Madewell

I went into Madewell specifically to try on petite jeans and was really looking forward to finding a good fit. Unfortunately, the experience left a lot to be desired. When I asked for petite styles, the associate looked me up and down and asked—with clear attitude—why I thought I was petite. It felt dismissive and uncomfortable. She reluctantly brought out just two pairs, made no effort to offer other options, and seemed uninterested in helping further. I expected better service and a more welcoming attitude, especially when shopping for something as personal as jeans. Disappointed.

decent selection but styles have been pretty bland lately

Loved my experience at the Madewell in Scottsdale fashion square today. I was helped by Kenya and she was very attentive and kind. She was available to grab me additional sizes and brought more options I would like. She hyped me up as I was trying them on as well. I ended up getting more than I thought I would and I couldn’t be happier with the clothes and jewelry I got. I will recommend this location to anyone.

Neat, clean, well-appointed and very appealing. Super pleasant place to shop. Great music and the customer service is AWESOME!!! Everyone there is super friendly and knowledgeable about the clothing. They seem to help you find the proper fit for your body type. The location in the mall is perfect. Super spot for classic finds!

I have been to so many madewell stores and this one by far us had the biggest collection. Even bigger than Nashville. This shocked me to say the least. Spent about 20 minutes in the store and browsed through all the options and sales. Love the seasonal color selection and blend of winter and summer clothes. The best jeans and fabric.

Although this location is always extremely busy, it’s very easy to get assistance with whatever you need. I had several associates check in on me to make sure I had been helped and I just had an online order to pick up. Thank you so much for such great customer service, especially Kenya who was able to help me very quickly.

So glad Ruby was working when I went in today! She helped me order my size since it wasn't in store, or at another nearby, and she was able to get my great discounts! She was very friendly and helpful! Will definetly be back!

My dream jeans I had been there last week to get a pair of jeans after my delivery it was hard for me to find jeans of my size. I had been hunting for a while but I couldn’t get one. I had been to this place i met MICHALLE not sure if this spelling is correct she helped me find the jeans i had been looking for with perfect fitting in one shot.jeans are expensive but they are worth every penny.

I went to Madewell for the first time and had hoped for some assistance from the sales staff. I've heard great things about Madewell jeans and I was excited to buy my first pair! Unfortunately, my experience was not great. It was nearly impossible to get anyone's attention despite the store not being busy - I only saw two other shoppers. Instead of getting help with sizing, fit and style, I picked out some jeans by myself, tried them on, and purchased them. Unfortunately after trying on again at home, I decided to return everything I purchased. I feel like I could have picked something better with some guidance from the sales staff. Customer service was sparse, but my interactions with the employees were pleasant overall. The women were kind when I checked out, and on my second visit, it was easy to return the items. My advice to Madewell is to focus more on customer service. If I originally had help picking out the right jeans for my body, I would have ended up keeping them and the company would have made $300 instead of $0.

I had a great experience buying my first pair of jeans at Madewell. I love purchased their shirts, dresses and maternity pants. Keanna was so great and helpful. She helped my and my mom find the perfect pair of jeans. She helped describe each of style of jeans. The store was busy so I was prepared to search for pants on my own but I'm so thankful that Keanna was there to help.

I stopped in to make an exchange on some jeans I ordered that didn't fit on Thursday night. Michelle (I think that was her name) was sweet and helpful with grabbing the sizes I needed to try on. I was ready to buy a size too big until she said something about how I look like I'd fit in the next size down better and the jeans will stretch/give a little. I am so glad she said something because I was about to make a huge mistake! Thank you to Michelle for your thoughtfulness. The store was very quiet, clean and everyone wore masks.

I love Madewell. I used to work at a Madewell. I am only in AZ for a few months & was excited to stop by the location at Fashion Square. I won't be back to this location. Customer service was absolutely non-existent. I blame the store director & management team here. Clearly, they don't set a good example for their associates. Not one person acknowledged me (the store was relatively empty). I made eye contact with a pale, tall brunette associate who looked miserable & acted like she didn't see me. I moved to the back to look at shoes & there was an associate touching already folded stacks of clothing who didn't offer to help me as I crouched to the bottom of the floor, looking for my size. Frankly, I'm embarrassed on behalf of this location. There have been reviews about their poor customer service prior to mine & they obviously haven't changed. Step it up

The worst customer service ever. They don't even bother to say hello... or good bye for that matter. News flash / it's not that hard to be polite

