Wonderful place for a nutritious fresh meal! Had the vegan Mad Ceasar salad today, it never disappoints! Happy that the space is also bright and filled with plants 🌿

Sandrine N

Google
Bright, clean spot with a health-forward menu—but the flavors didn’t quite deliver. My takeout salad was decent with a few tweaks at home, though the sandwiches felt dry and the smoothie wasn’t enjoyable. Love the idea of nutritious options, but taste matters too, and this one just didn’t hit the mark for me.

Google
OK atmosphere, but a very bland salade even with extra toppings.... 3 toppings and pay extra for more... what kind of salad only has 3 toppings? Poulet Rouge has bigger salad, with protein and almost too much toppings for a much better price and soo much flavour. And maybe the staff should smile a little?

Amr Aref

Google
Good and healthy options, portions can increase.. perhaps offer 2 sizes? I tried the peri peri bowl today... The brown rice and chicken were a bit dry for my taste... I'll give it another try and update my review accordingly..

Google
Overall : tasty soup but served lukewarm and WILDLY overpriced. AMBIANCE : Cafeteria vibe with nice lighting and plants. FOOD I cannot express my shock when the cash read 12$ : a vegan (coconut) soup of this size, from a fast food establishment. It was tasty, but there were few vegetables and it was not hot. The quantity is equivalent to a laddle’s worth. The photo was taken after I had two sips.

Google
Got a mad Caesar salad for lunch with lemon & herb chicken. The salad toppings were well thought out and well executed, and the service was quick despite a fairly long time, they were very efficient. A great spot to grab a quick healthy lunch.

Google
Mad Radish has variety of delicious and hearty bowls, burritos, soups and sandwiches! I love their food and their seating area is always clean, comfortable and has big windows. Van helped me and was great :) Will be coming back!

Julie Monast-Nadeau

Google
Beautiful location, spacious, clean and modern. The food is fresh and the menu very diverse and unique. I've tried the "breakfast for supper" salad and the "creamy Caesar" salad: both delicious and unique. But the one thing you have to try is their focaccia bread. Divine. Prices are a little on the higher end compared to other similar places. But I found service was so friendly, portions very generous and the food simply delicious that I'll be back.

Yelp
Basically like panera but downtown. Better stuff too. Sometimes in this City there's no where you can get a solid soup/sandwich combination past 8pm. But mad radish can help you with that

Yelp
Last week I tried their new Piri Piri Bowl with Piri Piri Tofu and it was reallyyy good!! Service was really speedy too!

Yelp
This place is a great healthy option for lunch but it gets extremely busy. I walked by for lunch and it was packed so I came back a half hour later. There were still a lot of people there but the line wasn't bad so I got my meal to go. The Fajita Barbacoa was tasty and there were other options of the menu that looked good as well. I'd come back if I was in the area and needed a healthier meal option.

Yelp
I had lunch at Mad Radish recently and the food was good, but I have to agree with Mary P. that the washrooms were filthy. There was urine all over the seat and on the floor. I had to use like half a roll of toilet paper to wipe up the pee on the seat and then make a toilet paper nest on the seat so I could sit down without feeling gross. And it's a huge disconnect too, because the place is brand spanking new and you would think everything would be clean. I went to the washroom at the end of my visit, after finishing my meal. Had I gone before ordering, I would have turned around and walked out. This place's saving grace is that the food was great. I had the "Dill with It" salad ($12) which had mixed greens, new potatoes, green beans, asparagus, tomatoes, sunflower seeds and a soft boiled egg. It's supposed to come with flax seeds, but I substituted that for puffed quinoa. I just realized on the menu it says it contains broccoli, but mine didn't have any for some reason. It was all tossed in a lemon and dill yogurt dressing. The salad was tasty and really filling. I had a Strawberry Lemonade ($2.75) as well. It was nice and refreshing. It wasn't too sour, nor too sweet. I saw actual strawberry seeds in it, so I'm glad that they use real strawberries and not artificial syrup. This restaurant is cashless. They only take credit cards and debit. Staff were nice. I love that their cutlery, bowls and cups are all compostable. I would have given this place 4 stars had it not been for the washroom situation. I thought maybe it was a one-off and they had a customer with really poor aim who apparently didn't even have time to lift up the seat (the washrooms are gender neutral. There is no way that someone who was actually sitting on the toilet could have made that kind of mess), but then I read Mary P.'s review and it looks like dirty washrooms is an on-going problem :(

Yelp
Well done Yelp for the recommendation. One of us has severe restrictions, the other not so. The ginger chicken salad was fresh, crunchy and tasty. Actually the word "amazing" was used. I had the cauliflower butter curry. Tasty and filling. Stuff here might seem a little above the basic price but your soul will thank you for making all the right culinary, ecological and spiritual choices.

