have what I was looking for .. Iced matcha latte was great .. will come back
google avatar

Yelp
Decent, slightly below average but quaint enough where I wouldn't mind coming back hence bumping this spot from a 3 to 4 stars. * both whole milk & Oatmilk was creamy and full in taste and texture * cappuccino was a bit too sour but was tolerable. They didn't offer brown sugar & cap was served in a no handle cup which was quite hot and unenjoyable. * the dolly latte - had an odd aftertaste. You could definitely tell the difference in unique sugar they used but unfortunately it wasn't a good unique sugar. Just overly sweet with a diff aftertaste. For staff recommended this one as one of their top sellers Ambiance: * only a few wooden tables. If you come in the afternoon, the sun through the high set windows hits your eye in a not nice way Service * very friendly staff I'd come back to try their other flavors because I did think this spot has potential but it didn't leave a great first impression

Yelp
Mad Lab Coffee Roasters is a new coffee shop in the area. It's located right across the street from St. Gerard Catholic Church in the Culver City/Del Rey area. I live about 2 minutes away from this location and always pass by hoping to one day to stop by and try it out and recently was one of those days where I was free and to make my way there. It's a small coffee shop with a limited menu. They make drips, espressos, and crafted coffee and tea drinks. I really didn't know what to get so I went with my usual iced dirty chai. It was mellow and creamy. The spice wasn't too strong and not too sweet. Personally I thought it was perfect. And you taste that bold espresso flavor in it- it was a perfect drink on a warm L.A. Fall morning. Since they just opened a couple months ago, the place looks bare but I believe over time it will be aesthetically pleasing. I do love the mural that is right outside the shop though. The service was very quick. It took the barista under 5 minutes to make my order. Very friendly and welcoming. I am looking forward to going back and trying their other coffee drinks.

Yelp
It's not often I come to a coffee shop for a $6 latte anymore, but Mad Lab was one exception. This location was very centrally situated with plenty of parking on the street, so accessibility wasn't a problem. The one barista working was really nice and made the latte in like 60 seconds. It was very impressive. Overall, the ambiance is really great for people studying or wanting to do some work. We sat outside because they had some chairs outside and the weather was superb. The latte was really delicious, but I expected nothing less from a boutique coffee shop like this place. I would certainly come back to do some work or study.

Yelp
Recently moved to this area so I've been checking out new cafes to see where I can get the best lattes. Normally a coffee over matcha person but this spot makes an amazing matcha latte! Get the iced matcha with their house-made "dolly" syrup - it's smooth, not grainy like cheap matcha is, and has the perfect hint of like a burnt vanilla sugar sweetness. Cafe vibes like a homey, your-friendly-neighborhood coffee shop. I often see people working or chatting with friends here so it's decently peaceful with a laidback energy. The workers here are also really nice and make drinks fast!

Yelp
Unfortunately this was a NO GO for me. Not sure if it was an off day or the under roasted the coffee beans or they went bad but the coffee was horrible, couldn't even finish it and wasted my money. I was very disappointed, I'm not sure what happened. And if you prefer matcha I wouldn't go for matcha as it's not ceremonial grade

Yelp
I'm not really mad for Mad Lab. I had higher expectations for this shop, given that I saw a location within the Topanga Social (a food hall with some of LA's best eateries). When I saw the Del Rey location had opened, I thought it would be worth the stop after work. There isn't too much parking besides street parking, but that of course is expected around all of LA. I was hesitant to go in because I didn't really see any employees at the counter through the door, but as I got closer, a gentleman stood up from one of their outside tables (who was taking a smoke break) and walked in and behind the counter. Not a huge deal, but I prefer to see all around attention at businesses. I ended up ordering just a simple iced matcha latte with whole milk. Gentleman was super friendly and even offered me a pastry since I came in an hour before close, and he said he wasn't gonna sell them. As for the matcha, the matcha looked to be prepared from a concentrate, as I watched matcha come out of a sauce bottle, which kinda seemed off putting to me. The color seemed promising though (the color of the drink is always the first indicator for me). When I drank the matcha, it tasted a bit gritty/powdery, which made me feel sad for going out of my way for this. It overall wasn't a terrible experience, but Mad Lab didn't live up to my expectations at all. Maybe next time I'll give their actual coffee a go.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing experience! The coffee, granola bars, & staff were equally amazing! I will look forward to coming back as this will be a go to spot for coffee when I am out and about. The ambiance was pleasant with a great musical playlist of classics! Kyle and the staff were phenomenal and made the experience more enjoyable! I look forward to returning!

Yelp
Me and my wife decided to study at Mad Lab, and the matchas we had were pretty good! We sat there for a bit, and the server was very friendly talking to all of the regulars. We stayed for a couple hours and really enjoyed the space to do work.
google avatar

Yelp
A solid coffee spot! I ordered their matcha latte with lavender sweetener and it was just the right amount of sweetness without taking away from the matcha. They also have a different locations in LA!

Yelp
The service was great and the cortados were delicious!! Would definitely come back if nearby.

