Came for dinner with a big group and had a great time. We had the Just Woo Me set menu, which included Five Spiced Fried Chicken and Fried Spicy Cauliflower for starters and Beef Rendang, Char Kwat Teow, Madam's Yellow Chicken Curry, Malaysian Slaw for mains. Rice and Roti Canai. Portuguese Custard Tarts for dessert

Google
Great evening at Madam Woo. Only recommendation was the Beef Rendang could have had more sauce as it was rather dry. Service great and everyone was super friendly. Drinks and food was served within 20 minutes of arriving. Tables are turned quickly.

Google
I always find Madam Woo as a great place in Queenstown to mix up the taste buds. A little taste of Malaysia/Singapore in an almost unexpected place 😁 Most of their dishes like the Chow Kway Teow and Roti Channai is close enough to authentic Definitely a wonderful Queenstown option to keep your palate refreshed

Google
Fantastic food! Fresh clean flavours that just sing! Enjoyed the curry, fried chicken and pork hawker roll. Cocktails also very good. Friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended.

Google
Love the Peranakan Asia style they serve, with strong flavor. Order the Nasi Lemak and Char Kwetiau, and love it! Both are very good . Recommended if you seek for comfort Asian food.

Google
the menu had too many good options to pick from so we decided to get the banquet and regretted. the food was delicious however we don’t particularly love fried food over other food and the first 3/4 dishes were fried. would love to come back and pick the dishes we order as the food was delicious and service was outstanding!

Second time here with a friend and wasn’t the same as last time. We had a staff member that wasn’t to friendly (kinda felt like she didn’t want to engage) We had calamari, duck hooker roll, chicken broth. And wine. The duck was fantastic! Same as the chicken but however the calamari was tough and rubbery.

What can I say.... This place was a massive disappointment. The food was average, it was passable, nice but nothing special. It is the minimum taste and quality I'd expect from a south East Asian restaurant. The service was bad, in general it seemed poorly organised. Then specifically some employees would seem to forget or ignore what you said. E.g. after our main meal was done the person came over and cleared our plates and asked if we'd like anything else, to which I said "yeah can we order some dessert thanks" so she said she'd go get a menu, to which I said it's ok we already know what we'd like (we wanted to try the rotti apple crumble and Portuguese tarts). She then said she'll be right back to write down the order... She never came back. We waited 10 to 15 mins and no waitress came back for anything, not even to ask if we were waiting on anything. We got tired of waiting so got up and left, and decided to get ice cream at Mrs Fergs, which was delicious. Save your time and go there.

Yelp
So in my haste to make a reservation, I definitely accidentally did it for the Hamilton location instead of the Queenstown location, but since I was doing an early dinner, the restaurant was completely empty and it wasn't an issue. Especially considering this is in the downtown area, I can see it getting packed for dinner. I loved the ambiance and decor inside the restaurant. I got the laksa after reading many reviews recommending this dish. It was on the spicy side, and it was good, but I wouldn't say it was outstanding. Next time I would try something else. I was intrigued by the Portuguese custard tarts, as that wasn't expected from a Malaysian restaurant, but I was already planning on getting dessert later, so I skipped them this time.

Yelp
Madam Woo in Queenstown offers a fusion of Southeast Asian street food flavors, and while the menu is diverse and intriguing, our experience was somewhat mixed. We ordered a selection of dishes, and while they were enjoyable, none really stood out as exceptional. The flavors were decent, with a balance of spice and freshness, but some dishes seemed a bit underwhelming, lacking the punch and depth you'd expect from Southeast Asian cuisine. For example, the hawker rolls, a signature dish, had good flavors but didn't quite have that wow factor. Other dishes felt slightly over-seasoned, leaning on salt rather than complex flavors. While it was an "okay" meal, the experience didn't leave a lasting impression, especially considering Queenstown's dynamic food scene. Madam Woo is still worth trying if you're in the mood for casual Asian flavors, but if you're looking for something truly memorable, you might explore other options in town.

