First time here and we will be back! Super cute place with DELICIOUS malts, cheeseburgers and homemade root beer. The coleslaw was tasty too. they did a great job accommodating a gluten-free, lettuce wrap burger, which was generously wrapped in nice lettuce. The service was incredible and our server was very generous and kind. The beef is fantastic and malts were very malty! Loved the Oreo malt and the chocolate malt. We also tried a marshmallow banana shake - so good. Didn’t love the fries but that’s a personal preference. Others in the group liked the fries.

Google
Yummerz. Pull up, lights on to order. They will come take your order and bring the food to your vehicle (tray rests on your window). Restroom on site. Plenty of spots to park. They have picnic tables if you don't want to eat in your vehicle.

Google
My Buffalo burger seemed a little dry, but that seems to be the nature of the less fatty meat. Overall everyone else’s food was good. Gabby is a great waitress and really hustled for us. Btw, Maybe someone should explain to them that grain fed beef is not a good thing. lol

On our first visit to Maddox, my husband and I were greeted by a friendly gal. She was patient with us while we asked her questions about what to order. We decided to try the 4 piece combo plate. It came with 4 pieces of chicken: a leg, breast, wing and thigh. It was lightly coated with a seasoned bread crumb. The chicken was delicious! It was fall-off-the-bone tender and the flavor was perfect; not too salty but still flavorful. The plate came with fries, which were crispy but not overdone. Maddox offers ranch dip and fry sauce along with other options. The plate also came with one roll & a piece of cornbread. Both were soft, warm & delicious, especially with the accompanying raspberry butter! Will come here again!

Google
This is a solid 4 star, almost 5. There is limited seating and also designed for in your car, hence the drive-in. The food is great! Chicken crispy, fried too. Gravy Nd mash potatoes excellent. Rolls with raspberry butter are awesome. We did find a hair in 1 of the salads, and it was quickly remedied. They removed from the bill and offered something in return. Service is friendly, and value for what you get is good. Fresh strawberry pie, yes, please.

Google
This is one of my favorite places to visit for chicken. There drive-in is super nice (like Sonic), as soon as pulled in someone came to our window. We got the buffalo burger, chicken basket, and fresh apple pie. Their ice cream cones are really good as well (no picture of ice cream, it was gone before I had a chance to take a picture).

Google
I have had the pleasure of eating all over this country coast to coast, and by far they have the best filet mignon!!! I ordered the 10 oz filet mignon with blackened seasoning cooked to a perfect medium it was not hard or rubbery but it just melted in your mouth no bacon around it!! I also had a full ear of corn on the cob with homemade mashed potatoes and meat drippings gravy also excellent! There was beautiful surroundings and beautiful hardwood finishing on the inside. Looks like a ranch on the outside and still family owned after four generations. Again By far leaps and bounds the best steak I ever tasted should’ve cost $120 a plate but it’s very affordable at less than half than that!!!!! Kudos to the Maddox family and our server, McKenzie!!!! Will definitely come back over and over again and bring all of my out of town friends!!!

Google
First time dinning. We arrived an hour before they closed. They ran out of prime rib. Make sure you arrive earlier for that dish. I ordered the shrimp steak. It was a lot different than expected. The chicken fried steak tasted more like a hamburger steak. I was a bit confused that’s how they make it. The rolls are homemade. I would recommend coming back again and trying their different plates.

Yelp
Food is always amazing, as is the service! Love the atmosphere and if you have a reservation there really is no waiting.

Yelp
OH MY GOSH. This may be one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. My boyfriend and I were on a long road trip to California from Idaho. It was about 8 pm when we decided to find a place on Yelp and try to sit down to eat. After looking at the reviews here, we were hopeful. It was a Saturday night and we were sat within 5 minutes. It was 8 pm so I'm sure it was very crowded earlier, but we got in no problem. The place was still full of people, it's just a big restaurant. My boyfriend and I were shocked at how good the homemade rolls and butter were. It was the best roll I've ever had in my life. Our steaks were both cooked perfectly and we both agreed it was better steak than steakhouses we've been to and paid $50-70 for. A steak dinner here costs around $30 and comes with rolls, a starter (we both got the salad, side note, croutons were unreal), an entree (steak) and a side (we got the baked potatoes!) AND really well seasoned veggies. It was a really great bang for your buck. We both left feeling full and happy. We had energy to make it to our final destination for the night which was four hours away. I have a feeling we'll be talking about this place for a long time, and may even take a trip back out to Utah just for this restaurant and to try the drive-in. Stop by, you won't regret it!

