I never leave reviews but I just had to say something to warn others about this hostel. The staff members are generally unprofessional. The cleaner, although nice, he is in his 40s with tattoos and piercings, he works shirtless with music blasting at full volume. I genuinely thought that he was a drunken homeless guy that accidentally stumbled into the hostel. I’m a 21 F, so this made me feel really unsafe for my well being and also for my belongings as well. The BIGGEST thing is the noise problem. I honestly don’t know how there are no reviews discussing this but holy moly. It says on the site that it’s “not a party hostel” it might as well be a club because the hostel shares a building with a club. There is even a door leading directly into the club from the second floor of the hostel (which is locked). From midday to past midnight, just non stop singing and bass boosting. I constantly had to have AirPods AND Sony noise cancelling headphones but i can still feel the bass. I know its a budget option and the location is good, but this isn’t even an accommodation, liksom you can’t sleep because of the noise, you can shower but the water won’t drain, and the toilets flush maybe 50% of the time. I’ve also seen cockroaches here. I’ve stayed at many hostels, and this is BY FARRR the absolute worst hostel.

It’s been a few days since I’ve checked and out. The manager Kristy has called me back about my complaint. She told me that Australia has very strict discrimination laws, so I should take down my review or delete the part about the janitor, and hinted that the janitor would take legal action against me. The Australian laws protects against racial, gender, disability, etc. discrimination but not personal attributes. And instead of offering me a sincere apology, she guilt tripped me for having made this man “really upset and distraught.” The threatening tone was not subtle Kristy.