Yelp
If you're staying one night in Queenstown, a lot of people would direct you to eat at saying that you would have to try it once in your life, but I'm going to point you in a different direction and say you should go to Madam Woo's for some fantastic Chinese/Malaysian food. They call their entrees "Big Flavors" and back up that claim with some bold, flavorful dishes that also have a little zing of spice to them. We started with the roast duck & hoisin Hawker roll, which was an incredible way to start the meal. I would recommend anyone get this if you're only going to have one thing. For entrees we had the Char Kway Teow (fried noodles with prawns, sausage, and egg) and honey and soy tossed squid. The squid was good, but the noodles were amazing. My wife and I both loved the noodles. Service was friendly, but I knocked them down a star for being a little slow on getting the food out when it wasn't particularly packed. Still, even if you're hungry after a day of walking the Routebourne track (like we were), the food was definitely worth the wait.

Yelp
Never imagined I'd taste home in such a far away land. Malaysian food has a special place in my heart as it has flavors similar to the fusion of Peruvian and Chinese cuisine, and it was my comfort food of choice when I moved away from home. The Hawker Rolls were amazing with the right portion and flavor to feel refreshing and savory at the same time. The beef rendang was so freaking good! Tender meat well flavored with star anise made it absolutely mouth-watering. The egg tarts were the cherry on top. The latter was more of a nostalgia thing, and also because last month I had been in Lisbon! Anyway, great food, great place and very attentive service. If you ever come to Queenstown, and want a vintage vibe with excellent ambiance to talk to friends and combine it with comforting food, this is the place to rock it.

Dustin W.

Yelp
Ate takeout so I can't speak about their inside, but the food you should be prepared to be spicy! The duck hawker was amazing and the best of the 3 items so would definitely recommend. Nasi lemak was decent but not very filling or too unique. The laksha was tasty. Everything had a kick, but it was overall quickly made and tasty. Not a bad choice if you're looking for some spice and Malaysian style food!

Cheryl S.

Yelp
We had such a great experience at Madam Woo. The service was on point, the ambiance was pleasant and appealing, the food was tasty. The spice level was lowered to NZ standards but we still enjoyed the beef rendang and the laksa that we ordered. It was the first time my husband tried Malaysian food and he ended up loving it. I also ordered their Crouching Tiger mock tail as I needed a break from drinking wine and was even pleased with that. We were able to get seated via an early walk-in when the restaurant opened at 5pm. I would definitely recommend eating here if you haven't had Malaysian food and you're a rookie when it comes to spicy food, lol. The bathroom were clean and I loved being able to take a peek into the kitchen on the way there.

Jevonah K.

Yelp
Excellent good, excellent service. Romantic lighting. Great date night spot or late night meal. Location is perfect and plenty of bars around. The cocktails here are not the best, but the food is top notch!

Su L.

Yelp
This restaurant came recommended to us by locals who took us on a tour. Coming from Sydney, I didn't expect the Asian food to be better in Queenstown. We came here for lunch and were seated immediately. The service was a bit snitty, but the ambience was light and airy. My friends and I each got one main dish, but the menu is more geared towards share plates. The food here was decent, but in no way was it amazing. My friend's vegetarian laksa was quite bland, and by far the worst of the three dishes. I had the squid, which is one of their signature dishes, and I recommend sticking with their signature dishes, as outlined on the menu.

Ashanthi G.

Yelp
My 20yo daughter and I arrived for dinner at 5pm and were told they were closed (even though the sign said open). Immediately after walking out we saw several other white people and southeast Asians entering and being seated (we are brown skinned). When we re-entered we were seated but it certainly left an unpleasant taste to otherwise meh food and our first meal in New Zealand having just flown into Queenstown. On the positive our individual server was a pleasant young man.

Bowie L.

