We stumbled upon this place a way back in the noughties before we all had this powerful realtime phone food critic in our pockets but we never forgot the food, service and atmosphere which were exceptional even back then. Returning almost 20 years later we're delighted to be that real-time food critic and report it has improved exponentially! The food was thoughtfully prepared, fresh, interesting and delicious. Even the children's meal was prepared to the highest standards, the service was warm and accommodating and the interior renovations make this a truly beautiful space to share a meal. We will not be waiting 20 years to come back the next time! Many thanks...

We stopped for a late lunch and enjoyed the delicious onion and sage soup of the day which reminded me of a French onion soup. My husband had the very fresh oysters. Great meal and friendly service.

It was a very good experience, from the attention from the entire staff, especially the young lady, to the delicious food. I tried the salmon with pistachios, which was very good, as well as the mussels, which were delicious; I loved them. Finally, the dessert was very good, but I was already full. Very good work, 100% recommended. I will return.

My daughter will only eat steak when we go out for something to eat, she said this was the best steak she ever had. All food was delicious, service was exceptional. Highly recommended.

This is Bundorans best restaurant. It serves good pub food, has a cosy atmosphere and the staff are good. However, I think it’s really expensive for what it is. I got a fish and chip. The cod was small/ had a lot of batter, chip portion small and the salad wasn’t dressed. Doesn’t justify €25 in my opinion.

We loved everything about Maddens. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble for them. We just popped in for a drink but when we looked at the menu we decided to stay for dinner. It was a great decision. The food in the restaurant is excellent. Everything we got was delicious. We had steak with prawns,Guinness stew, creme brulee, apple tart and a brownie. Every plate was cleared. Staff were really attentive. Highly recommend a visit 👌

Our experience wasn't that great. The restaurant was quite expensive – for example, a portion of fish and chips cost almost 25 euros, which felt too high. The service wasn't very good either. The waiter gave us just a small piece of bread and didn't bring us more when we asked. That’s pretty stingy. The only good part of our meal was the steak, which was tasty. But apart from that, our experience was not very enjoyable, and the value for money isn’t great.

The food was 10/10. Oysters and shrimp to start. Had to ask for bit more bread for the shrimp as lots of sauce. I had the cod for mains- so fresh with really nice flavours. Partner had lamb-he said it was fab too. I will be back for sure.
