Mad Monkey Phnom Penh

I had such a wonderful experience staying at Mad Monkey Hostel in Phnom Penh! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcomed and taken care of. The hospitality was truly exceptional, everyone was friendly, approachable, and went out of their way to help with anything we needed. Special thanks to Kim, Kelly, and a few other amazing team members whose names I didn’t get , they were especially kind and attentive to me and my sister throughout our stay. The rooms were comfortable and constantly cleaned, which made us feel at ease. We also loved the food and drinks at the hostel’s restaurant bar everything was delicious and reasonably priced. The whole atmosphere at Mad Monkey was fun and relaxing. I’ll definitely choose to stay here again the next time I visit Phnom Penh. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great hostel experience!

Great Hostel. The daily activities and themed nights really brings the guests together and creates many friendships. Jo helped us to book our activities and buses, Jo is such a lovely member of staff and made us feel welcome.

Great stay at Mad Monkey. We stayed in a private room and it had plenty of space and was clean. Bathroom was also clean but a few minor cleanliness errors such as toothpaste stains on the shelving. The staff are very helpful and the reps work well to get you involved. They can also organise tours etc which is great. Location is very good. We enjoyed our stay here and are now heading to stay at Mad Monkey in Siem Reap.

Mad Monkey Phnom Penh is the perfect spot for backpackers and social travelers. The hostel has a lively atmosphere, with a fun rooftop bar and pool that make it easy to meet people from around the world. Rooms and dorms are clean and comfortable, and the staff is super friendly, always making sure you feel welcome. Great location close to the city’s attractions and nightlife. If you’re looking for a mix of fun, comfort, and community, this is the place to be!

I stayed here for a total of 7 nights, the vibe was great and the daily events were really fun and well planned. Mad props to Lin for being so welcoming and creating such a good atmosphere!

THEY STEAL AT THIS HOSTEL! And read below, I’m not the only one I’ve been traveling for two years, so I do have experience with hostels. Honestly, I chose this hostel because it seemed to have a good working area, but the internet was really poor and not useful at all for that. The staff didn’t seem genuinely friendly or helpful when I needed assistance or had questions. The restaurant is expensive compared to other hostels, and the rooms aren’t very clean. When I arrived, there was a bag of trash in my locker. They only give you a very thin sheet and it gets cold in the room. To make things worse, I had my cameras stored in my locker and one of them, along with two lenses, was stolen. I have no idea who it was, and I don’t want to accuse anyone without proof, but I absolutely don’t trust the staff. This is the first time something like this has happened to me in a hostel. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT

Decent hostel. Great and lively atmosphere although keep in mind it is very loud. I really liked it. Absolutely agree with other review, this is a party hostel, but I still managed to get sleep (with earplugs) on the nights I wanted a good rest.

Had a great stay. Was only here for 2 nights but thoroughly enjoyed my time. The pub crawl was great and the killing field tour that is provided is very informative. Special thanks to Jo for being a great tour guide and also helping us out throughout our stay. Would 100% recommend staying here