Yelp
I was really drawn to the interior design of this restaurant and I love Malaysian food. I had a lamb Hawker roll which was the daily roll and a Blushing Dragon for a drink, both of which I really enjoyed. Service was good also. However, my friend had the laksa and she said it was the worst laksa she had ever had. I tried her soup and it really had no flavor or spice. Also, another friend ordered a roti canai and I was surprised that she didn't get a side of curry to eat with it, which I have always gotten with roti canai.

Loosey B.

Yelp
My review is only for the roti canai! I absolutely love roti canai, and I can honestly say that Madam Woo's rotis were the best I have had since eating them from a roadside hut in Malaysia. If you love roti canai, you have to try this place. Hubby had the fried rice, which was also excellent. I'd go back today if I could, but we are supposed to try other places while we're here for a couple of days!

Jia H.

Yelp
Madam Woo really hit the spot and satisfied my Asian food craving halfway through our New Zealand vacation of great red meats and red wines. Dumplings: awesome Seafood curry: awesome Laksa: very good Sautéed seasonal greens: awesome Ginger mojito: refreshing and spicy!

Sam E.

Yelp
We ordered in food to one of the resorts we were staying in called Azur. Being gluten free, they were able to accommodate to those dietary restrictions which was wonderful. I had the stir fry veggies which packed a punch and had great flavor and had an unexpected vegetable rarely seen in stir fries which was okra but it worked beautifully in the dish. The okra was soft and not gooey and cooked perfectly. The peanut and lychee salad although sounds odd was one of the best flavored salads with the perfect amount of sweetness, saltiness, and tanginess and the crunch from the peanuts added so much texture to this salad. The sweetness from the lychees were amazing! For my main, I ordered the Dahl which had great flavor and poured it over coconut rice which made the dish sweet yet tangy. Overall, I highly recommend trying to this restaurant if you want some unique and try a new cuisine.

Kristin L.

Yelp
GREAT food! Actually my first time trying Malaysian food with my friend I was traveling with and I was very impressed. Wonderful flavors, very neat spot, good atmosphere and service was great too. The laksa soup my friend got was so yummy. I tried the chicken hawker roll, very delicious. And everyone must try the roti donut dessert!

Chisholm T.

Yelp
I've been to China and Malaysia and have eaten at many hawker stalls and I can tell you that Madam Woo has done it right! Their food is AUTHENTIC and that's what I loved the most. The atmosphere of the restaurant is fun and modern. Our hotel concierge told us that it is always crowded (and it was) which is obviously a good sign. Great, friendly service. And creative, boozy cocktails! We ordered: - Sukor Spiced Sticky Chicken Wings - Percik Chicken Hawker Roll - Hainanese Chicken And Rice - Madam's Rendang (Beef) - Char Siu BBQ Pork Ribs - Stir Fried Pork Belly - Roti Canai Our entire table went crazy over all of the dishes. Everything had big, bold flavors and I still can't say enough how authentic each dish was. My personal favorites were the chicken hawker roll, Madam's rendang, and the roti canai. So so so good and probably one of the best restaurants in Queenstown. Highly recommended!!!

Leo O.

Yelp
Came here with a group of 3 adults and 1 infant. They only have 1 highchair so we just had to wait and then we were able to get the highchair. Service was excellent. They took the time to explain everything to us and one of us being vegetarian, they were able to answer more specific questions pertaining to her needs. We Ordered: Drinks = Ching Cha, Blushing Dragon, Crouching Tiger Spring Rolls Nonya Chicken Eggplant hawker Roti canai Wok Fried Greens Beef Rendang Pork Belly For the drinks, I would ask them to get it with less ice. One thing that was strange to me was they use metal straws. I understand that plastic straws are bad for the environment but I feel metal straws are unsanitary. They should just use paper/biodegradable straws. Beef rendang was a little chewy with a modified sauce. The eggplant hawker was a little messy/difficult to eat. The pork belly was good. The spring rolls were okay, nothing to write home about. Overall, I would recommend the pork belly.

