The Great Maddox Steakhouse. I have heard good things.
Really cute old restaurant set in wood. I like it, great charm.
Went in for lunch. The rolls and cornbread were good and they come with a great raspberry butter. But, they didn't come out very warm.
The salad was a nice big spring mix that I enjoyed.
I went here to try the chicken fried steak and ordered it, but it was not what I expected. It wasn't breaded!! Or if it was it was very light. Not the chicken fried steak I had in mind.
The waiter, Timothy , was very kind and let me switch it for something else. I did try it and will say the meat was great. I just wish it was breaded and came with a lot more gravy.
I changed to the fried chicken. It was pretty good, but again has a really thin crust on it. I heard they were famous for it. It was pretty good, but again, I like a crispy breading on my fried chicken.
The mashed potatoes were excellent.
I'm looking forward to going back for their steaks!
The lunch specials are 20 bucks.
Its a little pricey overall, but the quality is there!!
Nice place, can recomend giving this one a try!!
