Food was nice and tasty, came quite quickly, service was on and off, but the place was extremely busy so it was completely understandable. I don’t normally eat lamb as I don’t like the taste but the lamb rack was so tasty! They also cater for vegans, vegetarians and coeliacs. Curry so nice too and excellent wine list. Only complaint was it was noisy but if you want to avoid that, go during weeknights

We really loved our experience here. Chicken wings were delicious as were the fish bao buns. Dry fresh tasty mango salad. The prawns for main were a bit disappointing. The menu stated a level 3 in spice but that’s not what we got. A bit of a bland sauce to be honest. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Lovely vibe to the restaurant. We will definitely be back to try some other things on the menu.

Lovely place for dinner prior to seeing a show at festival theatre. Bonus that you can dine here at sky city with free parking so makes it easier for seeing a show. Yummy food. Just need more description on menu so you know exactly what you’re ordering. But food was amazing and table service excellent

The night started out poorly with the male staff member not reading the booking to see that we had pre purchased champagne upon arrival. However we were then served by a lovely female attendant who promptly addressed the issue, and got the rating back on track. The food is good value, we went with a buffet for $69pp and it was all delicious, the only caveat is the lamb was quite fatty. The stand out menu item is their cheesecake which was exceptional. What was also impressive was the speed at which items came out, despite being quite busy there was very little wait time between items and courses, very impressive.

Was a great experience and atmosphere. Got a booth section, and we booked for a quiet time, so got personal explanation and recommendation from Chef. Great service and food. Chef Abraham was amazing.

Google
Fantastic atmosphere and beautiful decor. We enjoyed the large banquet for 2 with a variety of dishes. Stand out were the tofu and pork belly bao buns (best I’ve ever had), Saigon style chilli prawns with the Dessert a clear highlight! Super creative peanut butter parfait with basil gelato & chilli crumb. Delicious menu! Service fell short only because we had different people serving the dishes every time and so lacked the personalisation that I expected with the venue.

This Vietnamese restaurant in Adelaide is one of my favorites! The food is packed with flavor, and the prices are excellent for the quality. The menu caters well to various dietary needs, ensuring there's something for everyone. It's a popular spot, so be sure to book in advance as it tends to get busy!

This restaurant has a positive vibe when you walk in, with a lovely ambiance and a modern decor! Highly recommend the Grilled Octopus and Roasted Barramundi, both very tasty! Awesome service too!

Yelp
Too lazy to walk too far from the train station so decided to have a quick bite in cold weather. Ordered a short rib pho but really didn't like the way it was being prepared. Rice noodle was rough and the slice meat that was cooked was still in a folded form like a crepe. Only happy thing was the broth was still warm and tasty with peppermint leaves and bean sprouts.

Yelp
My entire experience at Madame Hanoi was amazing from the moment I stepped in to their beautifully decked out heritage listed space. After discussing my dietary needs (gluten-free, low-FODMAP, pescatarian) with the lovely, attentive staff, I decided on two dishes that not only met my requirements but were beautifully presented and really really yummy. (Sashimi-style kingfish and tamarind tofu). Beverage wise, my well-priced Madame Lemonade cocktail tasted great and so too did the Sua Da Vietnamese coffee. Overall it's a must visit if you're in the Adelaide CBD and I'm leaving wishing Madame Hanoi resided in Melbourne.

Yelp
The gin high tea was great value! Food was excellent, the gin tea was very tasty, I couldn't help myself and had to order another pot. The service was very attentive, we were never without a drink. We stayed there for some extra drinks after but our table was booked for the next sitting, they didn't rush us out they just asked nicely if we could move to a booth, wich was even more comfortable. Good experience all round and I look forward to going again.