Yelp
Awesome salad place in downtown Ottawa! 3 locations in Ottawa and one in Toronto. You can have them make a custom salad in front of you or order a salad or warm meal from their menu. Prices are from 11,95$ to about 15$. They also have bread and sweets. The girl that served me was very kind. They might open locations in Montreal, Quebec!
google avatar

Drew K.

Yelp
Salads done right. I had the chicken heater (?) bowl and it was good! Not $15 good but good. Certainly stingy with the chicken. Could have used a few more solid strips in there. Friendly and fast service (I went at 2pm and it was dead quiet). Nice clean restaurant. I'm not rushing back but happy to have tried it.
google avatar

Yelp
This restaurant is conveniently located near Parliament Hill and very much reminds me of Freshii. With food, they have multiple bowls or salads that you can choose from. As well as a selection of soup! I got their child bowl which was delicious and my friend got their chicken salad bowl which looked great too! I'd highly recommend getting the soup. The bread though I'd recommend skipping because it was quite dry and hard.

Yelp
Great vegetarian and vegan dishes in downtown Ottawa! Moroccan stew and falafel salad were both delicious. They even have their own app for quick ordering.

Yelp
For my last meal here, I decided to check out this popular bowl / salad spot in downtown Ottawa. I was excited to check out another salad / bowl place as I love food that is both delicious and healthy! Atmosphere: 4/5 Simple, bright, modern and a busy spot during the lunch hour! Luckily, there were still a number of seats so it was easy to have a quick and comfortable meal. It was nice to see how busy this place was, but the line also moved relatively quickly. I like that their bowls and cutlery are all compostable. Food: 4/5 I had the smoked salmon bowl which was good - good portion size and delicious; fresh and customizable with good variety of ingredients Service: 3.5/5 Busy but efficient; line moved quickly; pre-ordering also available Price: 2.5/5 Slightly overpriced in my opinion for the amt and type of ingredients but the food was good Overall: 3.5/5 It was nice to check out another convenient salad / bowl place here in Ottawa - good, creative and delicious combinations, which are also healthy...however the bowls are a bit overpriced in my opinion. Nevetheless, I would love to try some of their other bowls for lunch

Yelp
Food - 4.5/5 Service - 3/5 Atmosphere - 3/5 Overall - 10.5 / 15 Having gone to Mad Radish a few more times as a sense check, I am re-iterating my previous rating of 3/5 stars for the following reasons. While the food here is good, the cost of the salads relative to nearby competitors is definitely on the higher end. While they do use good ingredients and the flavors are there, I find that I'm not health-conscious enough to shell out ~$20 per salad. I do find their ice cream to be quite good however. My typical go-to's for this place would be the warm chicken bowl or the red curry soba. They definitely got it right when it comes to that. Their other offerings like the mini-salads and pies are a bit too small to be really considered meals. They're more like snacks which makes their price points a bit hard to swallow; ironic given their size.
google avatar

Amy Yu T.

Yelp
I would choose this option of healthy food over freshii anyday. Their menu is more innovative and the food just tastes better, while being just as healthy. Although I must say that the price is just as exasperating as freshii. The curry cauliflower didn't tasted like much when I tried it: it was quite bland. I always get the hot bowl chicken. This is a good option for lunch.
google avatar

Kanika A.

Yelp
Bult my own salad- Added spicy chicken which is not exactly spicy but overall the salad tastes really good. Its absolutely fresh and they had a variety of options to choose from. Definitely recommend trying out when in Downtown.
google avatar

Camille S.

Yelp
We ordered mad radish through Uber eats for lunch. My coworkers and I ordered a variety of bowls. I got the butter curry cauliflower bowl and it was delicious. The curry was amazing. Other bowls that we tried were red curry soba, the greek salad, ceasar, hot chicken salads. We are all fans of the dressings. However, we ordered the greek salad with the addition of the falalel on the side. When we received the salad it was missing the chicken that was included in the salad. All in all good experience and would recommend others to try!
google avatar

