I recently visited Made In Japan in Melbourne and absolutely loved the experience. Even though it’s best known for its beautiful Japanese tableware, the vibe and the sense of craftsmanship made it feel special. The place is a gem for anyone who appreciates authenticity, every bowl, plate, and piece of drinkware seems to come straight from artisanal kilns in Japan. The quality is clear from the moment you pick up something. Browsing through their ceramics was calming and inspiring. Whether you’re after something functional for everyday meals, or a unique piece to add character to your home, there’s plenty on offer. The prices are reasonable for handcrafted items. Compared to what you’d expect for imported ceramics, the affordability makes it accessible without compromising on quality. Shopping there feels like a little escape, the store has a peaceful, thoughtfully arranged atmosphere. It’s easy to spend time browsing without feeling rushed.

Didn’t expect to find such an authentic Japanese ceramics shop in Melbourne. The textures, the colours, the atmosphere — everything felt genuinely handcrafted and thoughtfully curated. It’s the kind of place where you walk in just to browse, but end up staying longer because it’s calm, beautiful, and oddly comforting. Definitely worth visiting if you love quality and quiet craftsmanship. #genastar

Amazing little gem of a place. While you can view things on the website, way better in-store to browse the details of each item. There are many sets to choose from and better appreciated in person. The novelty mugs are much nicer in person to see and feel, as well as the little trinkets of socks and chopstick stands. Great place if you're looking for some gifts.

Beautiful Japanese ceramic shop in Melbourne. It truly felt like I was in a wa-zakkaya ( Japanese ceramics and craft shop) in Japan. The selection is beautiful, and the prices are very reasonable.

A wonderful store selling kitchenware and ceramics. Their products have a beautiful timeless style, great range, and fantastic quality. I visited during Thanksgiving weekend and they had a 20% off storewide sale. I had a tough time deciding what to buy!

The aesthetic of the store was immaculate. Very rustic yet a good combination of modern and traditional feels. The cups and plates were all so unique and beautiful, they would fit in just about any kitchen!! Cups and plates are reasonably priced for hand made kitchenware. It was an amazing experience. I bought my friends housewarming gifts here!