Naina S.

Yelp
This was my favorite asian spot in Queenstown! The food was soooo delicious and flavorful. The service was great. I loved the indoor ambiance. I was so hungry when we went I didn't even get a chance to take a picture before scarfing down my food. The hawker rolls are a MUST get. Definitely stop by for lunch or dinner while you're in Queenstown.

Rob B.

Yelp
As a single diner one of the things I found great about this place is the small bar where you can sit and order. Service is a little sluggish. There seems to be a general group sense of waiting on tables in New Zealand that sometimes works and sometimes does not. There is not a tipping culture in NZ and sometimes that shows. My five spice ducks salad was delightful however it had none of any of the five spices.

Justin Y.

Yelp
The Hawker Roll is to die for. I'm a huge fan of roti and using that as a wrap, similar to a taco was an amazing combination. We had to come back here for a second day in a row, just to eat the Hawker Roll again. You can't go wrong with any of the rolls they offer, all are equally amazing.

Wendy M.

Yelp
Great staff, vegan / vegetarian friendly. I tried the vegetable dal and the laska. I loved the full flavor in the dal and it was great with a side of rice. The laska tasted more like yellow curry than laska I've had in the past. I would recommend trying it out for yourself.

Swati R.

Yelp
Food was average only. We ordered Char Kway Tweo (vegetarian version) and Roti Canai. They were nice enough to add tofu, however the dish had an overdose of soy sauce which made it very salty and subdued other flavors :(. Roti Canai didn't come with it's traditional sauce :(. The only saving grace was that the service was quick!

Reid Z.

Yelp
I ate here on New Year's Day with my family. To start, we ordered some dumplings that were pretty good. For my main course, I ordered the ginger chicken. It was good. Some other people in my party ordered the Hainanese chicken and they didn't like it at all. The other food items that my family ordered got good reviews from my family (they liked the bbq pork ribs) and the fish coconut curry got fine reviews. Overall, the food was alright. Some stuff was good, one item was found to be not so good. Service wasn't great either and probably is the reason why I'm ultimately giving this restaurant three stars. No one in my party got refills with their water while we were eating our meal. I eventually had to get the attention of our waitress. I didn't like like that because I put a lot of sriracha sauce on my chicken and my mouth was quite hot as result. The restaurant was still a bit busy at around 3 o'clock when my family sat down, but I like my water. This was just one experience at this restaurant. I guess maybe just don't order the Hainanese chicken if you are inclined to want to take away any information from this review. But this is just one experience here.

Yelp
This is in a pricey and trendy area of Queenstown. My husband and I made a reservation the day before and I was glad before they were pretty booked up even though it was a weeknight. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the wantons as a starter and then shared the Rendang beef dish and the vegetable side. It was plenty of food for the two of us. I had never had Malaysian food. So delicious! We also bought a bottle of their housemade Siracha to take home with us.

George F.

Yelp
Tried their Malaysian curry. It was excellent. The chicken was tender and plentiful. I do wish they had more potatoes in the dish and gave a larger bowl of steamed rice. A bit pricey but consistent to price points charged by other establishments in Queenstown.

John M.

Yelp
Came here for lunch. Warm and modern dining room. Had the daily special of dumplings. They were excellent. Had the Indonesian beef curry with rice. Very good but too much food for lunch. Friendly wait staff.

Katie C.

Yelp
Hands down, the BEST roti I've ever had! It's so flaky and delicious. I also had the duck salad which was tasty, but I'm not sure I'd order it again when there are so many other things on the menu. Be sure to sign up for their loyalty program! They send out freebies all the time!

Alex D.