Yelp
Opening day of Mad Lab in Culver City! After driving by it on the initial opening day but closed due to delays and holiday 4th of July weekend last week, it's finally open! Free coffee, pastries and bagels by Hot Water Bagels on opening day! Great way to bring in the community together. This time I tried their Giddy Up latte, with just the right amount of sweetness. It was tasty, and this is coming from a black coffee drinker. Sometimes you gotta treat yourself on the weekend with a delicious coffee latte ;) A delicious variety of fresh pastries from almond croissant to guava + cream cheese croissant, which I tried. The service was friendly, quick and very attentive. The atmosphere and ambiance is filled with coffee aromas, a few tables inside and outside surrounding the building. Merch available and other beverages other than coffee also available in the fridge. It's great to have another great option of a coffee roaster and to have Mad Lab in Culver City. Welcome to the neighborhood :)

Yelp
I visited for the first time today. I had a latte and banana bread rectangle. The latte was good. The muffin was a little underwhelming. It lacked a bit of richness. Perhaps it was vegan (not that there's anything wrong with that). The place is nice and in an area that is lacking in nearby coffee shops. Give em a visit and see for yourself. They have seating indoors and some tables and chairs out front. There's a nice mural on the apartment building that they are in.
google avatar

Scott M.

Yelp
Mad Lab is another nice coffee place in the neighborhood. Good selection of drinks and pastries as well as some locally made sandwiches and a grab and go selection. This location does not have a lot of seating and parking can be difficult at times. They have several locations here in the LA area with their flagship off Pico Blvd and Hauser. I give them 4 stars as the baristas are attentive, fast and friendly but parking and seating are factors for me.

Yelp
I have driven passed this cute little coffeeshop many times but never made the effort to stop by. After a long run this morning in Playa Del Rey, I was dying for a coffee but I wanted to try some place new. I wasn't interested in anything too sugary and sweet like I normally desire (after the run, it was not going to be worth it for me) but I was rather in the mood for a simple flat white. The vibe of this place was super low key. There were a few people working on their computers. There wasn't a line when I got there --although by the time I left a few more people had arrived-- and I was able to walk right up to the counter to order. The guy that greeted me was very friendly and kind. I ordered an iced flat white with the addition of little honey. As a coffee nerd, I have to say the espresso in this blew me away. The roast was juicy, fruity and bright. Just so so good! I was thinking they really are Mad Labbing their roast, I see. Overall, I was very happy I stopped by and will absolutely be back!
google avatar

Rhiannon K.

Yelp
I've been waiting for this place to open as I would always drive past it while it was still under construction. A couple of times I stopped by but they weren't finished building yet. Well, I was finally able to visit recently! I'm not sure if they have a designated parking area but there is street parking if you can find a spot. It was a bit warm inside as it was a hot day. I'm not sure if their AC was up and running yet when I had my visit. It's a small location but they have a good amount of seating inside. The barista was friendly and quick. I ordered an iced latte, a regular coffee, and a pastry. She accidentally made me a hot latte but I'm not one to complain so I just took it. Both drinks and the almond croissant I got were very good and I will be returning.
google avatar

Shirin B.

Yelp
Love the staff at Mad Lab! They're so kind here, I came in to get my Giddy latte (pistachio and almond) and it was made in a matter of seconds and it was really good! Not too sweet and made just to my liking. They also have a ton of unique pastries here like a cream cheese and guava croissant or an everything croissant! One thing to note is that parking is kinda tricky since it's parallel and spots are filled up by residents but if it's not too busy, it's worth a try!
google avatar

Kaitlyn P.

Yelp
Mad Lab Coffee Roasters is a new-ish establishment that I feel lucky to have found! I can't comment on the parking situation as I walked there but it does seem like it might be a little tough. There's some seating both indoors and outdoors and the ambiance is cozy and trendy. Their menu is small but I think it's because they definitely focus on quality over quantity. My Apple Chai Latte was delicious and not overpowering and my partner's iced Americano was great too. The barista was so nice and accommodating to top it all off!
google avatar

Christian Michael Peter P.

Yelp
Bomb seasonal coffee (w/OJ and sparkly stuff), carrot donut, over night oats, sparkling water! Good vibes with the baristas here and cool idea with two journals for customers to draw and "scribble" on ;)
google avatar

Elon A.

Yelp
Only a few coffee shops in this area and this is number 1. The baristas are professional, and the place is always clean. My 2 go to drinks are Cappuccino on mornings and Mocha after lunch. Do it don't think about it!
google avatar

Jenni S.

Yelp
We swung by Mad Lab and enjoyed some coffee. We found street parking right out front. The location is small with only a few small tables. We ordered and got our drinks very quickly. I got an iced Mocha and my husband got a Cortado. Both were very tasty. I only wish there was more space to hang out but otherwise highly recommend.
google avatar

Maria V.

Yelp
Great addition to the neighborhood! Came to the sneak preview event and they offered free drinks, pastries, and bagels. I believe the coffee I ordered was called the Dolly which is just a latte with sugar and milk. Delicious flavor and not watered down or overly sweet. Its normally $7. Menu looked like they only offer one size, hope they add large size when they officially open. Love that its a corner suite and they have a handful of tables outdoor and indoor. Super friendly staff too! The Hot Water Bagel guys were so nice and their bagels were tasty.

