Mad Monkey Village

absolutely loved this hostel! Everyone is super friendly, and it really feels like home from the moment you arrive. Everything is very clean and spacious, so you’ve got plenty of room to relax or have fun. The pool is amazing perfect for cooling off or meeting new people. I also loved the activities, especially the BBQ night such a great way to connect with others and enjoy the vibe. Overall, a super fun, welcoming, and comfortable place to stay! I absolutely recommend staying here 🥰

Great hostel, probably the best one with the best prices. Very organised, clean, friendly staff, a great pool area. Super nice kitchen, and the have many activities for people to meet and hangout . The only thing was that the room didn’t have any shelf or locker or anything, so I had to put my stuff on the floor. Also the only light in the bedroom is in the ceiling, it would be better to have small lights near the beds at least. But overall still a great hostel, I’d definitely recommend!

We had an amazing stay here! It was super easy to meet new people, and the free social events made every night fun. The on-site tour desk was a huge plus — booking adventures couldn’t have been easier. The pool area is perfect for relaxing on a hot day, and the city centre is just a short walk away. The open kitchen was clean and well-equipped — ideal for cooking together and hosting pasta nights with new friends. Overall, a friendly, social, and perfectly located place to stay!

Mad Monkey Village is such a fun hostel! The staff is super friendly and make you feel at home right away. The vibe is social without being too crazy – perfect for meeting other travelers or just chilling by the pool. Rooms are super clean, the air conditioning is a lifesaver as it’s in the tropics!!! And the common areas are great for hanging out. Loved the events, like Yoga and BBQ nights, it’s really easy to make friends here. Great location too, close to everything in Cairns. Honestly, one of the best hostel experiences I’ve had. highly recommend!

I absolutely loved staying here. I got a private room which was much nicer than I expected. I miss the mattress and pillows, in fact! The staff were some of the nicest and most genuine I've ever encountered, and I loved the activities. Went to the Thursday night BBQ and made some friends. Would definitely recommend.

The hostel is not too far from all the good places in the city but also not too near for it to be loud at night. The staff are all super friendly and always there to help. Big bonus is the pool! There are also lots of activities in this and the other Mad Monkey hostels near that youcan just join for free, such as movie nights or barbecues, which is great to get to know new people.