Yelp
Madam Woo is Josh Emett and Fleur Caulton's (Rata) latest Queenstown venture. In collaboration with Jane Leong, the restaurant serves up Malaysian and Chinese street food. Not to be missed are the hawker rolls. Roti chanai stuffed with your choice of sticky pork hock, chicken and coconut or soy sesame eggplant. The pork is my personal favourite but honestly, they're all delicious! Their beef rendang is also a winner with perfectly balanced spices and well-cooked beef. At Madam Woo most of the dishes are designed to share so it's a great spot to hit up with a group - that way you can sample something from each section. Ask your waiter if you are unsure how much to order. The wine list is small but is full of options that compliment their fresh and fragrant food. However, if you're not driving, I'd recommend trying a cocktail. They have some interesting takes on classics and at $13 - $16 a pop are a steal. I tried the elderflower & cucumber Collins, which was incredibly refreshing - perfect for a hot summer afternoon! My only gripe is that the last time we went they told us there would be a 30min wait despite only two tables being occupied. Normally this would be fine, except it was at the beginning of service (6pm), they don't take reservations and without skipping up a beat they offered to escort us upstairs to their cocktail bar. To me this just seemed like a blatant ploy to get us to buy a round of cocktails before sitting down to dinner. Once up there we were tempted to ask for waters but it was a warm summers evening and a cocktail on the verandah just sounded to good to pass up. Despite this cheeky maneuver, I wouldn't hesitate to go back or to recommend to visiting friends!

Yelp
I'm not sure what the hype is about this place - Queenstown has plenty of amazing food and this one is completely average. Minus 1 star for food: the noodles tasted like any chow fun pad see ew you get at a standard Thai restaurant in the US (but costs NZ$24). Prawn dumplings similarly mediocre. The honey squid was decent but a bit soggy and overly sweet. A cocktail (Penang Mary) boasting wasabi and chili just tasted like a mild Bloody Mary with no heat at all. Bright spots were the chicken hawker roll and the coconut rice. Minus 1 star for service: It took them 20 min to return and take our order, and energy was completely lackluster. My water glass was empty for 80% of the meal and attitude was poor when we finally asked for a refill. The most attentive they get is when we asked for the bill and they cleared our table - we had 3 waiters help with that and all within 60 seconds of signaling for the check. Minus 1 star for price: 2 people, 1 cocktail, 4 dishes for $90. For mediocre streetfood. No thanks.

Yelp
Starving, yes, yes we were... But of course, at 12:30 pm everyone and their grandma was out trying to grab a bite... We wanted to hit up Feurg Burger, but the people in line were starting to sprout grey hairs, they had been waiting so long... If I were to wait in that line, I could guarantee that Id probably eat a few people.... Er, um, gross... Any who, my friend and I walked around for a hot minute and found Madam woo... No this wasn't a fortune teller to let us know that we would soon be eating, it was a restaurant... Oh but wait, it did tell us we would get a table within 15/20 minutes... My friend and I both ordered the chicken salad and I also ordered a chicken satay appetizer and my friend ordered some bread dish. While the salad was pretty good, when I received it, it was full of crunchy things (I do not eat), hiding the chicken, which made me feel like there was none. I asked about the chicken and the woman snapped at me, ITS THERE.... Um yeah, does this dish come with a microscope? Thank goodness I ordered the satay as well, I ain't no vegan! I devoured my food in 5 seconds flat and totally could have ordered more, knowing I was going to hungry in an hour, but ordering more at Madam Woo wouldn't be worth it.... I could have easily called that my appetizer and went to another restaurant for the main event. While Madam Woo is no fortune teller, I can foresee myself NOT going back there again. There are far more tastier looking places Id like to sink my teeth into!

Yelp
Based on the reviews and the hour and a half wait last night when we first tried to visit, I expected to be blown away by this place, but I definitely wasn't. The ambience is fun and eclectic - the decor is comfortable and chic, and the place feels intimate. The toilets are located outside, which is weird. But all in all, cool vibe. The service was great - the server was friendly and didn't bat an eyelash about refilling my water twice (I know, crazy Americans and their bottomless drink expectations). The food was... ok. I got the pork belly stir fry and while the pork was cooked to perfection, it was so thoroughly covered in chile pepper that the flavor of the pork was completely lost. I really wanted to like it - quality ingredients, great presentation - but overall it was only memorable because of the ridiculous amount of pepper covering the plate. Next time, I'll request they go easy on that so I can accurately review the taste of their food, but until then, I'll have another refill of water, please. :)

Matthew T.