Yelp
The "protein bowl" and salad focus has become increasingly popular, and The Mad Radish takes this to the next level with ethically-sourced animal proteins and several Vegan options. They also serve coconut-based soft serve ice cream, which is a great option if you're interested in Vegan or dairy-free options. We ordered the custom salad bowl, the fired up chicken bowl, rosemary bread, and soft serve ice cream. Everything was pretty tasty, but things get pricey if you want to add multiple protein sources. Portion sizes are decent here, so you shouldn't leave feeling hungry still. The chicken has a "stewed" quality; it's not your typical grilled/sliced serving. The bread was tasty, albeit a bit oily (it soaked through the take-out bag). I was pretty impressed with the soft serve; it did not melt quickly like so many do, especially on a muggy August day. That said, you can definitely taste the coconut, so if you're not a fan of coconut flavour, I don't recommend it. The only drawback we experienced here was order accuracy. I asked and then confirmed that the Fired of Chicken bowl contained NO quinoa, only to see the final product graced with an extra-large spoonful of the stuff...so the server had to re-make the bowl. Definitely something to watch for if you're taking it to go. They CAN provide gluten free options--just make sure you mention it before ordering.

Yelp
Great salads -- the smoky caesar is unreal. Generous portion too, so the cost doesn't feel too crazy. I can't say I love any of their 3 standard beverages: way under-sweetened. I get that they are right and I am wrong and I'll thank them when I don't get diabetes at age 40.. but that's no good to me in the here and now. Recommend setting out a squeeze bottle of agave nectar as an option - if my experience is representative, I think they'll sell more drinks that way in the long-run.

Yelp
Second visit to Mad Radish, and as with my first time, the food and decor did not disappoint. However, my mediocre rating is due to the fact that the washrooms are really dirty. I don't think they have been cleaned since my last visit two weeks ago: dirty floors, grunge on the air vent covers, hairs in the sink (seriously, like someone had trimmed their beard there ... disgusting). Last time, there was no toilet paper. Last night's service bordered on excessive. It is fine for staff to inquire once if everything is to your taste, but my guest and I were inundated with no fewer than six interruptions that were quite uncalled for. The restaurant was not busy or I would have concluded they wanted us to free up the table. If it would not have appeared rude, it did occur to me to suggest if they had nothing better to do they could go and clean the restroom and leave us to dine in peace.

Yelp
This was my first time at mad radish, and though I had high hopes I was pretty let down with my meal. I order the ginger chicken salad which I was hoping would be tangy, flavourful and full of crunch. Unfortunately it was not any of that. It just tasted like lettuce and carrots tossed around with 2 or 3 pieces of chicken. For a 15$ salad I was expecting much more!! My suggestions: add more zest, more ginger and don't be cheap with the chicken!!! I would also use whole or halved cashes instead of small cashew pieces because you don't really get the taste or crunch with all the mixed salad in there. I would think about adding crispy noodles to this one, similar to the tortilla that the Mexican chicken option has.
google avatar

Allena T.

Yelp
If you are up for a delicious and healthy salad this is the place for you! And the manager Kayla is awesome!!
google avatar

Chelsea T.

Yelp
Came here for the first time and ordered the Tangine Dream. Pros: Despite it being the lunch rush, the line moved quickly and service was rapid and efficient. The employees were friendly and the prep counter was clean. The salad was fresh and filling, and the price was fair for the amount and quality of food. Cons: I found a slightly rotten cauliflower floret in my salad. It put a damper on my experience but it won't prevent me from going back. All in all, I enjoyed my meal.
google avatar

Luisa T.

Yelp
I love the food, everything is fresh and the menu is not your typical boring salad, but adventurous and exiting. I love to try new combinations of veggies fruits and grains ..so far I have tried the fired up chicken, tagine dream (my favorite so far) , smoky Cesar and salmon kimchi, everything is delicious and satisfying Service is outstanding, staff will guide you if you have any preference or allergies, also is pretty quick ... Ps... try their drinks.. so refreshing for a hot summer walk around downtown
google avatar

Nicole E.

Yelp
I had the Power Bowl, can't say I'm a fan of the Protein Patties... But overall the rest of the bowl was good. Would go back, the place had a very nice atmosphere and good service. I would just have to adjust my order accordingly next time! Points for the vegan options!!

Brad F.

Yelp
7 of us had dinner around 6:45 PM. All the bowls had rice that was so stale it was hard and crunchy. Soooo disappointing. I can't believe it was served.
google avatar

Lisa E.

Yelp
So fresh, so yummy! And the best coconut ice cream I've ever had! Wish this place was in NB too! If I'm back in town, I'll be back!!
google avatar

F M.

Yelp
Disapointed the Ancho Lime dressing has been discontinued. It made my custom vegan salad amazing.
google avatar

R K.