Yelp
You know, Maddox has been my choice for a great steak for most of my life, however, I feel the quality of meat and the service has gone down dramatically. The last three attempts at Maddox have been rough. Last night three of us went for steaks. One ordered medium rare, served on the edge of WELL DONE, the two of us ordered medium and both were on the edge of RARE. The waiter was aware and did nothing to attempt to fix the problem. Can anyone please suggest or give a potentially new recommendation for a great steak house? Maddox doesn't seem to be it anymore.
google avatar

Joel N.

Yelp
Early bird special well worth going out early. Long time establishment delivers home cooked food. Attentive waiter.
google avatar

Cole D.

Yelp
Had a terrific outing here on a road trip. I got the 75th anniversary special, which comes with the famous fried chicken, soup, and pie. The two pies were exceptional. The coconut and chocolate, the chocolate was the best. The famous fried chicken is OK. I love the mashed potatoes. I didn't think it was that famous. The soup was really tasty and a great way to start the meal. It cost $18 on the menu, my total came out to about $29. Baylee was our server. She really took care of us and accommodated every need. She was very friendly and gave us her recommendations. Excellent service.

Yelp
Always worth the drive up to BC to eat here. Fried chicken, steak, all amazing. Always busy for a reason. Good food.

Yelp
Favorite steakhouse in Utah! 4 stars because of no alcohol. I think about this place at least once a week.
google avatar

Hailey M.

Yelp
Wasn't my absolute favorite place but still had a great time! The one thing I will recommend is the snickers pie. It's a giant slab of snickers ice cream on top of an Oreo cookie and then covered in chocolate sauce. The best thing I had here. The steak is super good, loved the baked potato. Wasn't too impressed by their homemade root beer but it was fun to try! Went here for an office Christmas party and the service was impeccable. It is a huge restaurant and great for larger parties.

Yelp
Make a reservation ahead of time! The wait in restaurant was 1.5-2 hours. We only waited about 15 minutes with our reservation. Please note that some menu items are not available until after 3pm! It was a great experience. Our waiter Ray was very attentive and we could see him handling several tables at the same time. The appetizer bread is so good, I love it! So soft and always served warm. I had a salad, a chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, and corn on the cob. It was excellent!! Some of the best corn on the cob I've ever had in my life! Perfectly buttered and salted. The country gravy with the mashed potatoes and as a side for the meat is also just delicious. I also ordered a peach pie slice to go. Absolutely loaded with peaches! My favorite part was the whipped topping though. Sooo good. I loved it! I'm excited for the next time we get to go. The peach pie is seasonal though, so don't miss out while it's there!

Yelp
We visited Maddox during Peach Days which is a crazy time for them. I made a reservation and was seated fairly quickly, especially given how busy they were. My husband got the prime rib and loved it. It was everything he wanted, and "cooked perfectly." I had fried shrimp which were good. I'm not a steak eater. They gave my son his kids meal on a frisbee which I thought was so cute and fun. We loved the bread and butters, of course. It's VERY busy, but I love the homey feel of the place. Our server did a great job and was very attentive, especially for how busy it was. We loved it and will be back the next time we're in the area.

Yelp
I ordered the Cherry Limeade which I have gotten several times before at a different Fiiz in Roy. It's always been delicious with just the right amount of lime and cherry. My drink tonight is not the same color as it usually is and it only tastes like Sprite. I could have had a sprite at home.

Yelp
Maddox is an Utah classic and definitely worth a stop or even a special trip! They often get really busy, so plan accordingly, but we got in immediately for lunch on a Friday afternoon. I can never pass up their fried chicken, but their salmon is also surprisingly delicious. Their white rolls are soft and tasty, especially paired with the raspberry butter. We are not steak eaters, but I have heard that their steak is amazing. Conveniently, you can also order takeout and pick it up at a drive-through window on the west side of the restaurant. The dining room definitely has an old school vibe and we saw a few real life Cowboys while we were there, which was kind of fun. The drive up and dying in your car option is also an unusual treat. Be sure to check out Maddox if you are anywhere near Brigham City!
google avatar

Brianne C.

Yelp
Maddox 100% lives up to the hype. No notes! Service was fast and great, and the food was delicious, especially the rolls with the raspberry butter. And although the shrimp steak sounded a little strange, it was divine. We were also in a hurry when we came, but the server was very accommodating in helping us get out quickly.
google avatar

Sam S.