Yelp
This place hit the spot! It was recommended to us while traveling through Queenstown. We were told there is usually a wait (for a good reason) but they were able to seat our family right away. The service was great and the food was AMAZING! Everything we tried was amazing I recommend: Pulled Sticky Pork Sukor Spiced Sticky Chicken Pork Wonton's And for main course: Madam's Rendang with chicken Definitely going back here and highly recommended!

Stasj T.

Yelp
I'm really hard-pressed to give this place either a 1-star or 2-star review, but here goes. I heard about Madam Woo whilst on the water taxi with a bunch of Aussies who said that they were having dinner there. Due to the Asian sounding name, I thought that this would be a good place to visit, as I am a big fan of Asian cuisine. I decided to drop by here for a late lunch and give it a go. I walked into the barren restaurant (keep in mind, it's about 5:15p) and looked around, not being noticed for at least five minutes. Once the hostess came from the back, she grabbed me a menu and let me pick a seat. Considering how nice it was, I chose to sit outside. The hostess raised the umbrella for me, which allowed me to slide on the bench into the shade if I were to get too hot. Reviewing the menu, I was disappointed as there wasn't much to choose from in terms of what I'm used to at most Asian restaurants. Maybe I was picturing a Thai menu, with lots of items with vegetables, but this one was lacking. I ended up ordering the chicken satay with "pak choy" and stuck with my water. When the dishes arrived, I was excited as the chicken satay looked good and they had the peanut sauce on the side, which is nice when you actually want to taste the chicken. I took a bite of the chicken, which had good seasoning on it. I dipped and rolled the chicken into the satay sauce, wondering if it would be really peanut-y, but I never found out, as what appeared to be a pubic hair was now wrapped around my chicken. So, it ends up that I only ate the pak choy, which, for what it is, was not that bad. I brought my plates inside to the bartender, who, out of habit, asked how things were. I told him the pak choy was good, but I didn't really eat the chicken due to aforementioned incident. He removed the chicken from the bill and apologized, but being the bartender, didn't pursue it further (no pointing the hair out to the waitress, no calling out the chef, no cares really). I've had hair in my food before, typically long and not my hair color, and the staff usually apologizes like mad. Head hair can accidentally end up in a dish. Nether-region hair, on the other hand, is completely unexpected, disgusting, and done intentionally.

Yelp
The trend of not taking reservations is really starting to grind my gears. It may be good for the restaurant to always be full and with high customer turnover, but those not lucky enough to be the chosen ones are left disappointed. We tried to get a table at Madam Woo's yesterday and understood from the website that they don't do reservations unless for big groups. 4 of us turn up at 7pm and ask for a table only to be told, sorry not this evening. We call the next day to try for the following night and the abrupt restaurant manager told us the don't take reservations, my wife persevered explaining the situation of the night before and finally manage to persuade her to let us in if we come 6pm on the dot. With a mental black mark already in my head we arrived at our allotted slot and were sat in a very nice table near the window. The restaurant is nice, funky and incredibly busy. A constant stream of guests are turned away while we eat all hoping to be the chosen ones....I don't think this place will ever put the customer first. The food is good, I've eaten Malaysian cuisine in both New Zealand and Malaysia. While not authentic it's certainly a great spin on some very tradition dishes. My wife (a Malaysian herself) polished off everything In front of her and seemed to enjoy the food. The chicken curry is good, however you can't call chicken in a puddle of sauce a curry, the waiter was happy to help with our request for more sauce from the kitchen. All in all a good dining experience, it could have been a great one of they can sort their non existent reservation system (put the customer before profit).