I can't stop thinking about this place. The clothes are just so cute and the staff is just so helpful, but I'm afraid if I keep going back I'll never finish paying off my credit cards. Madewell, for those unfamiliar, is a deriviative of the J. Crew brand. It's funkier, trendier and more boho than its classic, preppy sister store. Madewell's prices are in line with J. Crew. Since I went on opening day, nothing was on sale, and it was physically painful for me to pay full price for their clother. But I did it! The stuff is just that fabulous and of good quality. Normally I would balk at paying $20-25 for knits, but I swear their racerback tank was one of the softest things I have ever tried on. Much nicer than the $5 cheapies I usually get at Old Navy or H&M. The same goes with dresses. Sure I have a few of polyester numbers that I've picked up at JC Penney or the juniors section at Macy's, but the 100% silk dress I got at Madewell is so beautiful. I feel like the quality is very apparent so it's worth the splurge. What I didn't like was their jewelry. I would say most of their items fall into the "overpriced" category rather than the "worth it for the value" catergory, not unlike accessories at Anthropologie. I'm sure I'll change my mind once Madewell has been around longer, and things start going on sale.

I had no idea this place even existed (I promise I don't live under a rock), probably because I never shop in Scottsdale, but now that I know it's here, I will be back. I'm an avid Pinterest user, and I recently came across one of their dresses. Not really being a fashion participant, I usually don't get my hopes up when I like something I see online, because I'm consistently one or two seasons late. I looked at their site and saw that the dress (and lots of other adorable things) was still listed and that there was a branch in the Scottsdale mall, so - being in desperate need of a holiday dress - I decided to check it out. The clothes are a cross between Gap and Anthropologie, with the quality of Gap and the sticker shock of Anthropologie. They were having a 30% off everything in the store sale, though, so no complaints. I wasn't in there for 2 minutes before I spotted the dress, found my size (last one!) and tried it on. To my delight, because this honestly only happens once a year for me, the dress fit like a glove, didn't feel like it would bust at the seams if I tried to bend over or sit down, and despite being covered in sequins, was very well-sewn. Other than that, I would go back for their other clothes, but I might wait for a sale. The sales associates were very pleasant and helpful without being annoying. No upsells or store credit cards forced on me, either, so I'll keep an eye out for this company in the future.

This review is for the Tucson La Encantada location. I live in a town that doesn't have a Madewell store so I purchased a hat online which is a crapshoot in and of itself. While in Tucson, I returned the hat, unblemished and still in the box it was delivered in and was given store credit which is terrific since it was longer than a 30 day return. So excited about my $23.70 credit so I shopped with my girlfriends and found a coat $168 and a shirt $32. My total bill was $187...so Madewell did well by giving me store credit. That being said, my items were waded up and put in a Madewell bag. I asked the manager who was assisting an employee at the counter if that was how it was done here and she said that they weren't allowed to touch the clothes. That didn't make any sense...she touched them to wad them. Being with friends I didn't want to pursue it so I got home and called Madewell customer service who assured me that it wasn't policy with Madewell. The manager and associate combined seemed to have no customer service training. Come on guys!!! You have some of the nicest and well made clothes. Get your training. Be a good steward for your company. Don't be curt and flippant to basically your only customer for the whole 15 minutes we were there.

There is nowhere to sit or wait for someone who is trying clothes on. Great pants, but not a great experience in the store. It's really designed for solo shoppers.

I order a monogram handbag 6 months ago. It arrived without a monogram, I returned it to the store. I reordered another one and still no MONOGRAM. Why is it so hard to monogram?

Love love love Madewell. The clothes are quite literally made well. I know when I purchase from them, I am purchasing a garment that will last me for years without ripping, tearing, unraveling, etc. Their v-neck T-shirts are the best, and when they are on sale, very affordable, too. I recently received a 100% silk polka-dot dress from this store that is the nicest dress I have ever owned. Completely luxurious and stylish. I also purchased several pairs of shorts from them over the summer that quickly became my favorite pairs. I also own a chambray Oxford shirt. Next, I want a pair of madewell jeans or a cardigan. Their shoes are also to-die-for. Ever heard the saying that "poor people can't afford to buy cheap things"? It argues that if you bite the bullet and pay the price for higher quality clothes, you won't need to replace your clothes as often, therefore saving you money. It's how I justify paying the relatively high prices here :)

Thank you girls for your wonderful service. It is obvious you enjoy what you are doing and surely respect your clients. I am excited to share with my daughter my professional and warm treatment. She is going to be so excited to hear of your extensive range of sizes as well.

I didn't love my shopping experience here. For as big of a store they have they didn't have a lot of product. And they didn't have any of the new arrivals I wanted from online. Employees stared me down the whole time and asked "are you doing okay" every 5 min. Employees were not pleasant and I could tell they did not want to be there.

Love Madewell. Cute, affordable. Great customer service. I also went to the location in Kierland Commons, also great service. Should be added to Yelp!! #lovemadewell.

I love madewell the brand but there is nothing worse to me than when you're trying to shop and the employees have their eyes on you the entire time. I don't know if it's because they are slow or bored but it's uncomfortable and rude. It made my experience there multiple times rather akward and unenjoyable. Online shopping for me.