Sam S.

Yelp
Super happy they opened one in my neighborhood! We already have a plethora of coffee places but mad lab has always had a place in my heart for strong and warm early morning coffee. I always grab their mocha and they have a really good balance between sweet and bitter.
google avatar

Anthony A.

Yelp
The design of the shop was fun and the name was clever. However for the price of the beverage, it was just okay.
google avatar

Em Y.

Yelp
Great coffee, great people. Was super excited for the grand opening of this location in the neighborhood! +Staff is so nice and overall a great add to the community. +There's plenty of street parking because it's near a residential area. +Indoor and outdoor seating provided. Around 3 tables inside. Most importantly - charging ports at each table AND USB-C ones too??? It's my first time seeing a USB-C port at a cafe!
google avatar

Chelsea B.

Yelp
Great coffee.... Mediocre sandwiches that are overpriced at $15. This place is work from home friendly and has outlets at each table which is great. I had a delicious and reasonably priced cappuccino. The barista was nice and the ambience is industrial and pleasant. The music is relaxed so you can focus while you work. ***Should also note that my stomach felt a little off after eating the sandwich but this is likely because I haven't had meat in two weeks. I believe it was called a Mary Lou. HOWEVER if you love coffee which rich and bold flavors, I would highly recommend this place.

Rey M.

Yelp
I ordered a cold and hot latte to try and both coffees taste burnt. Love the logo and atmosphere.
google avatar

Aran G.

Yelp
I'm just rating off of the roasted beans for 5 stars. We had a drip and another specialty espresso that were okay but wouldn't say over 4 stars.
google avatar

Gabrielle G.

Yelp
Service was great; came to the new Culver City location and it has a nice ambiance. The guy who took my order was very kind! The green tea latte is delicious! Very fermented green tea Taste - I do have to say it doesn't seem to have sugar but with the oatmilk I requested it tastes delicious. Haven't tried the matcha parfait but it looks yummy!
google avatar

Scott F.

Yelp
Service was fast and friendly. Some Coffee choices were unusual - a calling card of the Lab. While the particular corner of the locale is busy traffic, it still provided a convenient outdoor setting. All in all if U are near here go.

Farah M.

Yelp
Super cute little cafe that's walkable! The chai latte was so good and they have some nice snack options. Barista was very nice and fun to talk to!
google avatar

Morgan H.

Yelp
MadLab offers unique drinks for each season and I love trying them all! My favorite overall is the lavender matcha latte. The vibes are chill. It's a cozy spot that you can go sit and have breakfast and work for a bit. They have 2-3 tables inside and some small ones outside. They also offer some pastries and overnight oats if you get hungry.

Lauryn C.

Yelp
I ordered an iced Matcha latte with oat milk. The barista was friendly, but the drink was extremely bitter and grassy tasting. So if you were to order it, I would suggest to add some kind of sweetener.

Maurissa H.

Yelp
Coffee is realllyyy good here, but as a head's up they do not have decaf lattes (I am currently pregnant so this matters to me in the current season).
google avatar

Ken W.

Yelp
I was happy to see this coffee shop come to the neighborhood, but it turns out they don't believe in decaf coffee which is my strong preference. Barista says that decaf is made with paint thinners per the owner. I suggested they look into the Swiss Water method of making decaf. Unless they are able to offer decaf (without paint thinners), I won't be coming back.
google avatar

Jessica Marie C.

Yelp
So excited this new gem is in the area! I tried their creamsicle special. So good! The orange is not overpowering and pairs so nicely with the vanilla and espresso. I will be going back for sure!
google avatar

Philip M.

Yelp
Fantastic espresso & cappuccino. Great people running the place. LOVE it - EXCEPT my friend pointed out how loud the refrigerator display with cold drinks was. Once you hear it, you can't NOT hear it. Imagine finding a beautiful spot by a pristine lake only to have a tractor trailer park behind and idling all day. Lose the refrigerator and I found a spot of heaven in Culver City.

Christine G.

Yelp
No decaf coffee options. Should be more accommodating to others, like pregnant women who cant have too much caffeine but want to join their non-pregnant friends.

Victoria S.

Yelp
My husband and I just got a coffee and a tea from Mad Lab Coffee and both are a 10/10. What's even better was the customer service. The owner, Wolf, was working with the kindest Barista named Jules. They went above and beyond to talk about us and have a one of a kind experience. Can't wait to go back!

Sophie C.

Yelp
This is my first time trying Mad Lab Coffee. I live in the area and was eager to try a new local spot. When I walked in the person who took my order seemed irritated. I don't care if you're super friendly or eager, but I work in the service industry and I think it's necessary to greet a customer at the very least. I ordered two iced coffees and a cortado. My iced coffee had a strange, bitter taste, almost moldy. My friends cortado was very burnt and he could not drink it. I do not normally leave negative reviews, today the day, as the service and coffees were quite bad. I really wanted to like this place as it is so close to me and many of my friends, but I will be warning them not to come.