Yelp
Great location in the city, this place has tons of charm. Very accommodating too, we rocked in without a booking and they were more than happy to have us. We did the just feed me option and it is such a great value. Love all the dishes too and it does include a nice Asian dessert to end the meals. I don't eat beef and the chef it's kind enough to adjust the menu for me. Good choice for drinks too. Recommended and yes, I'm coming back again for sure

Yelp
I've been here three times now, and I've walked away both times thinking the same thing: Great food, average service. Firstly, don't let the fact that Madame Hanoi is *technically* a part of the casino deter you from eating here. I'm yet to see any seedy people in here! The vibe of Madame Hanoi is really nice, laid-back and relaxed, but you still feel a bit special being there. Great date night spot! Madame Hanoi is split into three parts - downstairs, mezzanine bar and upstairs. The upstairs area seems to be better for larger groups, whereas the setting downstairs is a little more intimate. The mezzanine bar has long tables as the only seating, and is quite dark. Natural light fills both the downstairs and upstairs restaurant areas, but the bar lighting is very limited. Despite this, the interior is absolutely beautiful. There's a wide array of colours which look fantastic against the heritage building setting. The real star though, is the a huge mural of a Vietnamese woman scaling both stories of the restaurant. She is absolutely beautiful! Now, the food. Madame Hanoi is described as being a mix of French and Vietnamese. Well, it is and it isn't. The savoury food is predominantly Vietnamese, and the desserts are mostly French. The 'fusion' aspect is, to me, non-existent. Despite this, the food is creative, colourful and presented beautifully. Most dishes come on half-half plates, one half having Asian patters, and the other half being French-inspired. They literally look like someone has glued two different plates together, and they look great! Both times I have eaten here, I have chosen the 'let us feed you' menu, for $55 pp, including dessert, excluding alcohol. It's pricey, but it's worth it. I also appreciate that the menu shows exactly what you will be getting in the set menu. As a bit of a fussy eater and someone who is not a huge fan of spice, Asian food can be a bit of a minefield, and I don't usually feel 100% comfortable handing the reigns over to someone else. I really like knowing what's coming! Our set menu included 'son-in law' duck eggs, mango, papaya and carrot salad, pork belly baos, peppered soy beef, spicy chicken wings, Asian greens with garlic and rice. Upon ordering, we were asked if we were in a rush. The first time, we were, and staff did their best to ensure that we were in and out within an hour. However, last Wednesday, we weren't. The waitress explained that the dishes would be brought out in three courses. She then suggested a cocktail, and we each got a Hanoi Hannah, which I would definitely recommend. First, the wings and duck eggs. The wings were a little on the spicy side (I'm really weak when it comes to chilli!), but they were so sticky and flavoursome I just had to keep going! The duck eggs...well we were trying to work out how they'd managed to both poach and deep-fry it. The duck eggs were a real stand out, I just wish the yolk had still been runny. Next out was the mango, papaya and carrot salad and the pork belly baos. Order whatever you want, but GET THE BAOS. Don't think about it, just do it. They're messy, they're rich and they're probably pretty awful for you, but your taste buds will be forever in your debt! The salad was nice too, but was dwarfed by the almighty and everlasting power pork belly has on me. Last was the beef, garlic Asian green and rice. The greens were crisp and crunchy, but only eat the confit garlic clove if you REALLY like garlic or have no plans to kiss your date at the end of the night. That stuff is potent. The beef, ugh, that beef. It was glorious and we were fighting over who got the extra bit. I lost, and I'm still slightly bitter. I was close to keeling over from everything I'd already eaten, and then got reminded that dessert was yet to come. We were each served a glazed dome, one red and one dark brown. We both looked confused, and the waitress explained that these two half-spheres were Madame Hanoi's Bleeding Heart and Chocolate Royal. One was a white chocolate mousse with raspberry coulis, and the other was a chocolate mousse with hazelnut. Both had a chewy macaroon base which added to the decadence. We struggled, but managed to each have half of both desserts, and then called it quits. We could not have fitted any more in! While the food was worth 4 stars at least, the service is a real let down. I almost wish we had said that we had a prior engagement after dinner, because dinner went for nearly three hours! Staff were hard to get a hold of for drink orders/water refills, and eventually to get the bill I had to go to the counter and ask. If it had been particularly busy, I'd have been a little more sympathetic, however staff were frequently chatting in huddled groups. It's a real shame, because the food, décor and atmosphere at Madame Hanoi is such a stand out, yet the service really lets it down. Regardless, I'd still recommend trying the place out, maybe just make sure you have enough time on your hands!