Yelp
This is a simple but very good Asian restaurant amid the hustle and bustle of Queenstown Mall. Indoors the environment is quieter than outdoors, so if you want to chat you can. The food is fresh, tasty and good. They didn't make me feel like we were In a rush at all. It is very relaxed and nice. I came here for lunch - my companion and I enjoyed the Stir Fried Pork Belly and the Acar Salad of spicy pickled vegetables, coconut, tofu and Vietnamese mint. It was all really good. I'll be back for sure. Thank you.

Stephen G.

Yelp
Very bland and under seasoned food. Ordered the chicken and rice. It was essentially roughly chopped chicken thighs over rice. Lots of bone, cartilage and fat chunks. This place is way too pricy and the food was just not good.

Allie H.

Yelp
Great Asian food. Loved the laksa, potstickers, fried cauliflower, rolls and edamame. Recommend!

John G.

Yelp
Best food so far in Queenstown hands down Recommend booking ahead hard to get in at short notice

Megan Z.

Yelp
We ordered dumplings , they were ok. we then ordered the a chicken rice dish that was not good. the chicke had too much fat and there was not sauce. there was way to much vegetable and it caused the whole bowl to be off balance. they didn't bring us water and did not take very good care of it's guest.

Ankan J.

Yelp
Very nice place right in the heart of town center in Queenstown with Chinese and Malay fusion. Few vegetarian options on the menu to pick. Roti Canai with Malaysian dahl (two sides) were my favorite. Service and ambiance is great. It has both indoor and outdoor seating. The drinks menu looks good as well even we didn't try any cocktails ourselves. No wifi in the restaurant but free spark wifi (1GB daily limit) is available outdoors and close to the windows.

Rich C.

Yelp
Very popular spot. We weren't able to get a table straight away so went to the bar upstairs and enjoyed a drink on the balcony while watching the storm clouds roll in over the lake. The restaurant is lively, staff friendly and the sharing plates we had were delicious. Fried chicken was great.

Steven S.

Yelp
What a treat. Food was fantastic and staff were passionate about the place. Loved it. Prawn and ginger dumplings. Had to order more.

Matt P.

Yelp
The food was amazing as well as the service. We shared 3 starters, 1 main and a dessert and 4 drinks. Total cost $120. Not bad considering the price of most restaurants in Queenstown. Highly recommend a visit but maybe book as it's very popular.

Nicole H.

Yelp
Not as great as I had hoped since this spot shows up on a lot of top restaurants lists. They are super accommodating for my gluten free, egg free, shellfish free intolerances. I go the eggplant dish with rice, needed more salt which was probably in the stuff they would have put in it. Others got the same dish and said it had an odd flavor.

Kyna L.

Yelp
We came due to the high rating, but it is not authentic Chinese or Vietnamese food at all! Beware if you are expecting authenticity! Would recommend the Tossed Squid and the Char Kuay Teow. Prices are generally on the high end. Service is good.

Hailey R.

Yelp
We came with high expectations having josh emmet name associated with the restaurant - the food was average - we live in ponsonby and often eat at moo chow chow and other Asian fusion eateries - this was miles off what I expected Service was good and loved the decor and bar upstairs to wait - but I was underwhelmed to say the least with the food

Yelp
Excellent food. Well seasoned, perfectly spiced, and elegantly presented. We had the soy and honey squid, the chicken laksa, shumai and chicken hawker roll. Besides the shumai, everything was awesome. Service is also great.

Yelp
Had the lamb curry which was alright, so difficult to pick a dish! The atmosphere was great and the service was warm and friendly. My drink (lychee raspberry) was super delicious! I enjoyed this place, would return but try something different.

Yelp
Really nice asian restaurant in the city center. Food is delicious! All plates are big, that's why the best way is to take a lot plates to share. Atmosphere is very cozy and stylish. Nearly the best place in Queenstown.
