Madikwe Safari Lodge

We had an incredible stay at Madikwe Safari Lodge and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From start to finish, everything was smooth, comfortable, and well-organized - and we been to many safaris!||Our ranger, Regar, was a huge highlight of the trip. His knowledge, enthusiasm, and ability to spot wildlife made every game drive exciting. He clearly loves what he does, and his passion made the experience even more special. We saw so much wildlife, but what stood out was how he explained everything in a way that made us appreciate every detail.||The staff at the lodge were fantastic, especially Jonathan, who was always friendly and helpful. He made sure we had everything we needed and always checked in to see if we were comfortable. His service really stood out and made us feel welcome from day one.||A big thank you to Natalie and Emery as well, who handled all the logistics perfectly. Everything ran so smoothly, from our arrival to our departure, and they were always available if we needed anything.||The lodge itself is beautiful, the food was great, and the overall atmosphere was relaxed yet luxurious. If you’re looking for a safari experience with great service, knowledgeable guides, and a beautiful setting, I’d now always recommend Madikwe Safari Lodge. ||6/5 stars.

Great park with off the clock game drives. Accommodation is great too and it’s super child friendly. However, the best bit is the staff. Our guide Petrus was awesome, so knowledgable and accommodating. Kelsie at front house can’t do enough for you and is very good at what she does. Frank is the best night time helper ever! The eco centre staff and babysitting staff are also top notch! Well done to you all

This is a really special place. The reserve is a lovely blend of having enough animals that you will regularly see them, without so many that it feels artificial. Every day we went out, we would see something new and interesting. The lodge is beautiful, and the staff are kind and very attentive. Our guide, Nel, was knowledgeable, funny and made the whole experience really special. We learned a lot. We would not hesitate to come back!

We spent 4 nights at Modikwe Safari Lodge at the end of October in a family suite. Our guide Brendin was excellent, very knowledgeable and engaging with our 12 year old son. Lovely, friendly waiting staff and delicious food. Very well appointed reception areas and Spa all tastefully decorated. Given it a 4 star rating as the family suite bathroom was a little dated. Highly recommend the Lodge particularly if travelling with children.

We had amazing time during our honeymoon in the Lelapa lodge at Madikwe. The room is fabulous, the food was great and safari entertaining. We were not lucky with the weather (January 2024), it rained heavily for three days of our stay. We wished we could enjoyed more the amenities which are amazing. Huge thanks to our safari guide, Regard, who was the a highlight of the trip.

Absolutely fantastic, the staff are all amazing can’t do enough for you. The food is excellent. I can’t praise this lodge and the people that run it to all the staff fantastic.. One last shout out goes to the amazing ranger we had Reg aka the Running Nun, he was superb not only in finding the game we wanted to see, but also his knowledge and expertise on the animals, bird life but also flora and fauna, he was exceptional and we learnt so much. If you want to experience animals up close and personal, this is the place for you. The game drives were excellent, and Lucas, our guide, knew the places to go. The off-road drives are rough, and you really do some bundu bashing.

There are a number of private game lodges that charge a similar rate but don’t deliver - this one does, in every way!||From when you arrive the staff are welcoming, always attentive, thoroughly professional and great hosts (all of them - well led by Frank)! The food is varied and delicious! The facilities are modern but reflect that you are in the bush and have great amenities (loved the splash pool and outdoor shower).||And the main reason you are there (hopefully), the safari - great sightings in an awesome vehicle with an excellent guide - thank you Ryan! Every game drive was an adventure with some of the best sightings I have seen in over three decades of visiting the bush!