Yelp
Fresh creative combinations. First time visit take time to read the menu on the wall. Staff are helpful and efficient. Like the clean spacious space! Drinks and desserts made fresh everyday and such a nice change from the standard soda fountain offering. Portions are very generous. Will definitely be back for more!
google avatar

Allie A.

Yelp
Absolutely awesome bowl, salad and smoothie place! I was visiting Canada from the States for a conference and I stopped by Mad Radish a few times! This is a great place for a quick and healthy lunch or dinner. I have to admit that I got the same thing pretty much every time I came in, which was the Gorgeous Greek salad, but every salad on the menu looked tasty. The ingredients in the salad were very fresh, flavorful and unique. One of my favorite ingredients was the pickled radishes. The salad was a pretty big portion as well so I felt full after each meal. They also have a variety of drinks and sides to choose from. I tried the olive focaccia as a side which I would recommend. It had a nice chewy crust with a soft center and was seasoned well.
google avatar

Candice B.

Yelp
I came around 5pm and there's only a couple of customers. I was greeted by a friendly staff while she was making a salad bowl for a customer before me. I ordered Fired Up Chicken bowl and it's delicious! All the ingredients are served fresh and the taste is not bland at all. I would come back again. Thumbs up!
google avatar

Jordan R.

Yelp
If you're searching for a fast and healthy lunch in the CBD of Ottawa, look no further! I'm bummed that I cannot have this in my rotation (I was visiting for work), this place is amazing. They've got a huge selection of delicious and inventive salads that are anything but your typical caesar or cobb. I sampled one of the seasonal summer salads with peaches, beets and goat cheese and also tried the peach smoothie, it was delicious. A friend shared some of the freshly baked bread, and it was delightful. Prices are fair, the line moves fast, the food will keep you full and satisfied.
google avatar

HM M.

Yelp
Just went here a couple of days ago. I had the coconut curry chowder which was very good! And filling. The soup and bread combo is also a very good deal. Restaurant was clean and staff was good and fast. Seating can be hard to find at lunch time
google avatar

Angela C.

Yelp
Love going here for lunch! The food is all really fresh and delicious and I love how all of their packaging and cutlery is compostable. However, the price is a bit expensive if you were to come here daily.
google avatar

Emilie R.

Yelp
Went here for a late lunch and I was really pleased with my experience. The salad portions were big enough for a big lunch or two meals, the staff was really friendly and helpful, and the food was really good. I also loved seeing which items were vegetarian and vegan on the menus. I just wish you didn't have to pay extra for bread but I'll definitely go back and try the other bowls and soft serve.
google avatar

Susan W.

Yelp
Such a cute place!! Got the coconut soft serve with the vegan brownie. Both delicious, and barely differentiable from non vegan counterparts. The soft serve was really creamy/silky and didn't melt quickly, even in 30+ degree weather. The meals looked amazing - lots of variety, fresh and healthy ingredients. Hope to come back for a meal in the future... but lowkey wish there was a Mad Radish in Calgary!
google avatar

Mark W.

Yelp
I went with my children on Sunday afternoon after a weekend of eating unhealthy food, and this was the answer. We had the red curry soba bowl, a smokey mushroom caesar, a warm chicken bowl, and they were all great. As a bonus, we felt as if we had a nutritious meal. It is a little annoying that they don't take cash, but I'm sure they are used to that criticism. Big widow walls and clean bathrooms to boot. We will go back, the next time we are in the nation's capital. They are opening one up in Toronto this fall: good news for the city that really runs the country.
google avatar

Tanz Y.

Yelp
The salads are amazing, well-portioned and well-priced. As the restaurant is quite new, they haven't yet figured out all the kinks with their pick-up service, so expect to wait a little while for your food if you order ahead of time.
google avatar

Ek B.

Yelp
Amazing delicious salad combos I would never dream of, super fresh ingredients and big bonus.. gender neutral washrooms!! I wish there were more locations. That's the only drawback.
google avatar

Joanie L.

Yelp
Super nice place. I am vegan and this place makes very good vegan options, not some option just to make sure they can tell it's vegan, real good vegan options. I took the vegan Caesar salad with olive bread. It was delicious. The bread taste like heaven, at 1,75$ it's a gift they do! The staff was very sweet and kind, genuinely happy to serve me. Next time to Ottawa I will make sure to try the coconut ice cream, the opening season is starting tomorrow apparently!
google avatar

C B.

Yelp
I had the Falafel salad and while the ingredients are fresh, the falafel patties are tough and dry. A little disappointing.

Dani M.