Yelp
Every time we're in the vicinity of Brigham City, I make my wife go to Maddox. Heck, sometimes we go even when we're NOT in the vicinity we sometimes make the hour long drive from SLC. The food is excellent and it's a really good value. Where else can you get all you can eat rolls (with their divine raspberry butter), soup/salad/cocktail, and a full steak dinner for around $30? The steaks are flavorful and the fried chicken is the best I've ever had. This time I deviated from my normal steak or chicken and I ordered the short ribs (dinner only, limited availability). They were so tender that I could eat them with a spoon. Our server, Wyatt, was excellent as well. He kept the rolls coming and made us feel at home. Guess I'll need to find more excuses to drive up north...
google avatar

Becky B.

Yelp
The homemade rolls with raspberry butter is money!!! I enjoyed the homemade chicken soup and the huge fresh chef salad. I didn't care for the institutional ranch dressing. A homemade salad dressing would go along way. The service was great and the place was clean.
google avatar

Buford H.

Yelp
Met a client there for a dinner meeting. Ambience was good, food was tasty with decent to generous portions. Our server was nice enough but we felt pretty rush for him to turn our table over quickly (and we weren't during a very busy time). Was a bit spendy but not out of line for a steakhouse. Will go back when in town.
google avatar

Karen H.

Yelp
Based on the reviews we were expecting a high quality meat... service was slow, burger was overdone, bison ribeye was small, tough, and overcooked. Beef ribeye was ok, a bit tough and overcooked. For the price, we expected a higher quality of meat.
google avatar

Rae Ann R.

Yelp
So good, steak, chicken and lobster.. a great variety and salads and amazing desserts. Very good service and atmosphere. A one of a kind.
google avatar

Joel O.

Yelp
Chicken fried steak, Turkey Steak with mashed potatoes and onion rings... and oh that flavored raspberry butter on fresh hot home made rolls. I got the weekday $18 special and was not disappointed. It included a pie for desert. I went with the coconut cream pie and they brought it in a to go container. Smart! Maddox is an institition and really one of the best examples of farm to table in Utah. You don't question where your steak is coming from.
google avatar

Jim M.

Yelp
The only bad thing I can think of is waiting to get in if you didnt make reservations.
google avatar

In K.

Yelp
I used to come here to eat their prime rib every time stay Ogden. Starting with their own rolls and corn breads every things on their menu had never disappointed me and my group. Prime ribs are always tend and juicy with real horseradish. Last evening three of us stopped by from our trip and two of my family never been here. They were also impressed with their quality foods. My wife saw 75 Anniversary specials until 5pm and Audrey let us have their specials when we sat 2 minutes before 5 pm. Not only for special price also it included cream pie desserts. We will come back someday.
google avatar

Russell P.

Yelp
The food, the service, the atmosphere. All exemplary! We eat here on a regular basis, all for the above reasons.
google avatar

Heidie M.

Yelp
Maddox is one of our all time favorite restaurants to eat at. It is just a good home cooked meal. They have amazing rolls and their turkey steak is top tier! The only downfall is trying to get a reservation during the holidays. It's so busy!
google avatar

Emily H.

Yelp
My favourite restaurant in Utah. It takes an hour to get here but it is worth it. They give a lot of food and great meat. The meat is very tender and juicy. Great service and always came by to refill our drinks. There's a lot of parking spaces. Great place when visitors come to vist

Vera M.

Yelp
The food was wonderful and a lot !! We have so much left overs and we love everything in there !!

Yelp
I had no idea this place existed until I made a lil trip to Idaho with a childhood friend who introduced me to this nostalgic drive-in that they came to frequently as a family when they lived nearby. Maddox have a dining room restaurant as well. It's connected to the drive-in. You can sit and enjoy more menu items from their Ranch. It looks like a newer addition to the drive-in side. I ordered a buffalo burger with cheese and added mushrooms. I opted for regular fries while my friend and her family went with the onion rings. I also enjoyed a rich, thick, chocolate milkshake. Not that syrup crap, mixed into vanilla and being labeled "chocolate" shake these days. So good. It's a good thing Maddox is so far from SLC because I would quite literally binge eat that burger every week. It was simple, no frills, but I was in burger heaven lol. I'd like to make another drive up here just to go inside to the restaurant and try some of their other menu items. Our server was a young woman who kept up with the ever busy cars coming and going. She was patient and made sure we were taken care of. You can even order frozen meats in bulk to go. I believe the server said it comes in a box or you can buy them by the sleeve. Get there early because they were sold out of the buffalo burger by the time we arrived around 5:30-6 PM. They carry Buffalo Burger, Hamburger, Chicken Fried Steak, and Turkey Burgers to name a few. Maddox, I think I love you...