Yelp
Shhh! I shouldn't be telling you this but Madame Hanoi does, hands down, the best hot chocolates ever! They use real Belgium chocolate and just add hot milk - delicious! The food I've had here is okay, nothing to rave about but nothing bad about it either but I will return again and again for the hot chocolate. Staff are amazing and know my regular order as soon as I walk in!

Yelp
Tasty food, service was not spectacular. We went in a group of seven, and our waitress urged us to yet the 'let us feed you' menu, however we declined as we had a few picky eaters and weren't really in the mood for a full on feast. I was a little confused by the menu, as it wasn't really clear what you would get in each dish. I would appreciate more division into small bites/rice paper rolls etc, in order to plan a meal. Really the price was the only way to go by to determine the serving size. Instead we ordered a few dishes to share around a bit, and the dishes I had were tasty. I had the goi su ga, a masterstock chicken salad, which was fresh, fairly sweet and had picked chicken generously distributed throughout. However, the chicken, while soft and juicy, had no specific flavour of its own and I can't help but feel that there is a better way to showcase the delicate flavour of masterstock poached meat. Braised beef buns were deliciously warm and pillowy with savoury meat, a zing of pickles and creamy mayonnaise. For drinks I had the Madames Lemonade, which was a great balance of fresh and sweet. Espresso martinis had by my friends received 'wow!' with their vietnamese take on the cocktail bar mainstay, and they certainly pack a punch with nice strong coffee. All in all it was tasty food. I felt perhaps a little overpriced, as I expect a little more finesse for the price point, and servings were not large. I was disappointed by the service - being pressured into having the set menu which is not compulsory for groups under 8, and then being told the food would come out a bit staggered. Any competent kitchen should be able to push the food out within a reasonable time though, and we waited 20 minutes for some guests to receive the only thing that they ordered. Perhaps if the waitress checked which dishes could come out first this wouldn't have been an issue. A soft drink order did not arrive (though we were charged). If I returned to Madame Hanoi I may give the set menu a go, or perhaps just go for a few of those tasty buns and a cocktail!

Yelp
The food is delicious and there is lots of gluten-free alternatives. The soup was the most delicious soup I have ever eaten. The prawn melted in my mouth. Obviously, Madame Hanoi is a little bit expensive, especially when you compare it to the fact you can get a bahn mi on every corner for around $6. If you have a special occasion or want to romance someone, I would definitely recommend it. The biggest reason I wanted to review Madame Hanoi is because a lot of reviews have mention they received not so fantastic service. I was so confused because we had exceptional service. Our waiter was friendly, charismatic yet still professional, and very capable. We had a wonderful night and loved our free chocolates at the end of meal. I would like to think the management read the reviews on Yelp and made some necessary improvements to their customer service.

Yelp
First time visit. Food was great (particularly the duck, watermelon and mint salad), but the service was lacking - not enough staff rostered on, and the ones that were there were somewhat unenthusiastic and robotic. The dishes ordered came out in no order, which was fine, but there was quite a gap between times of service for each dish. I wanted to order their dish of scallops but was very perfunctorily told that they had no scallops today (no apology given), so I had to order another dish. Disappointing! The background music was not at all appropriate for the type of establishment, and played far too loud. This made conversation very difficult for myself and the persons I dined with. I would visit again to try other great sounding dishes on their menu.

Yelp
Enjoyed the food but I recall Saigon beer as being one of those bland lagers you can't tell from Tiger. However their tap version is a fruity floral hop craft.

Yelp
Amazing food! Great flavours and decent portion sizes for the money you pay. Recommend pork buns and salads. Stay away from the croque madame - bit rich.