Yelp
I just had Mad Radish for the first time today for lunch. I ordered the Coconut Curry Chowder with the rosemary focaccia bread, Shawarma Chicken Hand Pie and their vegan, gluten free brownie. The soup was okay. I've had much better before, but the bowl was pretty big. The site states that it's fresh veggies in the soup, but they looked like someone opened a bag of frozen veggies (lima beans included) and just dumped it in. The bread was okay too. The soup + bread combo is pretty affordable ($6), and would be a filling meal (I just wanted to try a couple of things). I wish the soup tasted better. The Shawarma pie was good. It was soft, the spices were nice - but for the price, you could pay an extra dollar and get a shawarma sandwich somewhere else. I don't think I would order it again, but only because it was heavy and not my type of food. The vegan/gluten-free brownie - this brownie is hands down the best. It was so good and I will continue to pick this up as a treat. It was delicious and I can't believe it's vegan and gluten-free. It's not insane high in calories either (under 300) which is pretty great for a dessert. All in all, I suspect this will be the place I'll pick up some lunch. I didn't grab a salad meal because they were upwards of 1,000 calories per meal. (Yes there's an argument that my entire lunch today was around 1,000 but I didn't eat it all. I saved about half for my lunch tomorrow - well, all except that brownie). I will try the salads eventually as they look freakin' delicious (and that butter chicken bowl - looks yum!) but I wish they had meals that were fewer calories. And better soup.
google avatar

Sandy C.

Yelp
Highly recommend. Well priced soup and bread combo. I had the pumpkin sweet potato soup and the servers were sweet about letting me sample it beforehand. Is a bright, clean facility. Nice windows and plenty of seating. It's a shame that they don't offer free wifi.

Ayman N.

Yelp
My friend ordered their smoked salmon salad, it was about $24 price is ok but was expecting a mix of flavour and delicioushisness, " I know, I know it's not a word" any hoo. The horseradish dressing was over powering, the salmon was flavourless and tasted old, what a disappointment. Especially that the presentation was fantastic it looked delicious made me want to go order one mys Upgraded for great customer service, and I need to make a correction the price is $15 not $24.

Sudharshana L.

Yelp
Great stop for healthy food options on a busy day. The food is fresh. Wishing to have more locations outside downtown.

Dana L.

Yelp
Great food. Fresh. Delicious. And I love that I can order my lunch online... I get there and it's waiting. Perfect.

Gus E.

Yelp
Coconut Soft Ice Cream was excellent. The salads were more than a little disappointing.

Jessica R.

Yelp
I am extremely disappointed by my recent experience ordering online from here. I noticed that Mad Radish added a few new items to their menu, and I was looking forward to trying some of them out. I placed an order on Skip the Dishes from the Albert St. location. Once the food arrived, I noticed that-- not one, but-- TWO side items were missing! I spent over $5 for absolutely nothing! What a complete rip off!! Also, the hand pie that I ordered was rubbery and slightly burnt on top, and the soup was cold. I used to love this place, but clearly their standards have decreased since the last time I was there. All that I can say is STAY AWAY!

Puer A.

Yelp
Disappointing first visit. Pros: fresh, hip design, unconventional! very nice Pumpkin soup! Nice menu choices, the bread is super yummy! Unlike the other reviews the washroom was clean...zero issues there. Cons: I ordered the falafal bowl, it was ok but like a previous reviewer mentioned, The falafel was blah. The greens were fresh but I would not order it again. The real issue that lead to writing the review...it was my wifes birthday and she really wanted to try the vegan soft ice cream. She was so stoked for that....so to end off our meal she ordered the ice cream in a waffle cone. You see the picture of the ice cream cone at the top of this review page....it looked nothing like that. The girl at the cash either had no experience putting ice cream in a cone or management told her "Do not fill the cone to the top...ever!". She put a bit of ice cream in till it just graced the edge of the cone and that was it. Now we pre paid so my wife took the cone and left so there was not much time to think about the it. We really should have come back in and said something but my wifes enthusiasm had left at this point. It was pretty tough eating that cone when the ice cream was buried inside...she found a spoon in her purse and ate it that way while strolling through the glebe. The vegan ice cream was good....we will go back in hoodies to hide our faces after this review to order the ice cream again....in a cup this time! Hopefully they are feeling generous and fill the cup over the line. Sarcasm and review ends here.

Laura B.

Yelp
Great food and healthy, always a long line at lunch hour especially because they take so long to prepare the bowls. A little overpriced but worth it.

M H.

Yelp
Had the pina ensalada, totally flavourless! Get the cashless thing, but come on with not accepting Amex. I won't be back!
