Madal Cafe

Stopped by here this morning and I enjoyed an espresso and their chocolate and hazelnut croissant. The espresso I had was the one for Burundi and it was a great espresso and done very well. I also enjoyed the croissant and the flavors in it. This space is very large and has lots of light. It’s a great space to connect and hang out. There is indoor and outdoor seating.

The coffee was ordinary, nothing special. There were few seats, and it was very crowded with students on their laptops. If you’re looking for a quiet and peaceful place, it’s better to choose somewhere else.

Large coffee shop with food and drinks and also bags of coffee beans for purchase. Bright and beautiful atmosphere. Service at the register was a bit slow, and they don’t offer flavors if you are looking for something sweet in your coffee or latte.

While walking toward the Parliament, we were drawn into this café by its inviting atmosphere and charming aesthetics—and we’re glad we stopped. The food was excellent, offering a nice variety of pastries and high-quality coffee. Orders are managed efficiently with a device that beeps when your food is ready for pickup, keeping the process smooth and organized. The space is spotless and thoughtfully designed, making it an ideal spot for studying or working. There are plenty of power outlets available, which is a big plus for those needing to charge their devices. The only reason I'm not giving a full five stars is the price—it's a bit on the higher side for what is essentially a simple breakfast. Still, the overall experience was very enjoyable and worth a visit.

The space is spacious and welcoming, with plenty of tables in different sizes and power outlets everywhere, which makes it ideal if you’re planning to stay a while with your laptop. The coffee is excellent and they offer a nice variety. We tried the cold brew tonic (light and refreshing) and the iced flat white, which was smooth and delicious. Food-wise, we were pleasantly surprised! The banana bread was super moist and tasty, and the truffle focaccia was so good we ended up ordering a second one. Definitely a great cafe whether you’re looking to work or just enjoy good coffee and food in a relaxed atmosphere.

We were cold and tired after our Parliament Building tour and stumbled on Madal, which is about 2 blocks away. There’s plenty of seating inside and it’s super cozy. We each had a coffee drink as well as a piece of cake. There’s clean bathrooms as well as free wifi. The staff were very nice and super helpful when we had questions about the menu.

This café quickly became one of my favorites in Budapest. The selection is wide, drinks and desserts are top notch and the staff are very attentive. A great spot to add to your list when exploring the city!

Worked from this cafe during my stay in Budapest. Very cozy and work-friendly place that got everything that you may need: hot drinks, lunch, dessert and free water. What I liked the most about this place is that they have quite large tables making it comfortable to work. Additionally, the location is very central and is literally in front of the parliament building.