Yelp
Food delicious, service however was below average. There was no reason for my friends and I to be neglected during our dining experience. No one refilled our drinks, no one took plates away, and we had to continue to ask before we got a cocktail menu, and then they never asked for our drinks! And we had to go to the counter for the bill since no one would pay attention to us. It's a shame because the place is lovely, food is yum, but the service was just a total letdown.

Yelp
A delightful modern take on Vietnamese cuisine. The menu is simple and designed for share plates so I recommend to bring friends. The service was friendly and fast, while the food was delicious. There is an extensive craft beer and wine menu to choose from.

Yelp
Absolutely gorgeous interior! Very modern and similar style to Sean's Kitchen next door. Food is good, but I fail to see the French side of the menu... Vietnamese is definitely more prominent. A total of 3 dishes suitable for vegetarians also. We had the mango and papaya salad which was delicious and super flavoursome. We also had the salt and pepper tofu which even though we requested to be mild, was a bit on the spicier side. Lightly fried and not the usual flavours you get with salt and pepper tofu elsewhere. I tried to tofu baos which I loved! My favourite dish of the night! The lime and chilli mayonnaise was delicious and worked well inside the baos. My partner had the salmon as a main and enjoyed it thoroughly! Apparently it wasn't very spicy either compared to the other dishes and also came with a side of the salad. We also ordered a steamed rice (overpriced with just under $5 for a one person serve). We shared everything except the salmon and it was way too much for us! Ended up taking the tofu, rice and some of the salad home. Also had a cocktail each and mine was lovely (Hanoi Hanna or something similar) but my boyfriend was really disappointed with his (can't remember the name but it had rum in it and was at the top of one of the cocktail menus). It seemed to have bits of pepper floating in it which would go up the straw, although the menu didn't specify that it had pepper in it. I tried it and it was way too overpowered by the alcohol flavour also and not tasty to drink at all. They offered to make him another one free of charge, but he declined and the bartender brought it back to him and suggested he drink it with a thicker straw... Not sure what this would have achieved given a thicker straw would have meant more pepper going up it. Given he voiced his disappointment to the waitress and drank about 1/4 of it with struggle, it would have been good customer service to not charge us for it at all and it was poor to bring back the drink he had already drank from, particularly after he had already been nice said not to worry about a replacement and that he didn't want to continue drinking the one he had and was fine with leaving it. We also asked the waitress what one of the ingredients was in the dish and she didn't know... Definitely some improvements to be made with the service and may be worth considering expanding the menu.

Yelp
My friend and I enjoyed a delicious meal before the crows game. I will happily recommend any one to book a night out for a meal at Madame Hanoi Bar. If you drink beer I also recommend the stone and wood pacific ale, very different to what I have drunk before but I loved it. The shredded chicken, crab meat corn soup was one of the best soups I have ever had..

Yelp
I've been to Madam Hanoi three times and I've given it all the chances I will. Single diners and couples have to sit on ludicrously high stools. Parties sit at tables which are too small for shared plates. The menu is confusing. When we took a moment too long to order we were reminded that we had to vacate the table by a certain time, which wouldn't have seemed quite so contemptuous if a waiter had come anywhere near our table for the rest of the night without us having to beg. You are told that the food will come out in bits and pieces, when it's ready, with no regard for the diner - although ours did come virtually all at once. Rice is extra and not plentiful. The beef was over cooked, cold and rubbery - served with raw onion. The duck salad was a plate of mint leaves with a few shreds of overdone duck. The chicken curry was ok, but what chicken there was was in large lumps which were difficult to cut in the serving bowl. The champagne was a thimbleful for $20. We told a waiter we were ready to order some drinks, to which she replied 'ok', and wandered off to stand behind the counter and talk to her friend, never to return. I have noted on my other visits that that is how many of the waiters spend their time at Madam Hanoi. The one star is for the decor in the small downstairs area, which is the only area I've seen open.