Yelp
Visited twice during a weeklong meeting. Ordered the fried chicken both times and it was so freaking delicious!! The chicken is perfectly cooked. The potatoes taste like real potatoes that a mom makes. The gravy takes the mashed potatoes to the moon! Don't even get me started on the bread. The rolls are little bits of heaven! Carbo loading!!! I loved this place and would return anytime! Our servers both times were great, especially Belle. She was so sweet! It's good old fashioned food in an old school log cabin type building. It's a neat place full of history and yummy food!
google avatar

Julie N.

Yelp
Amazing service! Super yummy food. Rolls with honey butter. Seafood salad and delicious Salmon dinner.
google avatar

Gwen S.

Yelp
Everything! The service is always amazing. The food is perfectly delicious and the environment is beautiful. Mostly for holidays, special days, and always. # 1 PICK for special occasions.

David E.

Yelp
Always great food and excellent service. Been going to Maddox for more than 50 years.
google avatar

Christine L.

Yelp
As a whole I love this place! Been about 4 times and it's usually delicious. Went last night and was a little disappointed. I got the tenderloin medallions and it seemed more like roast beef and highly overcooked. The vegetable was carrots and Brussels sprouts-which made the carrots also taste like Brussels sprouts so that was disappointing as well. The meat was tough which is very unusual. It was very noisy (be aware of this if you are going on the weekend because it's always very noisy). The service was top notch and wonderful. Although last night was a disappointment I will definitely be giving them another try
google avatar

Yelp
Came for my birthday and the Food was delicious! Nice waitresses, family dining. 10/10 Will come again!
google avatar

Vanessa W.

Yelp
Love coming here. The service is fantastic. Their portions are very generous. My husband loves their T-bone. We love their salad, and rolls. The have a large waiting area with a fireplace. Gets pretty busy so recommended getting reservations.

Heather A.

Yelp
Amazing food and service. The rolls are amazing and try the taste of Maddox. Halibut is awesome

Tom C.

Yelp
Service was excellent, food was terrible, I ordered the ribeye medium, it came out well done and was one of the toughest steaks I have ever had. My son ordered the filet and it was over cooked as well. Food was not worth the money paid, next time we'll go to Texas Roadhouse, at least they cook the food they way you ask. Ambiance was OK.
google avatar

Larry B.

Yelp
Ok, so this review is for the drive in and not the main restaurant How many places are left in the US that still have drive ins with car hops. Not many. This place is a real treasure and a local favorite. Drive in, car hop takes your order returns with it and hangs the tray on your window. What a great and old memory from times long past. I had a cheese burger and my wife had a chicken sandwich both served with fries. . And as always, when in Utah. Fries are served with fry sauce. Both were great and so was the service. People wait on the side of the restaurant for a place to come open so they can pull in and order. If ever passing through, get off the freeway and "drive in". You can't go wrong. Food is great and so is the service.
google avatar

Dave S.

Yelp
Just like I remember from being a kid. Awesome attentive staff delicious chicken fried steak with you will not get anywhere else. Do yourself a favor. Make the drive and have a happy belly.

Yelp
Out of all the restaurants we've enjoyed during our stay in Logan, Utah - this meal might just take the #1 spot! It's a bit out of town but definitely worth the drive! Expecting it to be busy, we made a reservation on their website and arrived around 6 on Saturday. Hardly anyone was waiting which was a surprise. My parents visit Utah for the summer each year and love this place. They joined us and always ask for Ken's section. He's an older gentleman who's been working there for 41 years. This man never misses a beat! He's casual, calm and very friendly. Our table started with drinks and the delicious breadbasket of soft rolls and corn poles. This comes with the most flavorful raspberry butter, whipped butter and local honey. I ordered the ribeye with baked potato, veggies and a size of four gulf panko fried shrimp. My entire meal was fantastic! The steak was perfectly seasoned, grilled and the shrimp were melt in your mouth tender! Even the cocktail sauce was flavored exactly as you'd expect. The hubby ordered a T-bone steak, potato, veggies and my parents loved their filet. All of our meals came with house salads to start, and I loved the 1000 island dressing. We couldn't fit dessert, but I know they have 20+ different options. Our meal came to $75 before tax and we took half of it home for dinner the next night! This place is a MUST try!

Yelp
Loved lunch here! It was like a trip back in time! The all wood ambiance was a step back to the 1970's. The service was amazing and friendly! And the food was great! I'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Eric A.

Yelp
Great food, M-Thurs early bird special can't be beat! Prime rib for $18.99 with two veggies, cream pie, bread!

Sterling P.

Yelp
Lets start with the good our server was amazing she was friendly and helpful. Now the bad i ordered a primerib for 33 dollars and it had atleast 6oz of fat on it just ridiculous. My wifes steak was half cooked perfect and the other half was damn near raw.
google avatar

Carlee W.

Yelp
Incredible dinner at Maddox this evening with my husband. I ordered the famous fried chicken and my husband ordered the ribeye steak. Each part of our meal was perfection. Our server was fantastic and the ambience was relaxed and family friendly. This place lives up to the hype 100%. I will always recommend Maddox to anyone in the Brigham area (or even salt lake area as it is worth the drive!)
google avatar

Hanna N.

Yelp
This is my second time here and we loved it! Get a reservation online first. The inside has lots of seating, but its best to get a reservation. Good for big groups too. I had the turkey steak and it was delish! Top it off with some pie ice cream! We choose pumpkin and it was 5/5. Service was great!

Nathan B.

Yelp
I had lunch at Maddox today, and the service was good. I ordered the salmon lunch, which was tasty but slightly overcooked. Additionally, I didn't think cooking red peppers with broccoli was a great idea; it didn't work well together. Our waitress was busy but friendly and attentive. Despite the overcooked vegetables and the unappealing combination of red peppers with broccoli, I would still recommend Maddox to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience.
google avatar

Chuck S.

Yelp
Fried chicken was excellent. Garrett our server was top notch. Also had the chicken fried steak. Loved the seasonal corn on the cobb and took 2 large coconut cream pies home for later. As my father in law says, "Now thats a real cream pie!"
google avatar

Chris N.

Yelp
I get the filet and my wife gets the Taste of Maddox which includes fried chicken, chicken fried steak and turkey steak. This allows me to enjoy ALL the flavors that Maddox has to offer. I can't begin to express how much I love this place. From the delicious well water to the complimentary dinner rolls to the seafood cocktail, everything is always perfect. I'm going to look thru the Yelp reviews now to find any negative ones and see how our society is failing.

Mountain Bike R.

Yelp
This is a fantastic place to eat. They offer a wide variety of menu options focusing on their beef and bison steaks including bison burgers at the outdoor diner, incredible skinless chicken, and fish and shrimp better quality and preparation at most popular seafood places. The rolls are home made, light and fluffy that comes with regular butter and their famous raspberry butter. We always buy a half pint or two to take home. It's a bit of a drive for us, but worth it. There is a nice garden place next door, Alpine Village that has the best garden fairy items than anyone else in the state. Smith and Edwards and the Air Gorce museum is on the way coming from the South. People there are always friendly and attentive so service is always great. If a plate meal is not for lunch or dinner for you, the Maddox diner adjacent to the main restaurant and has some great eat in your car comfort food. Ambiance is one of a woodsy, cabin like appearance steeped in the founding family tradition. This means warm and inviting. In summary, this should be a 5 star experience. It is for my family. Oh, PS: They have to go beef, bison, turkey and shrimp steaks in a box to go. Make sure to take a cooler with you just in case.
google avatar

Yelp
Love Maddox, one of the best old school, local, farm to table, OG, restaurants around. Great fried chicken, chicken fried steaks and good ol'beef steaks. My favorite cut is the T-bone, but it's a lot of steak so I went with the filet. While the ribeye may have better marbling and flavor I enjoy the tenderness of a good filet. Pro tip, Maddox cooks to temperature better than most. If you order Medium Rare it's going to have a red warm center and red throughout. Maddox also puts a little butter on steaks when they come out to add a little flavor and keep it nice and juicy. We'll done Maddox. Their rolls are amazing! Light and fluffy, warm and oh so good with strawberry butter and regular butter. They also have corn pones, corn bread in a stick shape that is great with butter and honey. They used to have honey on the table but it became a casualty of Covid, now you have to ask for honey. Your meal comes with a choice of salad, seafood cocktail or soup. I always go with the seafood cocktail, it's imitation crab, I think, but really good and very good cocktail sauce. For $5 you add large shrimp to it. I ask them to hold the bed of lettuce they normally bring it on. Makes it easier to eat as I don't think the lettuce adds anything to it. And you have a choice of potatoes, fries, mashed or baked. And a vegetable medley. Their pies and desserts are delicious too but I'm usually too full. Wife ordered a huge cob salad and daughter ordered the kids steak. All reasonably priced and all in all a very enjoyable dinner.

Yelp
We have come here a couple times and are excited with the new additions to the menu. It's a family friendly restaurant and the service is great. Even on a busy night. Great menu for some comfort home style food. The braised short rib and tenderloin medallion meal were amazing. The rolls and cornbread with the raspberry butter were delish. They also have fresh fruit pies and seasonal cakes. It's a must try if you're in the area.
